"The mecha mecha no mi?!" she squeaked.
"SHHH, BE QUIET!" the middle aged man in front of the shocked teenager whisper yelled, "I want you to have it, okay, but you gotta keep it on the low."
The girl, as quiet as a mouse blinked a few times rapidly while looking away, 'making sure there were no eavesdroppers,' answered with a haughty, "Hmph, I suppose I could do so, to reward your efforts."
The man ignored her and leaned in close, with a glare on his face that promised pain if the teen girl rejected his demand, "You got it, right? You won't do anything stupid, like display it to the entire village, right?" he asked suspiciously. If it had been any lesser man, they wouldn't have these worries. Fortunately, he was no lesser man, he was a pirate. Krul Tepes, the girl everybody in this village knew, simply due to her circumstances, was known to be clever and logical, it wouldn't make sense to suspect her of going around displaying all of her powers like a bragger.
But Almer knew otherwise. Krul was simply a very innovative girl with a good imagination, and no care at all for privacy. If she got struck with inspiration in the middle of the village's market square, she would simply pick out all the ingredients or items she needed, and start working on making her idea a reality at the closest, most convenient spot she could find. And he had managed to pick up on this, despite only using this island as a base for four months.
And currently, she looked completely offended as she tilted her head, "Why would I?"– she asked, before smirking at the man, the way you would when your friend makes a completely nonsensical comparison, while convinced they are correct, until you completely prove them wrong –"Almer, I suspected there to be a sliver of intelligence in you, but I guess I was wrong.."
"Urusei! Eat the goddamn fruit!" He yelled out loud angrily, as he shoved the apple sized gold and silver coloured blueberry into the little lady's mouth. He was goddamn lucky he found it while she was still young, the younger you are when you eat a devil fruit, the more time you have to get used to it, and explore its possibilities, and she better be goddamn grateful! He spent three months looking for it, and two hundred million beri in total just for the information that led him to it.
She almost choked on it, but like he had seen many others do before, she managed to swallow the fruit whole. Devil fruit magic is amazing. She had tears leaking out corners of her eyes and was panting heavily as she glared and pointed at Almer's face with justified wrath, "You bastard, were you trying to kill me?!"
"Huh? What was that? I think I heard the sound of ungratefulness coming from a certain someone's mouth, a mouth that I just fed one of the most powerful devil fruits I know of to, but that must have just been my imagination, right?" Almer turned sharply, and coldly looked into the pinkette's eyes, "Right?"
The young lady flinched, but nodded without hesitation, "Y-Yeah, your imagination must be running wild today. It makes sense, considering you wildly stuffed a gian– owowowow- Stop it!" she tried in vain to escape from the knuckles grinding into the sides of her skull painfully, before she was finally, after what seemed like an eternity, spared the torture.
Almer leaned against one of the many trees surrounding them, "Anyways, Krul, you should already know this, but the amount of potential that fruit has is completely limitless. Literally, there is no limit. Do you understand what that means?"
The teen crossed her arms over her chest and scoffed, "Hmph, isn't that obvious. Being able to turn any part of my body into any machinery I can think of, even if I only have the image in mind, is stupidly limitless."
"Good, then I guess" –Almer grinned brightly with his eyes closed, right as the sun was setting behind him, making for a very picturesque scene– "that it's high time I return to the sea!"
This scene, both the memories, the emotions –both the happy ones that came with it, and the sadness that came with his absence that she awaited–, and the power he gave to her, simply because he wanted to…
This was something she couldn't ever forget, even if she wanted to. She had so many sad memories, that they accentuated the happiness she felt.
~oOo~
She simply had to create a mental blueprint of how she wants the machinery to look, and what exactly she wants the machine to do, the devil fruit handles the rest. It would turn whatever part of her body she wanted into it. But the energy the machinery uses to function was her own stamina, meaning she had to take into account energy efficiency, and ways to heighten it. For example, she couldn't just think that she wanted an arm cannon that fired beams, because she did not know how one would work, and if the blueprint was that loose, the devil fruit would make a cannon that relied solely on her stamina to function, instead of the machine she built. Another example would be, if you just wanted to shoot wind, you could make a canon in your arm that created and fired wind, but that would be inefficient. Instead, she could make a powerful fan to fulfill the exact same thing, it would just be less exhausting.
Maybe this devil fruit wasn't as overwhelmingly powerful as she thought, considering you need an insane amount of stamina for higher end machines, you'd also need knowledge on technology and machinery to pull off some more advanced stuff, along with imagination for creating something brand new..
She didn't consider herself particularly imaginative.
Currently, she was studying memory cards that the world government uses to store digital copies of paperwork, which they write and produce through the help of an invention called, a 'computer'. Personally, she has never seen one, but she could understand the principle after giving a few books a read. The memory card itself was intriguing, in how it could store information, and if she was correct, she could possibly create a photographic memory using her devil fruit.
Which is why she was currently attempting to learn as much as possible about digital memory, so that she could make an, as compact, and as powerful memory as she possibly could. Cameras were common knowledge, so it could wait. She would complete this, and then she would start experimenting with offensive and defensive abilities.
"Now then… there are two types of memory in a computer, auxiliary memory, and main memory… hmm.."
~oOo~
The memory card, or, at least a very bulky prototype, was finished. Since she didn't want to accidently somehow delete all her real memories, she turned her hand into the card, and was currently comparing what she had made, to real ones from pictures. Apparently she had made a mistake with how she wanted the main memory to process, which is why her devil fruit adapted, thus made it work, but also made it much much slower than she had intended.
The auxiliary memory was now capable of storing 10 gigabytes of information, which is good, but she needed a change of plans. She didn't know how much storage was necessary for the entire human brain, so she wanted to create something that can make her calculate and process information better, so she could experiment on her own and find out.
That is why she was currently studying calculators, main memory, and binary. All of the 1s and 0s were fairly confusing to her, but it did not take all that long for her to grasp the general concept behind it, and how it worked. Only a few weeks.
Oh, and as of yet, the people of the village have not seen her devil fruit powers at all.
She wanted to be finished with at least, the current projects she had in mind, and a few offensive weapons, and shields. She also wanted to fly, but that would probably be much harder, so she decided to shelf that until she was free, and had time to experiment somewhere where she wouldn't get disturbed.
She was forced to conduct all of her experiments at home, after all, and it got pretty lonely sometimes, so she wanted to be done with the photographic memory project soon.
She sighed as she flipped open the next book, and she placed the last one on the giant pile next to her.
~oOo~
Finally, two years later and she could now confidently claim to have perfected the Process Calculator, which is a heavily advanced calculator that calculates not only normal math, but it can calculate the outcome of situations, taking into account variables such as enemies, allies, health, whether the enemy has a devil fruit, how strong everyone in the calculation is, etc, but it's not just a tool for combat. It is, in essence, an extremely complicated helper to the brain, meaning, anything the brain attempts to calculate or process, the Process Calculator, or for short, the PC does for the brain at super speed.
"Fuwaaaaaahhhhh~~! I did it~!" Krul was overjoyed as she stretched as if she had been sitting still nonstop for the last two years, and this might not actually be that much of a stretch, if not for the fact that she had made it a priority to always go out running around the island until she could barely walk, every evening. She needed the stamina. But finally, she had reached a great milestone, now she just needed to put it into action.
She went over her notes one last time, even though she had it all perfectly memorized.
She had been able to create the ocular upgrades nearly a year ago, they were the easy part, and until then she had been merely putting them off, so she could have actually been finished earlier. Luckily she had been getting new ideas every now and then, and had included many new functions, like the lock on, night vision, or the highlight functions.
The PC was perfectly ready, and had been triple checked around a hundred times. She knew what she had to do, and now was prepared, to for the first time, alter her body in a way she intended to be permanent, not including the upgrades she would probably do on them.
Turns out it wasn't such a breeze. The mental pressure of experimenting on your own eyes and brain was more like, walking through a tornado. Her breaths were shaky, and her knees were tapping each other every now and then due to her trembling.
"Okay, Krul Tepes, calm down.. Breath in, uwiiiii, fuuuu…" she felt silly at the breathing sound effects, but it helped calm her nerves. She clenched her fists, still shaking, but her mind was clear. As long as her mental, her conscious was not shaky, then this would work with no side effects. As long as her image was clear.
With encouraging thoughts, she went through every single word on her notes mentally, as she slowly closed her eyes, and let the devil fruit do it's work, as the image of her eyes, the beautiful crimson irises she had always loved, surrounding a pupil, not fully black, but a highly advanced camera lens, something you could only really tell if you looked up close, otherwise it would look like a slightly lighter black pupil. She already knew all of the functions, the appearance was now set as well. She imagined the brain, from all of the plastic models, to all of the pictures she had seen in books. She knew where the PC would be placed in order to not get in the way of brain functions or harm her, where the wires leading to the eyes would fit, and exactly how it would function. In fact, it would barely take any stamina at all, since the PC is merely an aid to already existing mental functions. Calculation, and understanding through faster processing of information. That is all it did.
It only took a minute for the extremely complicated pieces of machinery to be integrated, painlessly, and smoothly.
When she opened her eyes, a whole new world, visible to only her revealed itself, as the machinery started operating without hesitation.
Upon seeing the wooden walls of her little house, and suddenly getting bombarded with information, like how much breeze is being let through, how long it would take for the walls to break, how durable the walls were, their height, width, how thick they were, how… everything the walls were…
...Krul fainted from information overload.
~oOo~
"Awhhh, this is a formidable foe indeed.. My head…" Krul whined as she woke up for the nth time. The second she woke up after her first… accident, Krul, obviously opened her eyes. That is what you commonly do when you wake up, correct? But, considering how poor of a morning person this girl was, she forgot about that happening for the first few seconds of her consciousness returning. It resulted in the unexpected fainting, again.
And this happened, over, and over, and over again, until now, when she can suddenly, finally gaze upon her home with only as much as a very painful headache.
The information was constantly pouring in, no matter what she looked at, and she was getting used to this, which is a relief. If this kept going on, she would never be able to leave her bed, she would starve. It's a dog eat dog world out there, Krul realized. Either you conquer the PC, or it conquers you.
But now, she could FINALLY speed up her experiments. She was 15 already, and needed this more than anything. This wasn't just a milestone. This could change her everything, because she could now read a page of a book with only a glance, instantly processing the information, and then she could handle her calculations of her photographic memory card project while doing her stamina training, because her calculation strength and speed is basically god-mode compared to how slow and possibly incorrect it previously was.
Now she only needed a few things. More books on computers, a few books on the brain, and then books on machines, weaponry, and different materials, and she could leave as soon as she finished her projects!
Finally, she could almost feel her future ship wobbling below her feet. Actually, now that she thought about it, maybe she could get a few books about boats. Not to turn into a boat, since she would still be a hammer in water, but to perhaps enhance, or build one.
With that in mind, she made a mental note to visit the library later, but for now, to go out running, and start calculating just how large of a memory she would need to for her photographic memory card project. She already had two parts completed. The eyes that the memory will be connected to, and the PC that will better process everything so that she doesn't have any misunderstood or confused memories.
And with the completed Super PC Card, as she decided to name the finished creation, she will then be able to copy all forms of mechanical and technological inventions, and understand them, so that she could then upgrade and innovate her own.
Krul planned on leaving for her adventure on her 17th birthday, mainly because Almer told her that that was when he left for his, as all great pirates did. Apparently, even Gold Roger himself became a pirate at the age of 17! So in another two years, she had to create her Super PC Card, she had to create weapons and machines enough to protect herself, and she had to learn a bit about ships and other forms of machinery and technology.
Krul knew she could do it, though.
~oOo~
The idea Krul had suddenly gotten one day, in order to progress her Super PC Card project, was to actually see just how much storage space one day of recording everything she saw and heard was. Of course, this would, in the end only satisfy two fronts of everything that the human brain remembers over one day, but it would be a good start. Recording more complex things, like thoughts, pain, the sense of touch, smell, or hunger would take a lot more experimentation.
But a walk of a thousand miles, start with a single step.
So what she decided to do, was to put on earrings that would record sound at a high quality, and glasses that would record everything she saw. All of this recording would be saved onto a 1 terabyte memory card she had attached to her back, and then when she was about to go to sleep, she would stop recording, and the day after, would confirm just how much storage her Super PC Card needed, with loose guesses made by the PC's superb calculation prowess, while taking into account every single plausible income of memories.
The glasses were half-circle framed sunglasses, to hide the dark lenses, and the earrings looked like simple black orbs that looked like they were were fitted to completely surround the earlobe, but in fact, Krul simply transformed her earlobes into them. Her eyelashes were used to create the glasses, as no one would find them missing, as she didn't plan on removing the glasses.
And this was only how it started.
The experiment of this day was very bountiful, and in the end, after two months of advanced testing of different ways to make this more effective, she finally reached the conclusion that she would not be able to make a memory card that big. Instead, she had to make one as good as possible, and make it filter out unnecessary information.
The filter was the easy part. The devil fruit would take care of complicated stuff like programming, while she merely needed to know exactly how she wanted it to work, what she wanted filtered, and what was considered important, while she herself decided what she wanted to transform, and the looks of the memory card.
At the time of the completion of the Super PC Card, only 1 year, and 8 months remained.

Please tell me if this chapter sucked or felt rushed. I felt kind of rushed during the last part of it, since I couldn't figure out what to write without acting like a huge info-dump.
Just imagine her appearance to be the same as Krul Tepes from Seraph of the End. I'm unoriginal like that.
Anyway, I am so goddamn surprised no mecha mecha no mi fanfictions have been done yet. The inspiration for this fic are Schwi or Shuvi from No Game No Life Zero, and right after I watched the movie for the nth time, I saw a reddit post about the mecha mecha no mi, which I thought was an incredibly unoriginal devil fruit, until I realized no one has made a fanfiction of it.
Why not be the one myself? I mean, I feel like that's basically all my fanfiction's appeal. The guy who writes fanfiction with a trash nonexistant upload schedule, whose every story has an mc with a cool power.
Leave a review, whether it's about some cool technological mecha ability I could use, or just a question, or even future crew members. I read them all.
I hope some of you who have read my past fics remember the fact that I don't do harem, nor do I do weakling MCs or damsels in distress.
Cya next time.
