Chapter 1

"It's me, Theodore "The Beaver" Cleaver. Except for a short time when I was married, I've always lived in Mayfield. Times sure have changed. My son, Oliver lives in Upstate New York with his wife and two daughters. My oldest son, Kipp also still lives in Mayfield, now divorced. Kip's son, my grandson, Kyle, is 26-years-old and also lives in Mayfield with his two children, my great-grandchildren, 10-year-old Kevin and 7-year-old Kylie. I'm still living in my childhood home, which I inherited when my mother passed away. This is the story of "The Cleavers".

Kevin and Kylie sat down at the table on Saturday morning eating pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Kyle sat down eating cereal.

"These pancakes are good," Kevin said.

"Aren't you going to have any, Daddy?" Kylie asked.

"I'll just stick to my cereal," Kyle replied.

"Can we go to the park?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah," Kylie said. "Can we?"

"Sure," Kyle said. "As soon as we get done eating breakfast, I'll take you."

"But when Great-Grandpa Beaver was our age, he was able to go to the park alone," Kevin said.

"Well, Grandpa grew up in the 50's and 60's," Kyle said. "Times were different back then. You should never go somewhere without a responsible adult."

Neddie walked into the kitchen.

"Good morning, Cleavers," Neddie said. "Do I smell pancakes?"

"What's up, Ned?" Kyle asked.

"We have a slight problem," Neddie replied.

"What is it?" Kyle asked.

"My father may have chained himself to the theater doors," Neddie replied.

"Oh great!" Kyle said in a mad tone. "We'd better get there before this spreads!"

"It's already going around Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook," Neddie said.

"What?" Kyle asked.

"I may or may not have posted about it," Neddie said.

"Neddie Haskell!" Kyle shouted.

"Sorry," Neddie said. "I couldn't help myself."

"Okay, kids," Kyle said getting up. "Neddie and I are going to the theater. You two are going next door to your Grandpa's house."

"Oh!" Kevin whined. "Not Grandpa Kipp!"

"Saturday is the day he goes through old photo albums!" Kylie whined.

"I'm sorry," Kyle said. "I promise we will go to the park later. Now off to Grandpa's."

"Fine!" Kevin and Kylie shouted.
