They were everywhere. And he couldn't get away. But he ran anyway. He ran, and by some miracle, he escaped. He knew that they didn't want to scare him, that they were just curious. But he didn't care. And so he ran.

Lin set out from his hut in the middle of the forest. The pokemon in the area didn't bother him. They knew not to. Lin hummed a tune as he headed to the nearest path that led to Pewter City. It was a nice day today. No disturbances whatsoever….
"Lin! Liiiiin! Hey, wait up! Liiiiin!" Never mind, there was ONE disturbance. Lin let out a sigh as he turned around. "What do you want, charizard?"
Oh yeah, he can also understand pokemon…. somewhat.
The charizard caught up. "Are you going to the human town again?" Lin sighed again. "...Yes." "Are you goin…"
"No, I am not going to register as a trainer, and no, I will not catch you as my pokemon, for like the hundredth time, no to both!"
Charizard looked at the now annoyed Lin with a small grin. "How did you know what I was gonna ask?" "You ask every time I go into Pewter."
"The human town?" Charizard asks. Lin facepalms. "Yes, the human town."
Lin starts walking again, charizard following close by. "How about if I beat ya in a spar?" Lin laughs. "The day you beat me in a fight is the day I turn into a pikachu."
"Hey, I got kinda close last time," Charizard defends. Lin just looks at him. "Okay, maybe not that close…" Lin's look continues.
"Okay, I got destroyed, but I lasted longer than before!" Charizard said, trying to find something positive.
"I guess," Lin replied. "If you want a trainer so badly, why don't you just go to someone who actually is a trainer and get caught? Most people would be thrilled to have a fully grown charizard on their team." "Because they aren't you," Charizard said. "Why don't you wanna be a trainer?"
Lin looked down at the leaves crunching under his feet as he walked. "It doesn't interest me. Simple as that. You coming along again?"
The two had reached the end of the path and were now standing a few feet away from the entrance to Pewter City. "Sure!" Lin, rather than answering, just walked into the city.
