"Psyche, go! I will be right back." Her brother shouted amongst the confusion. The escape has all gone wrong and he was going back in. Her fear and anger seemed to take control of her as she noticed everything around her. It looked like pure war with mutants trying to fight for their life.
"No, you're supposed to stay." Psyche sobbed. As much as she didn't want to die, she didn't want him to die more. She knows if he goes back in, she might never see him again."With me please." He was her big brother, her best friend. Her eyes were peering into his deep browns, noticing this soldier look on his face. He was going to be the hero of this story, he was going to go in and help those mutants while she stays here, no matter how hard she tries.
"I will meet you at the front entrance. There is something I need to take care of." More like people he needs to take care of. A part of her hates him for what he's doing, while the other part wishes she could be the one saving the day.
"No-No...This was not part of our plan. We have to go. We have to go now..." Psyche shook as he got close to her. He noticed that her shakes were unbearable. He shoved papers in her pockets and pulled her into a hug, taking in her smell.
"This is too much for you." He whispered, "You will be at ease once you are away, meet me at the front entrance. I will be there. I love you." He gave her one last look, taking in his little sister. She watched him go- she let him go. Her stomach twisted, tormented by what felt like bees. She couldn't control how it felt. It hurt to breathe. She didn't fight well in these circumstances- too many emotions. She snapped herself out of it and started to run, not sure what was safe and what wasn't. As she ran the only thing she thought of was the front entrance and the ground.
The ground was uneven and one wrong step can make you go flying off this hill into the forest. Psyche made sure with every step she watched where she was going. There were so many people she felt numb. She ran as fast as she could, not paying attention to any detail until she caught sight of the barrel of a gun. "STOP!" A familiar-looking guard screamed. With one hand on his gun threateningly, he used the other to contact the rest of the team. "I got the Empath. I repeat I got the Empath." This time she felt her own fear in the middle of her throat. She tried to use her powers but she couldn't. . She did the next best thing she could think of- she ran.
As she bolted she heard the gunshots and felt metal strike her body. She let out a cry, what was going to happen next. Within the next second, the lab building exploded. Scraps of metal flying in the sky with smoke following it. Screams pierced her ears and her body went numb to everything. "LOGAN!" She tried to shout but her body couldn't. The force of the explosion knocked her body off balance, causing her to fall and roll off the hill. The sky and ground fought over her vision until it became too much, she closed her eyes. She didn't stop rolling until her head made a banging noise and everything went black.
Psyche's eyes opened, as she acknowledged where she was. She was laying on the ground, covered in dirt and leaves. She stood uneasily, feeling pain from her stomach and noticing blood. Her head was pulsating and her thoughts were scrambled. 'Everything is so green- was everything alway this green? I can't remember the last time I have seen so much green.' She rambled on to herself, not understanding what has happened to her.
Psyche felt as if she was walking aimlessly, unsure of where to go. 'Why do all the trees look the same?' She couldn't tell how many hours have passed. Trying to remember what occurred in the last possible hours only gave her a headache with no effect. With blurring vision, she started to trip over herself
Psyche tried to keep going. Although she was struggling to walk forward, she felt as if she had to- that someone was waiting for her. After a few steps with the support of trees, she heard voices- young voices. There were laughter and upbeat chatter. "Help..!" She tried to scream but it only comes out as a whisper. As she gets closer, she prepares her voice for a scream. Her eyes locking with a dark shade of green and a head of fiery red hair. "Help!" she screams on the top of her lungs, catching the young woman's attention.
"SCOTT! GET THE PROFESSOR! GET HELP!" Jean Grey, a mutant screamed as she caught the injured girl before she hit the ground.
