So I'm no good with beginnings, just not my strong suit. I do this as a hobby not a job- please keep that in mind if you leave a review. I respect criticism but I didn't come back to be belittled and will not tolerate it.
It had been a relatively quiet patrol, it was nearing 3 AM now, Leo was quite relieved, it had seemed things had been chaotic with the foot for the past three nights, he had thought it was going to lead to something big- but it seemed like he was wrong. Thankfully.
That's when Don's energy tracker picked up something strange. He pulled out his shell cell in curiosity, "looks like my radar has picked up a massive energy source, seems like it's coming from west side, some kind of abandoned warehouse from the looks of it."
With that the turtles made their way to the sight of the building in relative ease as they flipped and sprinted across the dimly lit roofs.
Once they arrived, they looked through the glass sky light of the building, making sure to keep low as they looked down into the place. Sure enough it was none other than Baxter Stockman standing in front of what looked to be a small girl strapped to a medical table.
Leo rounded the skylight to get a better look of the whole room, a large screen with a live stream video of Shredder towered over the scene.
Raph clapped, "Finally, some action, lets go."
An evident growl was heard as Leo put a hand on Raphs shoulder, "hold on, we need to think this through before we barge in. Look- it's obvious once we go in we are going to be ambushed quickly, Shredder is watching whatever is about to go down. Besides.. Something's off. This almost seems..planned."
Mikey burst into the conversation, blue eyes shimmering with concern, "Even if that's true, we can't just wait and see what Stockman does to that little girl, we gotta save her Leo!"
"For once, I agree with Mikey." Raph concluded.
Leo sighed, giving in as he looked down to the girl, he nodded and gestured over to Donatello, "any way you can get us through this glass without a scene?"
Don beamed, "leave it to me!" With that he pulled out what looked to be a small laser pointer, the gang looked unimpressed- that is until he turned it on, cutting through the glass like butter as he applied a large suction cup to the center of the massive circle he was cutting. Don lifted the glass chunk carefully as the others made their way inside.
Thankfully, directly under the sky light was a small loft to the room, once each turtle was down, they hid behind a mass of boxes- the situation felt too easy, Leo was skeptical and paranoid. Something wasn't right here. But what?
He ignored that gut feeling as he listened in on Stockman and Shredders conversation, "You know stockman, they say if you can't beat them, join them, I think these wretched turtles would agree to that."
Leo's blood ran cold as he looked over at his brothers, their eyes also wide as they tensed.
"He...knows we are here?" Mikey let out softly.
That's when the loft buckled, the brothers falling to the ground, recovering quickly.
The image of stockman and hostage glitched out as they landed.
Don huffed, "A hologram! Why didn't I notice before?!"
Although the large screen which depicted a fully armored Shredder was still ever present.
"I have grown tired of this silly game turtles, for years you have gotten in my way, and tonight- that ends here."
With that, the screen went blank, leaving the turtles shrouded in darkness, the only lighting in the room was that of the full moon coming through the sky light. It was enough for the turtles as they backed up shell to shell, each looking around, waiting for a full blown ambush.
It never came.
Instead a small hissing was heard, that's when Don noticed tiny droplets falling from the sprinkler system of the warehouse ceiling. "Guys...we better get out of here, now."
Raph grunted, "And what if they are outside waiting for us, what then?"
A laugh echoed throughout the building, Shredder, "this was my favorite part of this plan you know, watching you filth struggle, wondering how you will die, such a hopeless feeling."
Leo ignored the taunting, refusing to let the enemy raise panic, in that moment he remembered an old saying from Master Splinter, "Do not let the unknown deter your resolve, young Leonardo."
He shook his head from the memory, "Whatever is on the other side of these doors is a better alternative than getting poisoned, odds are this isn't water we're dealing with so let's go! We've got this if we stay together!"
So with that, the band of brothers ran towards the nearest exit, fully expecting it to be locked, as it was, Don once again reached into his duffel bag and pulled out a small device, attaching it to the door, and bracing. The device exploded within seconds but to no avail, their only exit was blocked.
"We're just going to have to climb back out the sky light! Quickly!"
Each brother stood on each others shoulders expertly, letting Leo on the top, he climbed onto the roof with ease and got out a long cut of rope, letting it down for the others to use one by one, Don, then Raph, finally Mikey, as the orange clad was halfway up though, the unexpected happened.
The sky light shut immediately, a metal door slid across the glass so fast that it instantly cut the rope Mikey was climbing.
The brothers didn't have a chance to react as the metal slid across their baby brothers only exit. The image of their baby brother reaching up at them in fear forever etched into their minds.
"Mikey!"
A shout, a thud.
Mikey sat up, stunned, "the shell…" it didn't take him long to recover and realize he was in deep trouble, he coughed as the mist turned into a gas, the room was warming uncomfortably now as he got up and tried desperately to find another exit throughout the large room. To no avail, finally he fell to his knees as the hazy gas filled his lungs.
He was in agonizing pain at this point. He knew he was going to die in that instant, tears filled his eyes as he shouted, "I love you guys!"
He didn't know if his brothers could hear him, he hoped they could, these felt like his last words after all.
Meanwhile…Shredder's lair:
Shredder was furious as he held Stockman by his throat in the air, "You fool! I give you one simple task and you can't even manage to do that right!"
Stockman trembled as he gasped for air, "I-I'm sorry sir! This plan was so sudden! It was hard enough getting every exit shut off- the system delayed for some reason! The metal plating should have covered the exit sooner than it did!"
Throwing the shaking scientist to the wall, Shredder fumed, "cursed turtles, no matter, one is better than none, and it appears to be the youngest of the four...we can use this to our advantage. When one of them falls, they are always soon to follow."
Back at the warehouse…
Raph unsuccessfully pulled and beat at the only thing between him and baby brother, already feeling guilty along with the others, since when didn't they let Mikey go first? They had been so out of sorts that they hadn't thought of the worst case scenario- and that truly was losing Mikey.
Seeing blood seep from Raphael's knuckles Leo stopped him as he raised his fist one more, "Raph! Snap out of it, we gotta think of something else quickly!"
Don, who had been silent since the metal closed over was currently tinkering with the same laser pointer he had before, it had originally been a normal cat toy laser pointer- Don had managed to tweak it into that of a laser cutter. And currently he was trying desperately to increase the caliber of the lasers precision. "If i can just direct the lasers energy into a more focused point I think it can cut through this material! I-I just need more time!"
Raph growled, "Mikey doesn't have time!" He sounded so broken, so panicked.
Another ten minutes, "Got it!" Don made his way to the metal plating, bringing the laser point directly infront of it , praying this worked. Sure enough the metal, although slowly, started to singe.
It was an agonizing fifteen minutes before Don could make a big enough hole for the brothers to fit into- even then it was difficult.
Finally, they landed swiftly, coughing as the gas/mist cleared out of the exit into the crisp air.
They looked around in panic, scouting each wall, until an audible gasp was heard from Donatello, Leo and Raph ran over to find a horrific scene.
There lay a turtle shell- with no turtle, but a a small lanky human instead.
"M-Mikey?"
Chapter one! Cowabunga dudes!
