"I told you shouldn´t step on it." Kelsia said while she sat down. "It´s my private gamemaking area of work in my house."
"Oh, sorry" Chickadee wasn´t used to this. He was usually a kid who was punished because he existed and he didn´t like it. "Am I a horrible person for stepping into the line?"
"No no no, don´t feel bad darling. You are a good kid." Kelsia was a good woman. After his mother got arrested due to abusing him with punches and making him go to the hospital, and his father tried to stop her from getting arrested and couldn´t do it, Chickadee felt different. He didn´t feel attached to them anymore since he got reaped and went to the capitol. He felt like a free man.
Sure, he felt bad for them, and he would like to see Nurse Helma sometime soon anyways, but he was happy.
Happy. That wasn´t he can remember no time being. Since the Head Gamemaker adopted her, in what he believes was an act fulfilled due to guilt, he knows a lot about it, he has a new life and a Capitol citizenship.
He wanted to laugh to his old bullies and classmates. They are envious of him now, he is sure.
"The bloodbath is about to start" Ms Kell had decided to stay at home with him this time, leaving someone else to do the main job of the gamemakers.
He saw Jackob rise to an canteen. He heard that schools usually had it, but the District Twelve one didn´t.
He saw Briar feeling agitated. His district partner had been a bit condescending to him, but she was still a good person who didn´t deserve to die. He hoped that fi Jack or Will didn´t win, that she will win.
He saw William look around. There weren´t usual weapons in the Arena, only school stuff.
Chickadee was sure Jack and Will would come out of it alive. He wasn´t sure about Briar, but she will probably survive a little before dying.

"NO NO NO NO NO" Chickadee screamed and started to cry. Kelsia hugged him and told her she was sorry her friend was gone when Acacia snapped his neck in full on national television.

Chickadee cried and the worst was that he didn´t blame the capitol or Ms Kell or the president. No, he blamed her mother from making him take lots of tesserae. If it wasn´t for that… He wouldn´t be in so much pain.
He hated her and wished she was dead.
