It was night time in an oasis behind the palace of Gomorrah, Mathayus, Cassandra, Arpid, Philos and Princess Isis stood staring down at the spot in a sandpit where the Moon Scorpion lay on its back, a large gash on its belly. The scorpion had been attacked by Memnon who wanted to destroy the people of Gomorrah by taking out a spirit that they relied on. Philos reached down to pick it up, but it was limp in his grasp. Princess Isis was truly devastated as she said, "There's no hope now." She looked down, sounding defeated when she added, "It's over."

The mood changed Mathayus' face became stern as he opened his eyes and revealed them to be glowing. Then with the voices of his past lives he said, "No. It is not over."

Cassandra tried to stop him as Mathayus moved to the middle of the sandpit, but Philos stopped him before her. Walking into the middle of the sandpit, Mathayus placed a fist in his other palm. Emerging from the sand was the Desert Scorpion. The spirit walked around him before stopping before the Akkadian. As Mathayus' glowing eyes looked to it and it back, the scorpion's eyes began to glow as well. His friends watched him with wide eyes in awe. Then, Mathayus disappeared under the sand. A moment later, blue cracks appeared under the oasis, giving a little color to a gloomy setting. The glow spread out to the rest of the city, causing all battles to stop and look to its source. It also instilled two things in friend and foe alike: hope and fear, respectively.

The four of Mathayus' friends looked to their right to see something moving under the sand and make its way to the palace. The glow in the sand moved all the way to the end of the sandy canal before it turned into a huge column. When it reached to top, the sand turned into a manifestation that was crossed between Mathayus and the Sand Spirit Scorpion. Its main body was that of a scorpion, but Mathayus' head, torso and arms also accompanied it. The Sand Manifestation had four arms, each equipped with scorpion pincers. A long tail stood high over the body while an orb of light was within the manifestation's chest. Mathayus raised his arms and in turn so did the manifestation.

The enemy soldiers and those of Gomorrah looked in awe as the manifestation started crawling down towards them. When it passed a street that had both allies and enemies alike, those who were on the manifestation's side bowed in respect to it. But the enemy soldiers pointed their weapons at it, and with a wave of his arm, Mathayus sent a wave of sand to pull the enemy soldiers under. Mathayus continued to wave his arms around, making the manifestation do the same and it sent a huge cloud of sand that knocked enemy troops back. As the manifestation continued on its way, it was struck in the head by a boulder before raising an arm to block and incoming volley of arrows. The projectiles disappeared into the manifestation before being dropped out the bottom of the arm. Then with another wave of its arm, it sent a dust cloud that completely overtook the soldiers and their war machines. The manifestation then continued on its way down the main path ways as the soldiers of Gomorrah bowed as it passed by. The enemy soldiers started to retreat from the loosing battle and the Sand Manifestation turned itself into a glowing sand cloud while moving to the outer wall.

Back at the oasis, Philos gently placed the Moon Scorpion back in the sandpit. Cassandra sounded truly devastated as she said, "Its dead."

All four of them hung their heads in sorrow from the loss of the spirit. Philos glanced to Princess Isis and noticed something about her. He gasped when he could see it and said, "You have been touched by the Moon Scorpion. Some of its life is in you."

"Yes," Princess Isis said as she looked to him, "you're right." She knew that it was true as she said, "It gave me life." Knowing what she had to do she sounded ready, "Maybe I can give it back."

"No." Arpid said as she stood up. Standing up himself, he grabbed her hand and told her, "You don't have to do that."

"It's my duty, Arpid ." Princess Isis said while not looking back. Arpid didn't want to lose her as he said, "I won't let you." His grip tightened on her hand as he said, "Your father told me to protect you."

"I have to do this." Isis said, making her decision final. She opened her eyes and walked forward. Her hand slipped from his grasp as she moved to Philos. He gently removed the Moon Scorpion from the sandpit again and held it with its wound facing skyward. Princess Isis placed both hands on the scorpion and it glowed bright. Her eyes closed as she could feel her life fading. When the scorpion stopped glowing, Princess Isis let out a sigh as she passed on. Arpid moved to catch her while shouting, "No!"

Arpid then checked to see if she were still breathing, but when he didn't feel anything he looked to the other two and said, "She's gone." He held Princess Isis' unmoving body as he sadly said, "She's gone."

The enemy troops of Memnon were starting to pull back, even trying to pull their war machines back as well. The Sand Manifestation quickly followed and took its form again. As it placed its four pinchers on four of the war machines, it used a great strength to knock them down. The soldiers standing around the war machines were crushed from the rubble. The taller pieces also crashed into other war machines. Mathayus moved the Sand Manifestation and used its arms again to block another volley of arrows on a movable tower before using the other arms to destroy the structure. The soldiers held on and cried out as they fell to the ground. With another swipe of his claws, Mathayus was able to destroy more of the war machines. Mathayus raised his arms to create a massive wave of sand that pushed the soldiers and war machines back away from the city. When they were forced out into the desert, Mathayus moved the manifestation after them.

Back at the oasis, Philos and Cassandra sat around the grieving Arpid as he held the lifeless Isis. The princess's body started to fade to the Spirit World and Arpid opened his eyes when she was fully gone. Both Cassandra and Philos looked in amazement before the Moon Scorpion started to glow. Philos moved to place it back in the sandpit. The Moon Scorpion burrowed itself back into the sand and then entire sandpit started to glow as well. A mist rose up and took the form of the spirit of Princess Isis. Her eyes trembled in sadness, but came in close to say, "Goodbye, Arpid." Placing her hands on both sides of his face, she said, "I will always be with you."

Then she kissed him one last time. Arpid kissed back before her spirit faded. He opened his eyes to find that she had disappeared and looked up into the sky. They all looked up to see the moon return, bringing color back into the night.

The Sand Manifestation stood at the front gates of Gomorrah, ready to finish the battle. But the manifestation's head looked up when it noticed something different about the sky. Both the Sand Scorpion and Mathayus saw that the moon was back in its place in the sky. Mathayus' gaze softened as the manifestation retreated back to the city. The Sand Scorpion spirit came up to the wall and extended itself to drop Mathayus off. When he was fully released by the spirit, Mathayus' eyes stopped glowing and he clutched his head.

Author's Note: And my second and final Mathayus in place of Aang is done. I would have liked to go on further, but I thought it would be best to stop this right here. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
