Diego laid inside the cave that he had settled in when they reached their new home, he looked around and sighed at the loneliness of his situation. He and shira had gotten in a small argument earlier that day which eventually exploded into a full on yelling match. Shira decided it would have been wise for them to keep some space between them for awhile. Diego at the time disagreed, but looking back he realized it was probably a good idea no matter how much it hurt to be alone again. Shira had stomped off after they had finished yelling at each other. She told herself he deserved it, but she felt kinda bad for Diego 'ugh, I cant stand him' she sat down and leaned against a tree rubbing her forehead 'I cant stand him, yet I cant stop thinking about him' she laughed a little and kept walking 'maybe I can run it out of me' she thought as she broke into a sprint through the forest. Diego sighed and walked out of his lonely home and started trekking through the forest looking for a snack. Shira ran through the trees without a care in the world. Diego suddenly stepped out infront of her, she tried to skid to a stop but with no luck. She slammed into his side hard knocking the wind out of diego and leaving him on the ground panting. Shira jumped up and looked around to see what she had run into. She looked down and saw Diego on his back coughing. She held back a laugh "you didnt have a green light" she said as she started to walk away. Diego exhaled "Haha, laugh it up kitty" Shira turned and growled at him "DONT CALL ME KITTY DIEGO" diego stood up on his feet and shook the dirt off his face "alright kitty" he chuckled but was surprised when she smacked him with her paw. Shira stepped back, somewhat surprised at what she did. Diego sat there shocked, he put his paw up to his mouth and then spat. Shira gulped when she saw a spark of anger flash through his eyes "I-Im sorry" she said taking a step back. She was tough alright but if Diego wanted to he could easily over power her. Diego wiped his mouth with his paw and stepped over to her. She lowered her body to the ground. Diego looked at her "remember when I said I dont fight girls?" He paused and she nodded "I meant it" he said as he walked off. Shira watched him walk off, confused she stood up and followed him 'why didnt he do anything, I obviously made him mad' she thought as she followed him. Diego rolled his eyes and turned to face his stalker "what happened to some time apart?" He asked. She looked at her paws not having a good response she stayed quiet. Diego looked at her "why are you following me?" He asked as he returned to walking. Shira walked up along side him "why didn't you do anything back there?" He looked over at her "because, I promised I would never hurt you" he said quietly. She looked at him "I'm sorry what was that?" She asked. He rolled his eyes "I promised I would never hurt you" he said loud enough so she could hear. She looked at him surprised "softie" she said as she nudged him. He stayed quiet and kept walking, Shira looked down at her paws as they walked "ok sorry" she said. Diego looked at her "for what?" She looked up at him "for hitting you, and for yelling at you" he kept walking "its alright" he said "well, I guess I'll see you later" he turned left and walked into the woods. Shira stopped and watched him, she sat down and felt a tear run down her cheek. She wiped it away with her paw 'crying? Really your crying over him, no wonder he calls you kitty' she sniffled a little and started following Diego again. Diego sat in a field surrounded on all sides by dense forest covered in flowers. Shira watched from the tree line as diego sat there watching the stars. She looked up and saw the millions of stars twinkling above them. Diego sighed "are you gonna sit there and stalk me like prey? Or are you going to come over here and talk to me?" She looked around then stood up and walked over to him. He chuckled "you, were so distracted that you approached from the total wrong direction" She chuckled a little and sat down a few feet from him. Diego looked over at her and saw her tear staind face. She tried to hid her face, he put his paw on her back. She looked at him and then at her paws. Diego chuckled, Shira sniffled "go ahead, laugh Diego I'm crying, I'm a softie" he rolled his eyes and nudged her "softie" he said as he wiped the tears off her face with his paw. She tried to bat his paws away but gave up after a few failed attempts. She looked at him "Diego?" He looked at her "can you sing me a song?" He looked at her confused "how hard did you hit your head when you ran into me?" She laughed "oh shut up softie, what's the matter to afraid?" Diego shook his head and pushed her away with his paw. She did the same and waited, Diego looked at her "you were serious?" She nodded. He inhaled sharply and chuckled "I hope you have some ear plugs then" Shira laughed and punched his shoulder. She laid down and waited. Diego sighed knowing there was no getting out of this he resigned himself to the title of Diego the singing sabertooth. He cleared his throat and looked down at her. she chuckled and covered her ears. Diego started singing in a soft smooth voice which caught Shira off guard, she took her paws off her ears and listened in astonishment.

Shira blushed and his her face with her paws, diego laughed a little while he caught his breath and continued.

He stopped and looked at her "feel free to cast your friendly and not so friendly insults now" he said. Shira laid there quietly. Diego looked at her "hey? You okay?" She jumped up and kissed him "I love you Diego, even if I dont show it I love you" he chuckled and stood up "I love you to, kitty" she growled and nudged him "softie" she smiled. Diego looked at her "should we head back to the rest of the herd?" She nodded and they made their way to the herd gathering area.
