(A/N - this is a short chapter, i apologize, but for the two readers that will probably end up seeing this after they scrounge around fanfiction for two days, they will get longer, i promise that bit.)

"Yup, it's a struggle without her mother home, honestly. She's away at that gym 24/7 these days, especially with all the new trainers flying over here to Lata. I just can't imagine running a gym when the streets are even more crowded than ever," The man repressed a sigh, lowering the phone for a second to turn away from the stove and look at the two dog-like Pokémon eating their bones, side by side.

"Asher and Phoenix, you two, go wake Nori for me. I've been hollering for her for about 20 minutes."

The shiny Manectric, Asher, seemed pretty excited to wake up Nori. Before he could declare a race against Phoenix, the Houndoom, she raced against the wood with her nails scratching against it with Asher following behind. "Don't ruin my floors, damn it!" Nori's dad yelled at the Pokémon before turning back to the pancakes, flipping them.

The Pokémon both got quiet, not at the yell, but the need to really scare Nori, before gingerly entering her messy room. Creeping silently across the carpet, they both took one side of the bed and leapt onto Nori at the same time, making her holler.

"PHOENIX AND ASHER, WHY ARE YOU IN HERE?!" She bellowed, the pair racing out of the room. Slumping out of bed, she Nori glanced at the alarm clock that showed the time of 10:32 am, on July 8th. She squinted to adjust to the light, and her heart fell to her feet when she saw the time. "Oh NO!" Nori fell over when she was grabbing her glasses, and got dressed in her day clothes so quick it wasn't even a joke.

"Oh, there she goes. No breakfast?" Nori's dad grinned, showing her the pancakes.

"Nah, can't. I'll just eat some of the snacks in my backpack."

"But those are for the road, not breakfast. Have a granola bar at least," He looked at Nori, tossing her two peanut butter granola bars. Nori caught them, and stopped suddenly to give her dad a big hug. "Love you, dad. I'll visit soon," She smiled."

"Aww, I love you too. Have a great journey, and become the best."

"Don't worry, I will." Nori smiled, and grabbed her stuff and went out the door.

It was time for her big journey.. but she was missing something.

Oh, right. She had to get her Pokémon.
