Now, please enjoy! (I've already said it, but anyways (?)
After the nomikai
She stumbled inside as soon as she slipped off her wet shoes, almost tripping, banging herself into the kitchen's wall. She must be really tired, for her to be walking so clumsily. He looked at her worriedly, as he closed the door and took off his own shoes.
"Shinobu, are you okay?"
She spun on her heels, and good thing that the wall was now behind her, or she would have fell down on her back, knocking her head once again. She blinked a few times, before squinting at his general direction, as if she had trouble seeing him clearly. Well, it was dark, lights were still off. He turned them on, and the sudden light caught her by surprise, as she hurriedly covered her eyes with her hands. She soon started to rub them.
"Hum, yes, I'm fine. I'm just… tired. That's all" her answer was soon followed by a loud yawn unsuccessfully hidden.
He hummed in response, setting their bags to dry at the entrance. Her tiredness was expected: it was almost three in the morning. The nomikai had lasted more than he had expected: his colleagues had insisted to make a karaoke contest and they had spent an entire hour looking for a place where they would accept a large group of drunk adults. He himself did not drink that much, as he wasn't a heavy drinker; and he did not let Shinobu have a single drop of alcohol as she legally could not drink yet. But she did sing and dance at the karaoke, which explained why she looked even more tired than him. Adding to the tiring night, it had started to pour on their way back, forcing them to run as fast as they could to escape from the rain. Now that they were inside, they could prepare themselves to rest. Good thing that it was Saturday and none of them was expected to wake up early.
He looked inside his six-tatami apartment, and frowned. The table was still out, with a stock of books and papers scattered on it. He'll have to organize his stuff and put everything away before setting the futon. He looked at Shinobu, who was fighting with herself to stay awake. Even though they had hurried themselves inside, they still got drenched by the rain. Her uniform was soaked, and currently wetting the kitchen's floor. If she stayed like that, she would certainly catch a cold.
"Go take a shower" he told her. "I'll set the futon in the meantime."
"Uh… I don't need a shower" she tried to argue back while supressing another yawn. "I'm fine like this…"
"You will get sick if you keep your wet clothes. Go take a shower" he answered back with a firm voice, even though he was as tired as her.
She spaced out an entire second before nodding with a simple "Okay", almost tripping in her way to the bathroom. She was way too tired to argue with him.
He got her a change of clothes, and after taking her wet clothes for drying and making sure she was conscious enough to take a shower on her own (she will certainly needle him in the morning for that, oh she will), he set to prepare the futon, but not before changing his own clothes first. He too was dripping wet, and neither the prospect of a cold nor the idea of a ruined tatami floor he would certainly have to repay pleased him. So, he changed into dry and more comfortable clothes before putting away academical books and papers he had yet to grade. He put the table into the closet and took out the futon instead. He only had one futon, since his apartment was small, but it was big enough for both of them. Besides, it wasn't the first time they sleep together.
Shinobu was still in the shower, so he sat on the futon, waiting for her to finish, turning on the small TV on the corner to see if there was anything interesting at this hour. Her uniform was hanging by the window, hidden behind his blue tracksuit. His neighbours were rather prone to spread rumours about almost everything, and while he didn't care about what said about him, as long as it was nothing too scandalous, he didn't want Shinobu to be the subject of one.
A few minutes later, Shinobu stepped out of the bathroom. The shower had relaxed her, though she still looked tired. She was wearing the clothes he had lent her: a white t-shirt with a radish in the middle that covered her down to her mid-thighs and a pair of dark blue sweatpants that had shrunken in the washing machine. He got up to be sure she would not stumble on her way to the futon (even though it was literally two steps away from her), but she was quicker and before he could realize she had thrown herself head-first onto the futon.
"Sh-shinobu?!" he asked worried. She had mumbled something, but he didn't hear anything. "What?"
She rolled on her back, and repeated what she said.
"I'm so tired! So! Tired!"
Was she whining? It seemed so. Usually, she would always control herself to be a nice and polite person, always smiling and never acting spoiled. But right now, she absolutely did not care about that, not at all. It was rather cute. Until he noticed something.
"Wait, your hair is still wet."
He took the towel from her hands and after nudging her to sit up, started to dry her hair with the towel. It was too late, or rather too early, to use the hairdryer. His hands were strong, but he made sure to towel her gently. Soon her breathing became slow and deep: she had fallen asleep. After he finished drying her hair, he carefully laid her down in the futon, tucking her with the blanket and finally turning off the TV. He stood up, carefully to not wake her up, although it seemed impossible as she was already sound asleep, and went to the bathroom. He took a quick shower, without washing his hair. He could do that later during the day. Right now, he only wanted to rest.
When he returned to the main room, he found Shinobu in the same position he had left her. She hadn't moved at all. She wasn't even bothered by the light. She must be really tired, and he was too. Without more delay he turned off the light and went to sleep. Yet, before he could even hit the pillow, he felt small arms embracing him. Guess like she wasn't sleeping so soundly after all. But even with her arms around him, he still moved slightly to find a better position to sleep. She didn't seem to like all that movement, as she frowned, even though he couldn't see her in the dark.
"Sensei…" she mumbled a little annoyed.
He paused for a moment, before resuming what he was doing. He got on his side, facing Shinobu and bringing her closer to him, one arm under the pillow, the other hugging her by her waist.
"We are not at school anymore" he answered, not annoyed, but with the same tiredness.
She grumbled a little before letting out a soft "Giyū-san." Ah. He definitively preferred that.
"What?"
But she did not answer back. He waited a few moments, not knowing if she had fallen asleep for good or not.
"Shinobu?" she hummed in answer. "Weren't you tired?"
"Yes, I am… I'm very tired… But I'm still thinking it was fun…"
He let out a soft sigh, a little tired, a little annoyed, but also a little amused. He couldn't see her, but he was sure she was smiling. And if he could have seen her, he would have seen that her smile was a genuine one.
"Don't do that anymore. You had me worried the entire evening."
"I know, I know. I won't do that anymore" she said with a bit of a teasing tone. "But it was still fun…"
Well, if he thought about it, it had been fun, indeed. No point to argue about that.
"It was fun" he agreed.
She giggled softly against his chest, before letting another loud yawn. Now she was really tired, but she couldn't sleep just yet.
"Giyū-san."
"What?" he said already falling asleep.
"Good night."
"… Good night."
She felt his lips on her forehead while being lulled by the sound of his heartbeat and breathing. Soon enough, they fell asleep in each other's warm embrace.
Nomikai: when colleagues go out to drink after work. Kind of an institution, really.
I'm not really satisfied with the end but oh well QvQ
So, a few more comments about this AU:
-Giyuu and Shinobu went to a nomikai. Usually Giyuu doesn't attend to, but this time all the school staff was invited and he could not say no. There was a lot of people, so Shinobu smuggled herself in just fine! Nobody realized she was there, not even Kanae!
-So, obviously Giyuu was worried the entire time, and he was even more worried when Shinobu participated to the karaoke. Fortunately, most of his colleagues were already passed out.
-If they are in an established relationship, doesn't Shinobu have a change of clothes at Giyuu's apartment? Well, she did, but one day Kanae wondered why her clothes were disappearing from her closet, so she took them back home for the meantime. Now Giyuu is thinking on buying her new clothes.
And I think that's enough for now... I really should finish my homework QwQ And maybe writing for a new fandom is not a very good idea, I should finish that Vocaloid fanfiction that is getting dust in my computer QwQ
Help QwQ
