Just something that came to mind. I apologize for any errors. I own nothing except for the character of Lana. It's been awhile since I wrote a fanfic! Don't be afraid to leave a comment!
"Are you ready for Christmas my tiny angel?" Lana asked Scout with a bright smile
"Yes!" Scout said enthusiastically. "I want to see mommy." She said with a bright smile.
Lana's smile wavered as she stared down at the little girl, "Why don't you sit here," she said picking Scout up and placing her in a chair, "And draw a picture for your mommy." She said kissing Scout's head. "Then, we'll see if Santa can bring it to her. Is that okay?" she asked smiling down sweetly at her stepdaughter.
"Yes, I like that." Scout said sweetly and started coloring.
Lana stood up with a sigh, walked towards the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water. She was excited to have her second Christmas with Drew and Scout. This was finally a good year for them as she smiled and looked down at her growing bump. She placed her hand on her stomach and rubbed it soothingly as she thought about the children she was carrying. It took her and Drew a while to finally get to this point, but it was well worth it. Just as she was about to walk out of the kitchen the landline rang. Sighing, she walked to other side of the kitchen and picked up, "Hello?"
"Hey, Merry Christmas!" Elizabeth said on the other end
Lana smiled at her best friend and chuckled, "Same to you, how are you guys enjoying your Christmas?" she asked making her way into the living room watching Scout still color.
"It's great so far. The boys are really happy to have Franco back as himself and so am I. It's really turned into a Christmas miracle," she said with a chuckle as she looked at her husband and children. "What about you? How are you and Drew doing? How are my godchildren?" she asked
Lana rubbed her stomach and chuckled, "Drew and I are good. We're actually going to make our way to the local Santa so Scout can see him and give him her Christmas wish." She said with a sigh.
"Uh oh, what's that sigh about?" Elizabeth asked with a frown.
Lana twisted her mouth to the side and sighed, "She wants to see her mother…" she said in a whisper moving away from Scout slightly.
"Oh…I can see why that's something to sigh about. Have you talked to Drew about it yet?" she asked softly
"What can I say exactly? I can't stop Scout from wanting to see her mom. She's getting older, she's smart as heck and she knows I'm just her stepmother. I have no real say in whether or not she can see her mom. Besides, it's not like she can actually see her, she's in jail and I'm not taking my little girl to the jailhouse." She said grabbing a banana from the fruit bowl.
"Oh, well, I'm guessing you didn't hear, but Sam actually made parole." Elizabeth said with a sigh.
Lana stopped peeling her banana and frowned, "What?" she asked walking away from Scout and stepping over into the staircase and making her way towards the top of them where she could still keep an eye out on Scout but have more privacy, "How the hell did she make parole out of federal prison?" she asked shaking her head in disbelief.
"It's Port Charles, when it comes to the criminals in this town, they tend to get off scot-free. Let's not forget that Jason seems to always find a way to get things done when it's something he cares about. This doesn't surprise me at all." She said with a slightly bitter chuckle.
Lana let out a deep sigh and shook her head, "Just…great. So, she's out of prison and I can only assume Jason will try to move heaven and earth so that Sam gets her Christmas miracle of seeing her daughter." She said rubbing her forehead.
"Well, you have to keep in mind that Christmas is all about giving. After everything you and Drew have been through, you two have been given the best miracle of them all. Your marriage is stronger than ever, you're bringing two beautiful children into the world that Franco and I can't wait to spoil and you two are living far away from here in a wonderful town no matter how much it breaks my heart to have my best friends away from me." She said sarcastically.
Lana chuckled and shook her head, "You are acting like we live in another country, we only live two hours away from you guys." She said running a hand through her curly afro.
"Either way, it's two hours of torture for us. Think about spreading that Christmas joy. Love you," she said sweetly
"Love you big head, bye." Lana said with a bright smile and making her way back down the stairs. She smiled as she studied Scout who happily colored her picture. "Hey angel, you finished with your picture?" she asked rubbing her head and giving her a kiss.
"Yeah, it's all done for mommy." She said looking up at her with a bright smile.
Lana studied her and sighed, sitting down next to her, "You really miss mommy huh?" she asked softly, caressing the tiny girl's head.
Scout nodded her head, "Yeah…" she trailed off sadly.
Lana studied her and sighed, "Why don't we um, talk to daddy about seeing your mommy today? You wanna do a road trip?" she asked smiling at her.
"Yeah!" Scout said happily.
"Hey my girls! I'm home!" Drew said entering the house and smiling brightly. Lana smiled and watched as Scout got down from her chair and ran to Drew, throwing her little arms around his legs, "Daddy!" she said sweetly
"Oh my baby girl, there you are! I missed you, did you miss me?" he asked picking her up and kissing her cheek.
"Yes!" Scout said kissing his cheek back, "Daddy, guess what?"
"What?" he asked rubbing her back.
"Momma Lana says we can go see mommy!" she said with a bright smile.
Drew's smile was still on his face, but his eyes told Lana everything she needed to know; he thought it was a bad idea. "Hey, why don't you get a present from the tree and go upstairs for me while I talk to momma okay?" he asked sitting her down and kissing the top of her head.
"Yay!" she said bouncing up and down and running to the large tree. Drew and Lana watched as Scout made it up the stairs and made sure she was in her room. Lana sighed and turned to look at her husband, watching as he took off his peacoat and hung it on the coat rack. She knew they were going to have a serious conversation, but she couldn't help being turned on by him. The way he walked towards her made her want to rip his clothes off every time.
"Our daughter wants to see Sam. Were you going to talk to me about it?" he asked leaning over and kissing her softly on her full lips and sitting down next to her. She smiled softly as she watched him turn her chair to face him, as he pulled her seat closer to him, his large hands caressing her wide hips.
"I was going to tell you," she said wrapping her arms around him and caressed the nape of his neck, "I just found out from Elizabeth that she surprisingly got out of federal prison on parole. So that means she's home with Jason and Danny." She said with a shrug.
Drew sighed and shook his head, "Sam hasn't changed baby. Sam put her relationship before her kids, and I'm supposed to grant her that wish of seeing our daughter? Are we forgetting why she's in prison to begin with?" he asked with raised eyebrows.
"I know baby, but like I said, she's out now so I don't think it matters anymore. It's just Christmas. It's not like we're allowing Scout to spend the weekend with her. Full custody is just that baby." Lana said massaging his scalp to ease the tension in his head. "We've been through a lot, but we've also been blessed, let's spread that joy a little more." She said softly leaning forward and kissing his lips softly.
Drew smiled and sighed, "The things I do for you woman," he said kissing her once more, "Let's get going then." He said slapping her thigh softly.
Lana smiled and giggled as she stood up and grabbed a duffle bag, putting overnight clothes inside for her, Drew and Scout. She also packed up another bag for snacks while they stayed in the hotel. Once they were all set, they hit the road.

Jason walked towards Sam, wrapping his arms around her waist, kissing her head, "Are you okay?" he asked softly.
Sam sighed and caressed his arms, "I'm happy," she said in a shaky voice, "I was able to come home and be with my family…" she trailed off.
"But you miss Scout." Jason said softly
Sam nodded her head, as she reached up and wiped a tear away, "Yeah, I miss my little girl. And it sucks because I can't call Drew and ask him to let me see her. That's what the stupid custody case was for; he won, and now my daughter lives with another woman that Drew loves in another town, away from me." She said shaking her head and sighing. She turned around in Jason's arm and smiled sadly up at him, "But despite all of that, I'm happy to have you in my life again and we have Danny and that's the best Christmas I can have." She said smiling at him with teary eyes.
Jason continued to stare down at her and nodded his head slowly, "Do you want me to call Drew?" he asked running a finger down the curve of her face.
"Mmnh, no," Sam said shaking her head from side to side, "We're going to enjoy our healthy son and enjoy our Christmas as a family." She said pulling out of his embrace and walking over towards Danny, "Hey kiddo, what do you say we make some Christmas cookies, huh?" she asked kissing his head.
"That sounds great mom," Danny said getting up and making his way towards the kitchen with Sam.
Jason watched the two of them and sighed softly. He bit his bottom lip and grabbed his cellphone, hovering over Drew's name in the contact list. Just as he was about to press dial, Carly's name popped up on his screen. "Hey Carly, you okay?" he asked
"Of course, we are! I just wanted to wish you a merry Christmas! I know it's a little down for you with Sam being in prison and all but—"
"Sam's not in prison, Carly," he said
"Wait, what?! What do you mean she's not in prison? What happened? Did she get transferred?!" Carly asked frantically.
"No, no, she's on parole. She's here at home with me and Danny for Christmas." He said smiling.
"Oh my god! That's amazing, Jason! I'm so happy for you! I know how much you wanted her home and now you were able to bring her home and I'm sure Danny is just as happy to have his mom!" she rambled off.
Jason laughed and shook his head, "Yeah, everyone is really happy right now, well, for the most part." He said lowly.
"What do you mean?" Carly asked with a frown
Jason sighed and moved towards the front door, "Well, Sam's a little down that she won't be able to see Scout. I mean, this is her first Christmas without her, and she just wishes she were here." He said softly.
"Well, Drew and that Lana bitch are to blame for that! Sam should be home with you and Danny and Scout because whether you want to believe it or not you are her father too! And Lana will NEVER be Scout's mother no matter how hard she tries!" Carly rambled angrily.
"Carly, it's fine. What matters the most is that Sam is home and that's all I could ask for." He said softly
"Well, why don't you guys just come over here with me and Sonny and the kids! I'm sure that'll make your Christmas spirits better!" she said smiling brightly.
Jason smiled and chuckled, "I appreciate you looking out for us as usual but we're fine. We're going to finally have a real Christmas as a family." He said softly
"Well, we're here if you change your mind, and you will! But either way, Merry Christmas Jason, and I love you." She said softly
"Yeah, Merry Christmas, and I love you too Carly, I'll talk you later." He said sweetly, hanging up the phone.
Sam and Danny came out of the kitchen with bright smiles on their faces and looked at Jason, "Hey, you two got the cookies in the oven?" Jason asked wrapping an arm around Sam.
"Yes, Danny is so excited for them. Who were you talking to?" she asked softly
"Carly," he said with a sigh, "She wished us a merry Christmas and wanted us to stop by." He said
"Well, did you want to?" she asked with raised eyebrows.
"Nah, I'd rather spend a quiet evening with you guys. So, let's—" he paused as they heard a knock on the door. Jason and Sam frowned as they looked at one another and then back towards the door. "Think it's your mom and sisters?" he asked walking towards the door.
"I don't think so," Sam said wrapping her arms around Danny and holding him close to her.
Jason opened the door, the surprise on his face as he saw Drew, Lana and Scout standing before them, "H-Hey," he stuttered.
Lana looked between Jason and Drew and sighed, "We heard that Sam was out," she said looking over Jason's figure to a shellshocked Sam, "and Scout wanted to see her mom, so we decided to bring her over for Christmas." She said with a nod.
Sam's eyes filled with unshed tears as she stared at her daughter. Scout smiled brightly and ran towards her mother with her little arms opened wide, "Mommy!" she said happily and ran towards her. Sam quickly picked her up and held her close to her, "Oh my baby! I've missed you so much!" she said laughing as she spun a happy Scout around.
Jason smiled as he watched Sam and Scout reunite and turned to look at Lana and Drew, "Thank you," he said softly.
"Thank Lana," Drew said quickly, his gaze hard on his brother, "She's the one that was able to change my mind." He said lowly.
Jason looked at Lana and gave her a curt nod. Lana rolled her eyes and sighed, "Uh, we're gonna go and see Monica for about an hour, try not to leave the country with our daughter. We'll be back." She said turning and walking away from the door.
Jason watched as they left and closed the door. Sam smiled brightly at him as she listened to Scout talk to her and show her the coloring picture she made.
~.~.~.~.~
"Oh my goodness you guys are here!" Monica said with a bright smile as she walked towards Drew and Lana, hugging them.
"We decided to let Scout spend some time with Sam and Danny, so we figured we'd come and see you as well." Lana said with a smile.
"Well, I'm glad you two decided to drop by," Monica said with a smile as she looked down at Lana's round stomach. "How are the twins?" she asked placing a gentle hand on her stomach.
"They're doing really good. They're active and making me tired already," Lana said with a chuckle as Drew and Monica laughed with her.
"And you've been taking care of her?" Monica asked looking at Drew sternly.
"Just like you requested Dr. Quartermaine," he said playfully.
"Good," Monica said with a smile, "You know I'd feel more at ease if the two of you were still living in town." She said
"True, we do miss you guys, but we like our space." Drew said with a warm smile.
"Well, come on and eat, we've got some food leftovers!" she said grabbing both of their hands and dragging them towards the kitchen.
"Well, we're not staying for long!" Lana said with a quick glance at Drew.
"Yeah mom, we're just staying for a little while, besides we're staying in a hotel and we're leaving town tomorrow." Drew said as they stopped in front of the buffet.
He and Lana both frowned as they realized Monica had a traditional meal for once, "We've decided to splurge a little and have a real meal this time." Monica said with a smile.
"I thought you guys only did pizza on the holidays?" Lana asked with a chuckle as she quickly started making a plate.
Drew chuckled and kissed her head as he watched her pile food on her plate and take bites at the same time.
"Sometimes we do pizza on Christmas too but this time, we wanted something a little more traditional. So, you guys eat up and take some to go as well. I wanna make sure my grandchildren are healthy and happy in your belly." Monica said as Drew smiled and gave her a warm hug and kiss.
"We will mom, thank you." he said softly.
"You're welcome honey, Merry Christmas." she said softly
"Same to you." Lana said with a smile and mouth full of mashed potatoes.
~.~.~.~.~
"I can't believe Lana had to convince Drew to let me see Scout," Sam said quietly as she watched Danny and Scout laugh and eat cookies. "I never thought he'd reach the point of hating me that much where he'd keep her from me." She said in a shaky voice.
"Well, the good thing is that Scout is here, and you get to see her, that's the important thing." Jason said softly.
Sam sighed and nodded her head, "This is true," she said sniffling and wiping a tear away, "I have both of my kids here and they're healthy and happy. I get to really enjoy Christmas." She said with a chuckle as Jason held her close and kissed her head.
They walked towards the kids and sat down on the couch watching them, "So, Emily, did you like your presents?" Jason asked
Scout turned to him and frowned slightly, "My names not Emily silly!" she said chuckling.
Sam and Jason frowned and looked at one another, "What-What do you mean honey? Your name is Emily Scout Cain," Sam said with a nervous chuckle and shake of her head.
"No it's not," Scout said shaking her head from side to side, "My name is Nova Scout Cain" she said proudly with a bright smile.
Jason quickly looked at Sam as he watched the emotion on her face. It took everything in him not to lash out and attack, "No-Nova is a pretty name, Scout" he said reaching over and holding Sam's hand in his, giving it a squeeze.
"Thank you! I like it too!" Scout said giggling and smiling brightly.
Sam smiled through her tears and sniffled, "So, ho-how do you like living with your daddy and Lana?" she asked
"I love it! Momma Lana takes me horseback riding, I ride a pony and I was able to name it Star!" she said excitedly. "And we get to grow food on the farm, and I love my school, and I have a lot of friends!" she said happily.
Sam looked down slightly as she listened to her daughter talk about how happy she was, "That's great honey!" she said chuckling nervously.
"And momma Lana is having two babies! I'm going to be a big sister!" Scout said happily.
Sam's head snapped up as she stared at her daughter and quickly turned towards Jason. "Uh, Danny, why don't you take your sister upstairs and show her your toys?" Jason asked softly
"Yeah! Come on Scout," Danny said grabbing her hand and leading her up the stairs towards his bedroom.
Sam let out a sigh and shook her head as a few tears fell, "Oh my god," she said with a shake of her head, "I can't believe how much has changed with my daughter! It's like Drew has tried to erase everything that links me to her!" she said throwing her hands up in frustration.
Jason sighed and rubbed his forehead, "He's not trying to erase everything Sam, I think—I think he just wanted to have a fresh start for himself and Scout." He said softly
Sam sniffled and shook her head, "We named her after Emily together, we always swore we both would be in her life because she needed both of us and now it's like he's trying to erase me from her life! She calls Lana 'momma', and she's excited about being a big sister! She's riding ponies and growing food on a farm! She loves her school and she has friends! She has the life I couldn't give her!" she said standing up and wiping more tears away. Jason watched as she wrapped her arms around her waist and paced back and forth.
"I don't think he's trying to erase anything; I think he's trying to start fresh as himself. Everything you and he did in regard to Scout was when he thought he was me," he said standing up and walking towards her, "But that doesn't mean he's erasing you from her life entirely, he wouldn't have brought her over to see you on Christmas if he did." he said staring down at her.
Sam sniffled and nodded her head, "It just…it hurts." she whispered, wrapping her arms around his waist.
Jason held her and rubbed her back, "It's going to be okay." He whispered.
The sound of the knock on the door brought them out of their embrace. Jason opened the door and stared at Drew and Lana, "Scout ready? We gotta get back," Lana said with a sigh, walking into the penthouse.
Sam frowned and stared at them, "We still have five minutes left with her," she said with an attitude.
"You're not supposed to have any time with her," Drew said in a bored tone shaking his head at Sam, "Be happy you got your wish this holiday season." He said adjusting his watch on his wrist.
Sam and Jason frowned at him and shook their heads, "You don't have to be this way Drew," Jason said shaking his head at him, "We're all family, no matter how much you try to change it." He said
"Family?" Drew asked in disbelief. "Do you really want to have this discussion right now?" Drew asked with an arched eyebrow.
"I understand that you're upset," Sam said shaking her head at him, "But you do realize that she's still my daughter? It's bad enough that you're keeping her out of my life, but to try and change everything about her? That's cold, even for you Drew! You were never like this!" she said shaking her head at him.
"You out of the mob yet? You done being Sonny's bitch?" he asked staring his brother in the eyes. "Are you done riding on the back of motorcycles? Breaking into banks in foreign countries? Are either of you willing to put the mob behind you and actually be responsible parents?" he asked staring at Sam.
Lana watched as Jason and Sam remained silent, looking at each other, then turning back glaring at her and Drew. "Family showed me that I can't depend on anyone but myself and that happened long before I met you. I grew up in an orphanage," he said looking between the two of them, "Franco and Elizabeth are family, Lana is my world, my kids are my reason for living. You two stopped being my family the minute he came to town." Drew said looking at Jason fully. "You wanted nothing to do with me and it was because I had Sam and she wasn't leaving me at the drop of a dime. Even then, you still had your issues with me because I wasn't completely out of your orbit." He said to Jason who was glaring at him.
"Let's also not forget that you took it upon yourself to lie and cheat on me," he said now directing his attention to Sam. "Let me also remind you that once you and Jason got back together, you kept my daughter confined to Monica's when she wasn't with me because you wanted to relieve your past with him. You could care less about my daughter's safety. You just got out of federal prison for killing a man from your past! You wanna be upset about me keeping Scout from you? Fine. But keep in mind, you have no one to blame but yourself for all of this. Lana and I are keeping her safe, she's happy and that's what's important. Be happy about that since it's clear you haven't learned anything from your time away from her." He said firmly glaring at Sam.
Lana sighed and rubbed her stomach with one hand while rubbing Drew's arm with her other, "Get Scout so we can go." She asked
Jason and Sam looked at one another before Sam reluctantly ran up the stairs and brought her daughter down, "You be good okay? Mommy loves you so much." She said softly.
"I love you too mommy." Scout said sweetly.
"You ready baby girl?" Drew asked picking her up and kissing her cheeks.
"Yeah!" Scout said with a nod and smile.
Lana looked at Jason and Sam and sighed, "Merry Christmas." She said with a firm nod and left the home with her husband and daughter.
~.~.~.~
With Scout down for the count after a nice long bath, Lana and Drew sat on the couch drinking hot chocolate and eating cake as they watched the snow dance outside of their balcony. He turned towards her and smiled, kissing her forehead tenderly, "I love you so much," he said softly.
"I love you so much," Lana repeated, leaning forward and kissing him softly on the lips. They broke apart, gazing into each other's eyes, "Merry Christmas Andrew Cain." she said warmly.
"Merry Christmas Lana Cain." he said softly, as she rests her head on his shoulder. He had all he could ask for.
