Percy's Earthly Ascension

How many days was it when Percy's mother died? 3. How many times had Percy cried? Too much to count. Camp Half-Blood wasn't the refuge he had been hoping for. He'd expected a small functioning town, as this was supposedly the 'safe haven of the demigods'. All he'd gotten was a small summer camp run by a despotic god. It's hard to make a good impression on new people when the first thing the guy who runs the camp says is "Great, another whelp in the Hermes cabin."

Luckily, Percy had been able to cry in peace after the first two days. At the lunch table Percy had been claimed by Poseidon. Judging by people's astonished looks he guessed that was a rarity but he had never assumed he wasn't supposed to exist. Fortunately, as all demigods have ADHD, they quickly forgot about him the next day, or simply didn't care enough about him. Occasionally he would catch some campers staring at him, but they would quickly look away. Chiron however, vowed to train Percy well for whatever fate threw his way.

Laying in his bed at night, Percy tried to find a dry spot on his pillow. He couldn't stop crying about his mother. Even the slightest thought of her sent him into another crying fit. Eventually, he'd run out of tears to cry and fall asleep. This night seemed to be no different.

An hour and a half later, he finally fell asleep.

Perseus… A voice whispered. Percy was awake in his bed, but something seemed off. Sitting up, he moved his hand but found it to be moving too slowly. It blurred as he waved it in front of his face. "What the-" he said, before stopping. Did the Hermes cabin kids slip something in his food again? Or was he dreaming?

Perseus… The voice whispered, louder this time. Percy turned around and nearly jumped out of his covers. A massive face was on the floor, made entirely out of the dirt. The eyes were closed and there were no nostril holes.

Good… You're awake… A soft sound was coming out of the face but the dirt wasn't moving.

My apologies… I'm still quite sleepy at the moment… I am Gaia, primordial of the Earth…

The word primordial sent Percy's alarms ringing. Anything to do with gods was definitely bad, let alone a primordial.

Do not be afraid… I am not here to hurt you… I am here… to offer a deal…

"W-Why me?" Percy spluttered. He didn't want to deal with anymore bullshit.

You are special… Percy… A child of Poseidon will synergize the best… Poseidon was called the Earthshaker… you know… I am here tonight… because Uranus threatens me… he is raising an army in the skies… to descend upon me… I need your help Perseus...

There was a pause before she spoke again.

My offer is simple… I need to raise an army… of my own… the divinity we have now will not cut it… I need a new generation of divine beings… one much stronger to take on Uranus… I will need someone to do this for me…

There was another pause, this one much longer.

I am still very tired… I need to continue sleeping soon… make preparations… Here is my deal: I will grant you divine powers… from the Earth and others… in return… you must breed me a new generation… use any demigod or god you wish… my divinity flowing inside you will make their offspring strong enough to form a new army… do you accept?

"I-..." Percy sat there for a minute. It was a lot of information to process. He wasn't sure if what he was doing was exactly right… but… life had fucked him over, and he needed any advantage he could get. Also, did any god offer him help or power? No. Primordial she may be, she was the only divine being who had even helped him or spoke to him without insulting him. And from what he knew, Gaia was a really fucking strong being. The primordial of the Earth was definitely a good ally to have. He just needed to make sure he wasn't going to be bound to her like a slave, though he doubted it. Her terms of the deal weren't that bad. She literally was telling him to go fuck every demigod and goddess he could get his hands on. As a virgin boy of 18, this was literally one of his fantasies come true.

You know… your mother is still alive… with this power… you could even save your mother…

"What!? Where is my mom!?" Percy asked, eyes widening.

Relax… you will rescue her… in time… I promise...

That clinched it for him. "I-I accept." Percy stated, reaching his hand out. Gaia emitted a low chuckle.

Good...

A tiny tendril of dirt sprouted from the face and slowly rose towards his finger. Out from the tendril emerged a needle. Suddenly, it injected itself inside Percy's fingertip, and Percy could see a dark green liquid being pumped inside. The liquid was boiling hot and thick, moving slowly like molasses. Percy screamed as the liquid poured into his veins, the pain arising to the point he blacked out.

With a gasp, Percy woke up. His whole body felt like it was burning up, and he lay in a puddle of sweat. Looking down at his hands, he saw a faint spot of green in his veins. His heart beat erratically, and Peryc could barely move. There was nothing Percy could do but lay in bed until the feverish heat subsided.

For the next couple of days Percy could barely function. His whole body felt like it was shutting down, his muscles cramping up often, he felt very tired, his vision going blurry, and this general hazy feeling in his mind. Chiron commented on this. "Percy, you need to push yourself harder. It is getting dangerous in these times, especially for a child of Poseidon." At that moment, Percy was more concentrated on keeping his food down.

Percy noticed his blood was becoming greener and greener, slowly blending in with the red in his system. He guessed he was in the process of gaining Gaia's power and becoming a divine being.

Other people noticed his apparent sickness, but decided not to comment. One Apollo camper suggested visiting the medical tent but Percy shook his head. If he did, they would definitely notice his greenish blood and would know something was up. The only good thing about his 'sickness' was that he really couldn't cry at night due to being too tired. The knowledge that she was alive also helped tremendously. Now, he was determined to rescue her.

As fate would be, 6 nights after the injection he was told to go up in the attic of the Big house. Almost stumbling up the staircase, he almost retched when he saw the shriveled corpse of the Oracle. The musty, stale air wasn't helping either. As he neared the Oracle, its mouth opened up and a green gas poured out. A disembodied voice began to speak.

A half-blood of the eldest gods

Shall reach sixteen against all odds

And see the world in endless sleep

The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap

A single choice shall end his days

Olympus to preserve or raze

Percy could barely remember what the prophecy was, and it was said just a few seconds ago. Then he looked at the Oracle again and retched, so hard he blacked out.
