Here are some Dr. Miranda Bailey and Ben Warren one-shots because I love them a lot. Each chapter will be named after the episode of Grey's Anatomy which the one-shot was inspired.
"Dr. Bailey." Ben's voice is stern as he looks over at Miranda then proceeds to leave Grey-Sloan Memorial.
Dr. Bailey looks up abruptly- just the person she was hoping to see. "Dr. Warren. Um- look, you're gonna hear about something because everyone around here hears about everything." She's speaking fast. "Eli and I have ended things-the nurse. You're gonna think that it has something to do with you. And for the sake of clarity, I would like to be extremely clear when I say it doesn't have anything to do with you, at all. Are we clear?
Ben smirks.
"It don't have anything to do with you."
Still smiling, he responds with an "Hhhm huh" before walking away from the woman.
"Ben Warren, I am being very clear with you. Are you listening to me?"
"Night Miranda Bailey, see you tomorrow."
"No, that is not what I said." She sighs softly. "Benjamin Warren."

Miranda should've been enjoying the night. Instead, she was seated on the couch, avoiding any and everyone who walked through the door. Still, she found herself lying to inquirers about Eli's whereabouts, telling them that the man wasn't attending the party because he was "stuck at the hospital."
Now it was Callie's turn to inquire and she knew she could be honest with her. "I mean what was I supposed to do Torres?"
"No, I totally understand." Callie sips from her wine glass.
"Good, so I did the right thing?"
"I didn't say you did the right thing, I just said I understand."
"Ah come on." Miranda stomps a bit.
"Aw. give me a break." Callie responds. "You broke up with your boyfriend because your ex boyfriend found out that you and your new boyfriend were screwing in the on-call rooms after you told the poor guy you were busy being held together by tape and glue." Callie chuckled. "I must say, that's pretty cold even for you Bailey."
"Oh shut up Torres." Bailey spoke softly.
"I'm just saying." Callie shrugged again.
"I'm gonna text him."
"Text who? Eli?"
"Nooo! Ben."
"And say what?
"I don't know. What do you think I should say?"
Callie chuckled. "Oh no. This is your problem. I'm going to enjoy the party." And with that, she started off.
"You're wrong, Torres!" Miranda called out to the girl. She took a glass of wine from a server who was passing by. "Thank you."
She sipped the drink as she made her way back to the love seat she'd been seated on earlier.
Text: Hey Ben. It's me, Miranda.
Miranda shakes her head and erases the message.
Text: I hope I made myself perfectly clear today-
She erases the message again.
"Dr. Bailey." Owen approach the couch. "How many times has it been mentioned-"
Miranda throws her hand up. "If you're gonna ask a work related question, I'm off duty." She grabs her coat.
"You're leaving already?" Arizona questions Miranda and Callie nudges Arizona softly.
"It's about Ben." Callie whispers to the woman as Bailey makes her exit.

As soon as Miranda turns the corner of her street, she notices a car parked outside of her home. Approaching, she can see that someone is leaned up against the car.
"Ben..." She says softly.
After parking, she makes her way out of the car and over to where Ben is standing.
"H-hey." She runs a hand over her hair. "I didn't expect to see you here."
"But you hoped to see me here."
Miranda starts to say something, but Ben is talking again. "You see, there are people other than myself at the hospital who are rooting for us too."
Miranda inhales deeply as she allows him the floor.
"So, a little birdie messaged me tonight. Told me you'd left the party early, and if I were lucky enough, I could make it to your home before you called Eli one last time- you know the nurse."
"Enough with the nurse thing, Ben." Miranda rolls her eyes. "And I told you, Eli and I ended things."
"In other words, you ended things." Ben crosses his arms over his chest. "I've come to learn that it's usually the way things go with Dr. Bailey. When you're not sure of something, you run."
"I run?"
"Exactly." Ben does not back down. "You run. You run when you're scared, you run when you're nervous, you run when you're bored. You...run. Hell, you ran away from me when I couldn't offer you the security that you needed."
"That's not true."
"It is true, and you know it." Ben retaliated. "Instead of allowing me to be there for you in your healing times after the shooting, you distanced yourself Miranda. Ran home to your mother, came back and told me-"
"I was being held together by tape and glue." Miranda finished. "I know what I told you. It was true at the time. But looking back, I can see why you would consider that a form of neglect."
Ben uncrosses his arms. "We work in the same hospital for goodness sake. And not once did you think to tell me that the wounds had healed. Instead, I find out from Shepherd that you've been doing more than taking naps in the-"
"Ben." Miranda touches both his arms.
"Y'know why it sounds wrong?" Ben moves away from her touch. "Because it is wrong."
Miranda furrows her eyebrows then. "But I never told you to wait for me, Ben."
Ben looks amused.
"While I was doing whatever I was doing with Eli, you too were a free agent. We obviously just chose different ways to spend our time in the on-cal rooms. Do I wish you hadn't found out the way you did, of course. But I'm not going to label what I did as right or wrong, and I'm not gonna stand here and be shamed by you either."
Ben frowned softly. "W-what? I'm not shaming you."
"Sounds like shaming to me?"
"Well, it's not. I'm just saying- Imagine being in love with a person. I mean, you've really grown to like everything about this person and then they break up with you. Break up with you for something you have no control over. Then months later, you find out from a friend that your person is with someone else. How does that make you feel?"
Miranda is silent.
"How do you think that made me feel?"
