The price of a heir

This is my first The Dragon Prince story. It's an alternate storyline the summary is instead of assassinating Ezran the elves kidnap him and offer him to Zubeia blood, cussing, near death experiences, violence and so on please enjoy and leave a review.

Chapter 1 Mission success.

"Lord Viren, Claudia anyone!" Callum yelled entering Virens study as the moonshadow elf caught up to him pushing Callum into the he fell towards the desk dropping his bag and scroll facing the elf as she walked in with an angry look on her face as she had been tricked her blades by her sides "You don't have to die" she said walking forward towards Prince Callum "There are only targets tonight" She said approaching Callum with an angry but firm voice.

"What two?, what do you mean?" Callum asked clutching his head eyeing the elf "I'm here for the king and I'm also here for his son Prince Ezran" She said making Callum's face change colour "You can't that's not fair, Why would you hurt someone who's done nothing wrong?" Callum asked realizing that not only his King Harrow is in danger tonight but also his son, Callum's baby brother as well "Humans cut down the King of the Dragons and destroyed his only egg The Dragon Prince" said the elf as he placed her sword underneath Callum's chin forcing him to stand up as the blade rested against his skin "Justice will not be denied" She said.

Callum gulped as he felt his necklace vibrate closing his eye and clutching the side of his head as he inhaled deeply "Well in that case you have…" Callum said before a child-like voice called his name "Callum… Callum" said the voice making Callum close his eyes and flinch as the elf looked around "Alright who's there?" she asked as the painting to the side of the wall opened up revealing Ezran holding his glow-toad Bait in his arms.

"Ah Callum what's going on?" Ezran asked eyeing the girl with the sword held at Callum's neck as she eyed Ezran in return "RUN!" Callum yelled as he charged the elf, knocking her down as Ezran pulled the painting closed and ran away down the cocielded corridor with Bait lighting the way.

The elf's swords had clattered loudly on the floor as she and Callum wrestled each other on the castle ground, Callum had the elf pinned in a arm lock but knocked him in the head with her elbow dislodging Callum's grip making him lean to his side as the elf picked up one of her swords charging Callum she struck him with her sword making him scream loudly his voice echoed out through the castle hall's as his blood began to seep out of his body as he held onto the elf's hand "Just… who… the… hell... are... you?" Callum asked between pained gasps as the blade had cut through his ribs missing left lung and somehow missed his heart.

As the elf withdrew her sword leaving a trail of blood she leaned down towards Callum picking up her other sword resting against his shoulder "My name is Rayla and I'm sorry for having to do this" Rayla said standing up hearing footsteps approaching before grabbing a nearby sword off the wall running back into Viren's study closing the door behind her she slid the sword into the hand grips baringi the door shut before pulling the painting door open she ran into the corridor after Prince Ezran.

In the magical store room.

Ezran was panting hard as he pushed down on the statue in the wall making the staircase retracted back up, breathing hard Ezran hoped Callum was okay as he clutched Bait "We shall be safe here hopefully Bait" Ezran said still breathing hard as he eyed the clothed up podium "I still wonder what is alive in that?" Ezran asked Bait as he let out a grunt saying he wished to know.

Ezran froze when he heard the staircase lower itself back down holding his breath as the elf had come down with blood on one of her swords making Erzan let out a loud gasp drawing the attention of the elf "Well… Well… Well… Look who I have found?" Rayla asked as Bait began to glow brightly before flashing but the elf had already shielded her eyes before pouncing onto Ezran wrapping him up in a choke hold.

Ezran let out a loud scream as the elf wrapped her arms around his neck and head restricting his movements kicking Bait to the side in the process "Hush now little one you will see your brother soon not now but soon" Rayla said as Ezran soon passed out in the elf's grasp as she dropped him she noticed the chamber a bit more eying all the magic creatures that had been poached and hunted "Humans are disgusting and evil creatures" she said as she opened her snatchel pulling some rope and clothes.

Back in the hallway.

Callum clutched his chest trying to stop the bleeding as he heard footsteps approach along with the sound of a staff hitting the ground "VIREN, CLAUDIA, OVER HEAR" Callum yelled at the top of his voice as he hoped it was them that were coming towards him as he heard them run watching them turn round the corner to eye Callum on the ground bleeding badly "Callum" Young Prince" they both said in unison "What happened to you?" Claudia asked as she rifled through her snachel as Viren placed his hands on Callum's chest trying to slow the bleeding "The… Elf, The... King ... " Callum said before grunting in pain as Viren pressed a bit too hard on his chest making Callum faint.

Claudia gasped as Callum passed out worried that he was dying she froze slightly "Claudia focus for fuck sake" Viren said snapping Claudia out of her trance as grapped before grabbing a red flower riping the petals of before paling them over Callum's eyes and grabbing two jars she hastly poured some blue goo onto her hand with some leftover petals as she shoved them into Callums mouth "Don't swallow" Viren said as Claudia opened a jar full of wisps "Ydob laeh dna doolb nruter" Claudia chanted standing up waving her hand over Callum as the wisps disappeared.

Katolis courtyard.

Rayla laid Ezran down on the battlements in the courtyard waiting for Runaan and the other's when she heard his voice "Rayla" he said making Rayla standup to face the assassin leader who was very cross with her "You've defied me" Runaan says as he steps out of the shadows with a very angry look on his face as he approached Rayla "What do you have to say for yourself young lady?" he asked angrily.

"Let's just say I've redeemed myself" Rayla replied smugly dragging Prince Ezran out from hiding who was sound asleep making Runaan's jaw drop "You have caught him by yourself?" Runaan asked as he noticed the red stains on one of her swords "Who spotted you?" He asked standing up drawing his bowblade "It was his brother and I had to kill him" Rayla replied as the other Moonshadow elves arrived.

Ezran let out a muffled moan in his restraints before rolling over "Active sleeper isn't he" Said another assassin as Runaan placed a moon pedant around his neck as their shadows suddenly stood out on the castle battlements "It's time" Runaan said standing up as the full moon appeared Rayla put Ezran over her shoulders "I'll meet you at the border…" Rayla said as a horn echoed out through the castle making the elves freeze "Did you hide the body?" Runaan asked in a hushed whisper making Rayla go pale.

"You have doomed us all" said another elf to Rayla while Runaan was notching an arrow looking at the king's tower as Harrow suddenly ran out of his chambers with his sword in his hand "ELVES… I HAVE YOUR..." he yelled as the elves turned to face Harrow, Runaan released his arrow and watched it strike Harrow in his throat then they watched him fall over his balcony and down onto the pavement below.

Just before the full moon.

Viren and Claudia and rushed Callum into the king Harrow's bedroom who had drawn his sword prepared for the assassin's attack only to see Viren and Claudia bring Callum to him as he was barely conscious his shirt was stained with blood his left arm hanging limply by his side "What happened to Callum?" King Harrow asked in an upset yet angry voice "We found him like this outside my study he said king and elf" Viren said in a concerned tone making Harrow change colour as he realized what had happened "Find Ezran now…" Harrow said as Viren left to tell the guards Callum grabbed Harrow's arm "Dad… Wait " Callum said in a weak tone making Harrow look down at Callum while Claudia was busy tendering to Callum's left arm.

Harrow leaned down to Callum "It's ok son you're safe here we'll find Erzan soon…" Harrow said before Callum interrupted "No it's not that" Callum said with a grunt of pain clutching his left side "Callum shush your hurt badly" Claudia said as she felt what was still wrong with Callum's arm as Harrow placed a finger on Callum's lips as he shook his head side to side making Harrow lean closer to Callum placing his hand on Callum's chest feeling for the necklace in his blood stained shirt as Callum let out a weak moan of pain while Harrow grab Callum's necklace feeling for any presence of Ezran.

As Harrow closed his eyes he saw Ezran's body in his head outside the tower on the lower battlements outside as Claudia went through her book for another healing spell he ran out the balcony door yelling out before he went silent while Claudia watched him fall over the battlements "No, HARROW!" Claudia screamed as the arrow appeared on the other side of his neck.

Shortly after.

As the elves watched Harrow fall to the ground they all stood embracing their magic they all turned invisible along with Ezran "Let's go and may the Queen finally know some peace" Runaan said as they snuck out of Katolis with their bounty acquired and their mission completed.

A/N: Don't shoot the messenger for this one this something i've only come up with this it's a work in progress.

Things to note:

moon pedant that Runaan put around Ezran's neck allows any non magical creature to turn invisible (mine own idea)
