This One-Shot is located time after Sonic the Hedgehog 4
Again Eggman's plans had been thwarted by Sonic for the last time and the evil scientist would not stop until he fulfilled his dream of conquest and got rid of the blue hedgehog once and for all. After the destruction of the "Death Egg ", Dr. Eggman moved to another base that was very close to the Never Lake (seen on Sonic CD) and there reprogrammed his most ingenious creation again after his last mission.
Dr. Eggman: "Okay, now Sonic won't know what hit him. Get up now, Metal Sonic" –he told his creation.
From there, the machine's bright reddish eyes came out and that caused a big smile for the villain.
Dr. Eggman: "Ok, it's time to prepare" –he said with an evil smile.
Theme: "You Can Do Anything" (Japanese Opening of Sonic CD)
Sonic ran at full speed while he saw the new Eggman's base in the distance and he began to run very fast until he reached the base. After that, the blue hedgehog turned up to enter and meet some Badniks on the way.
Sonic: "Hehe, let's see what those robots are capable of" –he said as he prepared to run.
The Badniks began to run towards the blue hedgehog, but Sonic managed to destroy some robots thanks to his Spin-Dash and some jumps and began to run all over the base. The blue hedgehog ran on the ground or the walls and did a few acrobatic turns in some tubes to find Eggman, that if some Badniks were in his way.
Sonic: "Ok Eggman, come out of your hiding place" –he said while destroying some Badniks.
At that, megaphones began to sound static until Dr. Eggman began to speak.
Dr. Eggman: "My dear Sonic, you have once again fallen into my trap"
Sonic: "Really? Because I always come out of your less ingenious traps" –he said a little mockingly.
Dr. Eggman: "You know what? I don't care much about your teasing, it's time for this day to be the last for you. Metal Sonic!"
Sonic: "Wait, what?"

Suddenly, Metal Sonic appeared from the ceiling, looking at his rival, causing Sonic to brake and observe the machine similar to him.
Dr. Eggman: "Metal Sonic, you know what to do"
Metal Sonic turned on his thruster and that brought Sonic a challenging smile.
Sonic: "Alright Metal, it seems that we are going to have a combat between us" –he said with his challenging smile.
In that, Metal Sonic flew directly to where Sonic was, but the latter ran away at great speed, causing them both to have a run at base.
Theme: "Sonic Boom" (Crush 40 & Cash Cash)
Sonic and Metal Sonic were running at great speeds and neither of them was going to stop, the blue hedgehog looked at his robotic copy who showed his claws and began to catch him, but Sonic was not going to catch himself so easily.
Sonic: "Come on Metal, put more batteries in this" –he said.
In that, Metal Sonic hit his fist against the wall and Sonic managed to save himself from that blow, causing Metal Sonic to chase after him.
Dr. Eggman: "Come on Metal, kill Sonic once and for all!"
In that, Sonic and Metal Sonic were running at high speeds whether on the ground, walls, or some winding walkways, neither of them were willing to slow down and Sonic already had a plan to make Metal Sonic no longer chase him.
Sonic: "Hey Metal, don't catch me!" –He said as he ran even further.
Metal Sonic chased him further and he watched Sonic who was standing and the robotic copy showed his claws to grab him, however, just as he was near the blue hedgehog, Sonic used his Spin-Dash and hit Metal Sonic who fell into a giant bucket of liquid substance, causing the hit to have some scratches and splash a jet of liquid substance on Metal Sonic's head.

Sonic: "Well, I guess I'll have to look for Eggman," he said to himself as he prepared to run.
However, he observed that the cracks were getting bigger and the jets were coming out of the cracks and that caused the liquid substance to come out and spread throughout the base.
Sonic: "Oh-Oh, I'd better get out of here the quickest, literally" –he said as he ran.
The blue hedgehog was rushing out as the liquid substance spread almost all over the base, causing Eggman to roll his eyes at his hideout after seeing such an event in his security cameras.
Dr. Eggman: "How I hate that hedgehog" –he said to himself while crossing his arms.
After leaving the base, Sonic observed the Never Lake and he remembered the occasion where he went to visit the Little Planet.
Sonic: "What memories, it would be better to meet with Tails and tell him what happened today" –he said as he ran as fast as possible.
At the base, Metal Sonic walked slowly and almost covered in the liquid substance while listening to a cough in the megaphones.
Dr. Eggman: "It can't be, everything was ready and that nosy hedgehog had to ruin everything. I hate him, I hate him, I hate him… "
And so Eggman kept talking in the megaphones and Metal Sonic decided to ignore the whims of his boss while he kept walking slowly until he went to the booths.
