Chapter 1: Visiting.
The sun shined brightly on this partly cloudy day. The spring rains had come through the day before and cleaned up the air and sky. It also watered the flowers and trees.
On a two way windy road named Colby road, there were old massive Victorian homes dotted on either side. The neighbors had all grew up together in these neighborhoods and now are grandparents with their grandchildren.
But, there is one old massive Victorian home that sits atop of the hill, after you get through the small woods with a creek.
The house itself was built in the late 1800's. In the Victorian era, but the land itself has been within the family for centuries. The dark powder blue color that was painted last summer along with the off-shell white trim and the new black shingle rooftop the beginning of the summer season, all made it look regal.
"Will you quite washing the dishes! You already cleaned them and put them away!" an elderly woman's voice scolded her husband.
He wasn't as tall as he once was when he was teenage years. His skin was wrinkly, just like his wife's but, he wasn't a human.
The old mutated turtle chuckled and replied "I can't help that my little ones are going to finally hear our history,"
"They needed the years to grow and, Leonardo, their mothers demanded it. I don't blame them either; the tale was overwhelming even for me when I heard it," his wife told him, shaking her head.
"Ciana, I dreaded telling you of it the first time. I'm simply editing it for the little ones as you know that they are curious creatures," he winked at her.
Ciana rolled her eyes and muttered "Whatever I saw in you has"
"Set sailed a long time ago, I know dear. I know," Leonardo finished, smiling as he walked out of the kitchen.
It was only an hour later for him to wait when the four mini electric vans drove slowly into the driveway.
"3….2….1…," he counted down, after the front door opened.
"Uma!" he heard the young voices of his grandchildren.
Small talk was heard and then the hurried small feet could be heard to the door that leads to the spiral staircase down to the lounge and wine cellar.
"Are we allowed in here, Uma?" a Girl's shy voice asked her grandmother warily.
"Only, for this story telling. When all of you reach 30 years old, will you re-enter here again," their grandmother hitting some buttons.
The room itself was very massive, the temperature dropped to either 65 or 45 degrees. Shelves upon shelves of bottles of wine. The hard alcohol; whiskey, bourbon, vodka, brandy, and others were on the back of the spiral staircase.
"Is this where dad and our uncles come?" a little boy asked, looking all around the room.
"Yes it is, but only when they need to," their grandfather replied, smiling.
"Papa!" they all exclaimed when they saw him; rushing to get a hug and kiss.
"Oooh!" he chuckled; hugging them one by one.
"Why are we down here, when we're not even allowed?" the eldest grandson asked him.
"It is time for you to know our history. To understand why the history books got it all wrong on the country of Ruthen," Leo stated back.
"Ruthen, what?" the youngest granddaughter giggled.
"Venira is the continent's name," Leo chuckled back.
"But what happened, papa?" another boy asked him.
Leo had made alcohol free fruit smoothies for his grandchildren to drink before they arrived. He gave the deep glasses to them with bright colored umbrellas in them.
"It involves the city of Ruthen and how a Princess who wasn't wanted. Also, who was blamed for the death of her biological mother," he continued to tell them.
"But why blame a daughter for that? She had no control of coming into this world!" another girl huffed in annoyance.
"You're correct. But, this Princess is also in the shadows of her older identical brothers," Leo continued with the story.
His grandchildren; Oliver 12 years old, Chris 12 years old, Lucy 11 years old, Donna 12 years old, Roy 13 years old, Diane 12 years old, and Alina 11 years old, were all sipping their smoothies with rapt attention on his every word.
"Does anyone know the kingdom of Ruthen?" Roy asked, pushing his glasses back up his nose.
"Casan, duh," Donna replied back to her brother.
"All right, how about the castle?" their papa asked, sitting in the leather chair at the round table.
"The Castle? Why ask about a building?" Lucy asked, trying to figure it out.
"Because that is where our story starts. And its Carsley Castle, Lucy," Their grandfather said back as they all leaned in to listen.
Author's note:
Disclaimer: I do not own Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles nor do I make any money from this.
Hello!
So this idea is something that slowly came to me. I love history and TMNT is something that I also love. So mixing this together was a no brainer.
Now, not to be confused with the Leonardo in the past, the Grandfather Leo is named Leonardo 18th and is somewhat mixed of human and mutant turtle. The Leonardo in the past is the one that we all know and love from TMNT, where he's just a mutant turtle.
Please let me know what you guys think of this. I hope you guys like it because I'm having a complete ball with writing this and my "homework" research.
Please read and review, Thank you!
