Uchiha Assemble
Chapter One: New Lifestyle
The bitter cold air of the night bites at the young boy's fair skin, his black spiky hair which dripped past his ears, his black eyes stared with a mixture of confusion and being tired, watching his mother frantically packing his bag with clothes.
"Momma, what's happening?" says the young boy with a yawn on the end.
"Don't you worry about a thing, Riku. We'll be gone before you have anything to worry about," says his long black-haired mother, her black dress had dark blue lining with multiple wraps of bandages up and down her thigh.
Slowly, Riku's eyes fell upon the window which over-looked the streets of the Uchiha compound which was empty and quiet. Almost too quiet. While his eyes begin to focus, he spots a slowly forming pool of liquid which reflected the moonlight, before he can even get a better look his mother drags him away and through their home's backdoor, his mother drags the both of them through the forest with the bag slung over her back and a tight grip on her son's hand.
Riku can barely keep up as his mother almost breaks into a sprint, the rushing of the wind forces the trees to sway and leaves to rustle.
Suddenly, an eye-piercing scream comes through the thick foliage which makes Riku spin his head around to the sound but his mother forces him to focus on the path; "Momma, what was that?"
"Nothing dear, just keep moving!" says Riku's mother her voice beginning to shake.
Swiftly, a shuriken comes flying across Riku's face before stabbing into his mother's back, splatting blood from the wound, his mother throws both of them over a ridge hoping to get away from the mysterious attacker, Riku took a single glance to find a pair of blood-red eyes staring back at him, lifeless.
The two continue to rush forward until a fast-flowing stream leaving the two to stop dead in their tracks, the two turn around just as another Shurkien flies by with Riku's mother throwing Riku to the side before jumping to the side herself, she pulls out a kunai from her pouch hidden underneath her dress throwing three into the mysterious figure, the clashing of metal as sparks fly.
Riku watches as his mother's eyes slowly turned red as she pulls out a Tanto from her back, she throws the sheath off holding the Tanto in a reverse grip.
Riku jumped behind a rock with his head just over the edge to watch the fight.
Suddenly, Riku's mother pounced forward swinging the blade in an upwards slash barely catching the figure cloaked in darkness, blood spills into the midnight air, however, the figure spin kicks back bashing his mother in the head sending her to the floor, the Tanto spins away from her grip.
She quickly forgets it. Spinning around on the floor and smashing the figure's legs forcing him the join her on the floor, Riku's mother pulls the figure's arm around his back pushing it up, the figure grunts before dislocating his own arm to get leverage to kick her off and into the rock behind, the two take a second to process their wounds with Riku's mother taking out both of the shurikens while the figure forced his arm back into it's socket with a grunt.
The two stared at each other for a brief moment, Riku caught his mother's blood-red eyes with shuriken like symbol in her eyes, she throws a few kunai catching the figure in the chest sending him backwards giving her enough time to grab the Tanto and its sheath before jumping over the rock to grab her son and run off downstream before stopping.
"Alright, Riku. you're gonna have to be a big boy now," she whispers storing the Tanto in the boy's clothes; "you're gonna have to be alone and rely on yourself, you must survive."
Suddenly, Riku felt a slight push, his grip tightens onto the tanto as he falls into the freezing stream which forces his body to tense while he struggles to keep his head above the water while the liquid finds it's way into his mouth resulting in him coughing down the stream before he realises a rock comes smashing into his body, his clothes shredded, bruising slowly spreads around his body a bones slowly cracked.
Riku plunges himself further into the stream trying to soldier his way to a riverbank down the stream, even though rock slashed and tore across him, blood pours into the stream as Riku screams and wails while the water sinks into his body.
Finally, with the tanto in hand, Riku slams his hand onto the river bank pulling himself out of the water, the freezing air bit and slashed at his skin with water dripping off of him, he coughs forcing the water out of his lungs. However his eyes without waiting close forcing him into a deep sleep.
In the morning, the light pierced through the skin of his eyelids making his eye flutter open catching the rays of the sun in his eyes, momentarily he was blinded by the sun before the sparking stream and the surrounding forest come into view, Riku tries to get up before screaming in pain as the many wounds on his body thump to life forcing a wave of pain and suffering to flood him, his back slams against the floor knocking him the wind out off his lungs.
Shakingly, Riku gets up clenching the tanto for life, he tires at his clothes and wraps his wounds with the blood seeping through the wrapping. However, Riku didn't stop as the growling stomach of his stomach forced him into action.
He started collecting berries and any type of fruit as his hunger grew.
Riku finds a clearing in the forest to sit there in the sun munching on the collected goods until… a low growl runs out from the edge of the forest, the snapping of twigs catches Riku's attention as the four-legged figure stalks the edge of the forest's darkness, Riku's hand grasps the tanto tighter.
The figure slowly enters the light of the sunlight revealing itself to be a black panther, it's deathly green eyes stare at the terrified young boy. Riku begins to back up before his back slams into a rock stopping his escape.
Slowly, the panther stalked the boy close and closer, enough so they were only a few feet apart and it stopped, with Riku's heart beating faster and faster until…
Suddenly, the panther jump forward swings it's paws downward, Riku pushed himself to the side leaving his left upper arm getting mauled with blood squirting out into the open.
Riku rolled over screaming in pain, the panther landed next to him and quickly snapped his jaw towards the boy but is stopped by the sheathed Tanto, the boy struggle to keep the panther away but the Tanto is slowly pushed back letting the panther's teeth come close to the boy's face.
In a single desperate moment, Riku pulled out the Tanto, letting the panther's head slipped to the left side of his head and he plunges the blade into the beast's neck covering his face in the drops of blood, it roared in pain escaping away from Riku to wimpy, Riku continues to cower away from the panther before it twists it's neck around to reveal it's ferocious eyes which threatens Riku.
Instantly, the panther slashes its claws at the boy's torso throwing him to the side as blood pours from his chest, the panther steps up to the ready to finish its job and start its meal.
Riku's shaking eyes stare into the beast's eyes, the boy feels something pour from his eye as his vision slowly changes, everything seems sharper and clearer but more importantly the panther seems to stop moving the force behind his limbs that pinned him down has disappeared.
Quickly, Riku taking the chance pulls the Tanto from the panther's neck and as it's unfocused eyes begin to focus once more. He forces the Tanto through the panther's eyes breaking the bone behind it and then plunging into its brain killing it almost instantly.
The lifeless panther falls off to the side blood streaming from the wounds, Riku gets up and takes a look at himself with the adrenaline wearing off, he clenches his teeth in pain and begins to walk away before stopping.
He turns to the dead panther, he looks down at his Tanto which had blood running down the black steel blade and the sliver edge, the hilt had bloody fingerprints dotted around it covering the red Uchiha symbol engraved into it. He walks over to the body stabbing the Tanto into it carving out chunks of meat and slicing off its fur.
Riku begins to think back to the fight when the panther stopped its attack before being reminded about stories that his mother would tell him at night, that the Uchiha clan is able to unlock a powerful Dōjutsu called the Sharingan.
Over the next seven years, Riku hunts down various animals for his meals and slowly gaining more and more combat experience and becoming more accustomed to using the Tanto kill enemies which stood in his way.
Slowly over the years, he made a hideout for him to sleep and eat, he found places to hunt for his daily meals.
However, nothing last forever.
Riku was walking through the forest before noticing a figure in front of him, he stops at the sight of the mysterious shape and so does the figure. It lifts its arms to chest height but Riku seeing weakness bounces off of a tree and towards the figure wrapping his right arm around their neck and forcing them into the ground with Riku sitting on there back pinning them down, he begins examining the figure with his eyes before moving closer to sniff at the head of the figure...flowers? The figure's hair smelt like flowers.
"Get the heck off me!" shouts the strong feminine voice.
Instantly, Riku is confused; "You can talk?"
"Obviously, I can talk but can you get off me, kid!" shouts the woman.
Carefully, Riku jumps off her back placing enough distance between the two to be safe, the figure cleans off the dust on her outfit, she was a fairly tall woman with a slender frame. She has light brown, pupil-less eyes. Her hair was violet and styled in a short, spiky, fanned-ponytail. She usually wears a fitted mesh bodysuit that covers her from her neck down to her thighs. Over this, she typically wears a tan overcoat with a purple in-seam and a pocket on each side, a dark orange mini-skirt, a dark blue belt, pale grey shin guards and a headband wrapped around her forehead with a metal plate on it.
"Thanks, you shouldn't just sit on people, ya know," says the woman looking the boy up and down.
His clothes were torn to shreds leaving his torso open revealing the massive claw scars and smaller cuts, the torn clothes hand over his scruffy shorts, multiple makeshift bandages litter his body, he had let his hair grow to waist-length with shoulder-length bangs framing the sides of his face.
"Sorry, I did not know that you were human," says Riku placing the Tanto in its sheath.
"What's your name, kid? You seemed to be in here for a long time," says the woman.
"I lost count of the days but when I entered I was only six-year-old. I'm Riku Uchiha," says Riku staring at the woman.
"An Uchiha? Don't tell me you're a survivor of the massacre which means you have been in here for seven years!" says Anko shocked; "How the hell did no one find you?"
"How would I know but who are you?" replies the kid.
"The names Anko Mitarashi, ninja of the leaf," Anko says with pride filling her voice.
However, Riku's stomach began to growl like a tiger, Riku looked down and up; "I'm hungry, I'll go kill something."
"Okay," says Anko before her eyes open in shock; "Kill?!"
Riku stopped before turning; "That's how I survived for seven years. I killed and eat anything in the way."
Anko thought to herself; 'jeez this kid is blunt and brutal for that matter.'
Instantly, Riku started walking again but Anko stops him; "Kid, come with me. I'm taking you back to the village."
With that being said Riku took a few seconds to reply; "I'm fine."
"Come on, Kid. there are other Uchiha there," shouts Anko grabbing Riku's attention.
'If I go with her, I'll be able to find out about what happened that day and even find out who did it and who killed my mother,' Riku turned around and said; "Let's go then."
"Great but first off," she says while pulling out a box, taking a thin stick out of it; "Have one of these."
"I don't kn-" says Riku before Anko shoves it into his mouth.
With a smile she says; "It's called a pocky stick, it's a chocolate-covered biscuit stick."
Riku tasted the pocky stick while a part of it hanged out of his mouth and he loved it, maybe going with Anko wouldn't be half bad.
A moment later, Anko and Riku walked into the village with winding streets and miles of houses, the two walked down the sandstone streets with people eyes stuck on Riku.
"First, things first. You need a bath. You're lucky that my job pays well so I can afford luxuries for beyond that of the forest," says Anko guiding the way to her apartment.
Anko prepares his bath before leaving him alone to take off his clothes and get in, he sat there a few moments for his body to adjust to the rise in temperature, he could see some of the dust and grime wash off of him.
Suddenly, the door opened leaving Riku to react quickly, he tries to grab his Tanto from behind his back before realising that it's not there, Anko walked in and through the steam, Riku could see just enough to know that he should turn around and never look back.
"You look a bit embarrassed there, Riku," says Anko with a laugh; "for such an animal, you are such a boy about things."
"Tch, whatever. What are you even doing here?" asks Riku trying to focus on something other than the naked woman getting into the bath with him.
"I thought that a forest savage like you would never know how to properly wash," says Anko with a smug grin.
"I do,"
"Is that why you smelt like dried blood?" asks Anko.
Riku rolled his eyes; "Fine. do whatever you're gonna do."
"Alrighty," replies Anko, as Riku feels the hot water being spread across his back and then a cold liquid is then placed on his back and being rubbed in; "You have been in a couple of fights huh," says Anko referring to the scars that littered his body.
"Either that or death," replies Riku coldly.
Anko continued to wash Riku down getting rid of all the dirt from his body; "I was thinking that if we cut all this awful hair off that there might be a charming young boy there."
"Sure."
"And maybe if we get you some new clothes."
"Sure."
"And afterwards we can get something to eat."
"Just hurry up, please."
Suddenly, a splash of hot water is poured onto his head shocking all of his senses and then it's followed by the same old liquid that Anko scrubs into his hair.
After Anko washes over his body a couple more times, she leaves him alone to get changed into the spare clothes that were left in the room, a plain black shirt and a pair of grey shorts. Riku made sure he attached his Tanto to his back before leaving.
Anko stood in the hallway leaning against the wall in the clothes she was previously wearing; "Took ya long enough, let's go."
Riku follows Anko through the streets and to hairdressers, he sits in the chair waiting for Anko to finish talking to the hairdresser about what to do and then without out further ado, the hairdresser begins to cut clumps of hair off his head after the hairdresser is done, Riku got to a look of himself in the mirror, his hair was cut to his neck with the side bangs reaching just past his mouth and the top of his hair was cut short with bangs being swept to the left side dripping over his forehead and just above his eyes, with lots of loose hair spiking out.
"Look at you, told ya there was a charming young boy underneath that scruffy hair. Now to finish off with getting you some clothes," says Anko paying the hairdresser and dragging him out of the store and into another.
In a flurry of movement, Anko took clothes off the railings and place them up against Riku to see if they suit him or even fit him, slowly the collection of clothes built up and when Anko finished she pushed Riku into a changing room leaving him to get dress himself up, he comes out of the changing room within a few moments, he had a dark grey undershirt, with dark blue pants tied with a black belt that had a silver buckle, he had black gloves, black tabi boots, a light brown pouch attached to the belt behind him and a light green jacket without sleeves hung over him with the Uchiha symbol on the back.
Riku inspected him self finding multiple pockets inside the jacket, these would be useful for concealing small daggers he thought.
"There we go, now you look like a proper person and not some savage," says Anko nodding to herself; "Now, no ninja is ever complete without their tools."
The two found their way into a shop littered with all kinds of weapons like shurikens and kunai, even Katanas which hung up on the wall, a girl came rushing from the counter to them, she has brown hair and brown eyes, She wears her hair in two Chinese-style buns on her head with short fringe-bangs framing her face. she wears a pink sleeveless qipao-style blouse with red sleeve trimmings and yellow fastening buttons and dark green pants. A pouch is adjusted to her thigh and her forehead protector and sandals are both blue.
She doesn't realise how close she had gotten to the new boy in front of her until a couple of seconds past and she steps back with a blush; "Sorry there, what can I help ya with?"
Riku gives her a quick smile, as Anko pulls out a piece of paper with everything on it; "Just these, thank you."
The girl grabs the piece of paper and disappears to collect all the stuff, leaving Anko and Riku to wait, a man appears behind Anko whispering something in her ear before leaving; "Sorry, kid but the Hokage has summoned me, here take this and buy the stuff I'll be back shortly."
And then Anko disappears as well.
Suddenly, the girl comes back with all the stuff in a bag, she notices that the woman had left; "Here you go,"
Riku grabs the bag and hands the money over to her; "Thank you, by the way, I haven't seen you around here before. Are you a new ninja from a different village or something?"
"No, I was brought here from the forest," says Riku staring at the girl.
"That's cool, I'm Tenten, it seems like we'll be seeing each other more often," says Tenten with a smile.
"Riku Uchiha and I'd be happy to," says Riku before turning around and heading for the door which shows Tenten behind him the Uchiha symbol and the Tanto attached to his lower back.
"An Uchiha?" says Tenten puzzled.
Riku walks out into the street looking at the crowds of people walking back and forth, he checks the amount of money he has left before moving towards another shop where he buys two packets of Pocky sticks, he begins aimlessly walking through the streets with the stick hanging from his mouth.
While he walks down the streets he hears a low sounding scream as if it was muffled, Riku glances around seeing the non-existing reaction from the crowd before running towards the sound.
The scream came from Hinata being pushed up against the wall by a boy around the same age as he in shabby clothes while two others begin patting her down and taking everything with them.
The boy on the right grinned; "Damn this Hyūga clan girl got some good stuff on her. Being rich must be good."
The boy muffling her shouts of help laughs; "It would have been easier to beat her but I guess this is more fun."
The boy on the left was placing something into his pouch before looking up a spotting something in the distance; "Er, hey guys. What's that?"
Everyone, even Hinata turned to the dark dead-end of the alleyway to spot a figure in the dark with two glowing red eyes.
"What the hell? How did they get there? It's a dead-end?" says the boy on the right glancing at the roofs which hung overhead that was miles above them.
"What with their eyes?" asks the one muffling Hinata.
Hinata began shouting and screaming under the boy's hand desperate for help.
The boy muffling Hinata quickly pulls her by her torn jacket giving her a single punch to the gut before pushing her into the left boy; "keep a hold of her, Takahashi."
"Err, yes Suzuki," says Takahashi grabbing hold of Hinata by the waist keeping one of his hands over her mouth; "Please just make this easy on us and you won't get hurt...much."
Suzuki turns around to the other boy; "Get ready, Satō,"
Satō pulls out a kunai as well as Suzuki, the figure places the bag next to the fence before walking into the light revealing himself with a Pocky stick in his mouth and his two tomoe Sharingan, Riku lifted up his hand to his eyes to have only three fingers up; "I give you to the count of three to let her go and runoff."
"One," says Riku drawing one of the fingers in.
"Two."
Suddenly, Suzuki jump forward plunging his fist into Riku's cheek but his eyes shrink in shock, Riku didn't flinch nor did he move, the others gasped while Hinata focused on her saviour.
"Three."
Instantly, Riku grabs Suzuki's arm twisting it against itself before snapping it, Riku's red eyes darted to Satō who came running towards him throwing a kunai at his head, Riku ducked underneath kicking Suzuki's legs from underneath him which slams him into the floor.
Riku begins moving fast as he plants quick and precise punches to Satō's chest which send him backwards, Hinata switches to her Byakugan trying to get a better focus on the fight which lets her see the chakra paths through Riku and the flow of chakra which seems to be immense to the other ninja around their age.
Riku kicks Satō back before turning to Suzuki noticing that he's slight awake, he slams his foot upon his head smashing his face into the floor breaking his nose, Riku plants one foot on the wall pushes himself off to spin in the air and crash his heel against Satō's head knocking him out.
Slowly, Riku turns to Takahashi with the blood-red glowing of his Sharingan, he begins to tremble at the sight, he rushes through his pockets to grab a knife and placing it next to Hinata's neck; "Let me go or she dies!"
Riku began to slowly walk forward and with each step, Takahashi began to shake more and more; "I already gave you a chance to run."
Suddenly, Takahashi lifts the knife preparing to strike Hinata's neck, Hinata closed her eyes in anticipation….
Takahashi lets out an ear-piercing scream as something plunges into his wrist that was around Hinata's neck.
She opens her eyes to find Takahashi letting her go and grabbing the Tanto sticking out of his arm, Hinata dived towards Riku quickly going behind him with a blush, Riku continued to walk towards Takahashi on the ground trying to get the Tanto out of his arm.
Riku steps onto the Tanto pushing it deeper in the boy's arm with him screaming out in pain, Riku removed his foot and then pulled the Tanto out in an instant leaving Takahashi to scream a bloody and sweaty mess, then with a single kick he knocked out Takahashi.
Quickly, Riku collected all of Hinata's stuff before glancing at Hinata spotting her torn and ruined clothes, Riku took off his jacket and then swing it over Hinata's shoulders leaving her to blush deeper. Riku grabbed his bag and began to leave the ally.
Hinata quickly followed Riku out in the public street; "Go on home," says Riku before walking off without his jacket and tucking his bloody Tanto into its sheath.
Walking off Riku focused on the path ahead before Hinata quickly wraps her arms around his chest pulling him in for a hug from behind, she plants a soft kiss to his cheek before whisper; "Thank you."
And with that, she runs off home leaving Riku to think; 'it seems that sure is less shy than I thought,' Riku began walking the street after picking up his bag and sealing into a scroll then putting it in his pocket finding Anko waiting for him.
"Took ya time, Riku," starts Anko; "We have to meet the Hokage now so hurry up."
"The Hokage wants to meet me?" replies Riku
Within only a few minutes, Riku and Anko stood before the Third Hokage who scanned Riku up and down; "So you are the one that managed to survive the massacre and seven years in the forest of death."
"Yes," replies Riku.
"But not just that the Hyūga clan leader himself put in a good word since you protected his daughter, so what do you want to me to do?"
"Tell me who killed everyone in the Uchiha compound."
"Why?"
"So I can kill them," replies Riku coldly.
"Only Ninjas of the leaf are allowed to take up that challenge."
"Then make me a Ninja."
The Third sat and thought for a second before leaning forwards; "Alright, then Anko will become your guardian and your sensei, you'll get your own apartment and you'll join a team, you'll not go against anyone I place on the team. You'll become Team Five."
Riku nods as the Hokage continues; "Then I welcome you, Riku Uchiha to the village hidden in the leaf as a Genin," The Hokage reveals a green headband with the leaf symbol on the metal plate.
Without a single question, Riku takes the headband and wraps it around his head with his hair over the top of it, Riku turned around and walked to the door before taking a sideways glance at the Third Hokage.
"I'll tell you this one time. If anyone gets in my way of finding this Itachi Uchiha, I'll rip and tear through them until I get to him. Then I'll show him hell."
