"Die A Little Bit"

1: Good Times, Good Vibes

Perched comfortably at the bar, her legs dangling in the air, Juvia could only sigh, wondering how she allowed herself to be roped into to going out. And it wasn't even her kind of scene! Dark blue eyes scanned the room, taking in every detail she could. The lights were dimmed, but it wasn't pitch black or anything. It was crowded too, and the air reeked of weed, sex, and alcohol. Her nose scrunched up in distaste. People were either drunk off their ass, higher than a kite, fucking in secluded corners and rooms of the club, or a combination of the three.

Again, this certainly wasn't her idea of a good time. She'd much rather be back at her home, cooking something delicious in her kitchen before going to her room, curling up in her blankets, and watching romantic comedies while stuffing her face. Was that too much to ask?

According to her best friend, Cana, it was. The feisty brunet all but demanded that they go out, have a nice night on the town, and with those mocha colored eyes pleading with her, Juvia was weak and couldn't refuse her. Now, however, she was having some second thoughts. Her friend was lost in the sea of people on the dance floor, clutching a bottle of vodka in each hand, and Juvia, bemused, let her leave. She knew all she had to do was text or call her, and she'd be by her side in an instant, which was the only reason why she wasn't panicking or completely nervous.

She felt a tad overdressed for this particular setting though. Her hair was neatly curled, though they were starting to droop a bit due to how humid it was inside of the club. She wore a touch of makeup, nothing heavy, just some eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. Her dress was a rich blue color and strapless, showing off her shoulders and ample cleavage. The skirt flared out like the petals of a blooming flower in spring, stopping a few inches above her knees. Golden sandals adorned her feet, her nails painted a pretty gold color. Her jewelry gleamed under the club lights, and she felt very beautiful overall.

It seemed that other people shared her thought, though, as she kept getting approached by men and women alike. She politely turned them all down though. None of them really drew her in, and she was content to sit here sipping on her margarita people watching.

Phone in the palm of her hand, she was tempted to get ahold of Cana, thinking about leaving so she could maybe go to sleep or something other than this, when two people suddenly sat in the empty seats on each side of her. Startled, she nearly dropped both her phone and drink, heart beating frantically.

Warm, soft hands gripped her bare shoulders, steadying her, and when she looked up, she felt as if her heart lodged itself firmly in her throat. There was a gorgeous woman peering at her, her chocolate colored eyes filled with worry. Her hair looked as if it were made of gold, and her beauty left her speechless. Her red tube top barely kept her breasts from spilling over, and her leather mini skirt showed off her toned, tan thighs and legs.

"Are you okay?" Her voice sounded as heavenly as she looked, and Juvia could do nothing but nod her head, her voice still lost somewhere. The woman looked relived and was soon smiling at her, and her smile was as bright as the stars themselves, maybe even brighter than that. "I'm Lucy! And that's my boyfriend, Natsu!" Blinking rapidly, Juvia turned around, her cheeks tinged with a blush as she stared at this hunk of a man. He was just as attractive as his girlfriend, and Juvia lamented at how unfair it was, being caged between two attractive people.

His hair was pink, styled in messy spikes. Olive green eyes stared at her, mischief gleaming in their depths. His smirk was devilish and sharp, and lean, muscled build made her swoon. He wore red V-neck that showed of that sinfully chiseled chest of his, and his dark jeans were snug.

He took her pale hand in his, and she noticed the contrast immediately. He looked as if he was kissed by the sun itself, his skin a rich, golden brown color, while she was as pale as the moon. When his lips brushed against her hand, she felt her cheeks warm with a blush, said blush only darkening at the sound of Lucy's amused laugh.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," Natsu grinned, and hot damn, he sounded so smooth, so charming. She gulped down the rest of her drink, mentally begging her heart to stop racing, lest it beat right out of her chest.

"Juvia is happy to meet you both," she finally managed to say when she found her voice. Lucy smiled, tucking a golden lock behind her ear as she looked at her.

"Juvia, huh? A pretty name for an even prettier girl," Lucy said, winking at her, grinning at the flustered, adorable expression she made.

"What's a pretty girl like you sitting at a bar by yourself?" Natsu asked, shaking his head at his girlfriend's antics. He already had a feeling what direction this was headed, and he was content to watch how everything would play out.

"Juvia's best friend, Cana, thought it would do her some good to go out and have fun." And she, ironically, having a decent enough time. Especially since she met these two.

"Nothing says fun like sitting at a bar curving everyone who tries to hit on you, I'm sure." Juvia couldn't help the bark of laughter tumbling out her mouth, her smile wide and infectious. It made Lucy and Natsu smile, looking at her akin to wonder, although she didn't yet notice it.

"It is pretty fun, not gonna lie, but clubbing isn't really Juvia's thing. Juvia would much rather be somewhere less… hectic, is all." She shrugged her shoulders, glancing down at her phone to check the time. It was just now ten o' clock, and they got here around eight. She's been here for two hours, and now she was ready to leave. Cana did say if she stuck around for at least two hours, she was free to go, so she was dipping the fuck out.

"There's a diner not far from here that's open 24 hours. It's pretty chill, and it serves some of the best food you've ever tasted. Lucy and I were thinking of heading there, and you're more than welcome to tag along, if you want." Juvia looked between the two of them, silently weighing out her options. They seemed chill enough, and it beats sitting here like a lump on a log or being stuck at home by herself. Besides, if shit hits the fan, she knew all she had to do was let Cana or one of her other friends know.

When was the last time she let go and really enjoyed herself, or had not one, but two attractive people flirt and vie for her attention? She'd be crazy to let such an opportunity slip through her fingers.

So, smiling at them through the fringe of her curls, she answered, "Juvia would really like that."

The night air was cool against her bare skin, the skirt of dress fluttering in the breeze. Goosebumps rose on her skin, and wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to keep herself warm.

"Are you cold?" Lucy asked, stepping closer to her. At Juvia's nod, she wrapped her arm around her, holding her close against her. Natsu mirrored his partner's actions, wrapping a strong arm around her as well, and between the both of them, she was warmer than ever. Huddled between two ridiculously attractive people? Juvia could scarcely believe her good fortune. Things like this hardly ever happened to her. She knew she wasn't ugly by any stretch of the word, and she knew her worth, but her love life has had some hits and misses.

Her phone vibrating tugged her out of her thoughts, and she saw that Cana had responded to her text.

Ooh, looks like Juves got lucky! Have fun, honey 3

She knew exactly what Cana was implying, and she how heated her cheeks were, she was blushing so hard.

They were soon at their destination, Strauss Café. It was sturdy, nicely decorated building. Natsu, ever the gentleman, moved to hold the door open for her and Lucy. Lucy's hand found hers, leading her inside, and Juvia held hers back without giving it a second thought. She could only hope that her palm wasn't all sweaty and gross. She took in the scenery, noticing how quaint and cozy it felt, a welcomed contrast to the club they were just at. Juvia felt herself relaxing almost instantly, the lingering tension in her body melting away.

Following Lucy's lead, she found herself sitting between them once more in a little both tucked neatly away in a corner, away from prying eyes and nosy ears. Natsu handed her a menu, and giving him a quiet thanks, she looked it over, trying to see what she had an appetite for. She didn't really have a chance to eat anything substantial, so in a hurry was she to get ready for tonight. She was grateful she had the chance to eat now though, mouth watering a bit just thinking about how she'd get to stuff her face.

"How's your friend doing? Is she okay?" Lucy asked, breaking the amicable silence that had befallen them.

"She's doing fine! She was just teasing Juvia, as always."

"What was her name again?"

"Cana Alberona." Natsu and Lucy shared a look Juvia couldn't see nor decipher. Lucy was wide eyed, staring at Juvia before shifting her gaze to her boyfriend. It couldn't be the Cana Alberona they knew, could it? If so, what a small world they lived in. They could only wonder if Cana enlightened her best friend to the magical world they called home, if she knew beings like fairies, dragons, and witches truly existed, that magic wasn't simply make-believe.

At Lucy's questioning gaze, Natsu shrugged his shoulders. They'd cross that bridge when they got to it. Now was not the time to delve into all that, not to mention that convincing Juvia that such things were real would be a struggle and a headache within itself. It would be best to focus on the present moment at hand, and deal with things like that as they went.
