Prequel to "Waiting in line at Capitol comics" about Stuart.

The door of the Costa Mesa Comic Centre opened and a customer entered the deserted Comic Book Store.

Stuart greeted his customer

"Hi Sam, how are you this week."

"Same as ever Stuart, has the new Batman Comic Book come in?"

"Yes, it's on the usual shelf on the back wall."

5 minutes later Sam came to the counter to pay for his purchases.

"Busy day Stuart?"

"Same as ever, that will be 10 dollars please for the Comic Books."

Sam got out his money and noticed what Stuart had been drawing.

"Hey, nice picture of Mr. Spock!"

"Thanks Sam, I have to do something whilst I wait for the customers."

"I have a favour to ask for you, my nephew loves Star Trek and it's his 10th birthday next week. Could you draw a picture of Spock for him as a birthday present?"

"Sure why not, do you have photo of him, I could draw him in the picture with Spock if you like."

"That's a great idea, here's a picture of him on my phone. I can email it to you."

"What's the kids name?"

"He is called Alfie."

"Email the photo to me, my email is Stuart at costamesacomics dot com, the email address is on your receipt. I should have something for you when you come in for Batman next week."

"Thanks Stuart, see you then."

One week later, Sam entered the deserted Comic Book Store.

"Hi Sam, I have the drawing for your nephew, want a look?"

"Hey Stuart, that's fantastic, you really got a good likeness of our little Alfie. How much for the picture?"

"You are one of my best customers, provided you buy something tonight the picture is for free. Batman is in the usual place on the back wall."

15 minutes later Sam finally came to the counter with 3 Batman Comic Books, 2 Star Trek t-shirts and a Mr. Spock tea mug.

"Thank you Sam, that will be 100 dollars please. Wish your nephew a happy birthday for me."

"I will do that Stuart. You know these pictures you draw are pretty good, you could try selling them in your store?"
