It was the summer between junior and senior year at Middleton and instead of being out enjoying the sun, Kim was sitting next to the hospital bed that contained not only her best friend but the man she was secretly harbouring feelings for.
It had been a regular summer day for Kim and Ron hanging out at Bueno Nacho doing what they would normally do when they heard the very distinctive sound of Kim's kimunicater going off in her pocket and as quick as lightning Kim picked it up and answered it.
"Hey Wade, what's the sitch" Kim said, looking directly at the short black boy on the screen. Wade load Kim's tech guy and the one who manages her website. "We got another hit on the site, at it again Kim and guess what he stole this time" Wade said trying to hide the sarcasm in his voice, and failing.
"Don't tell me he stole the pan dimensional vortex inducer again can't he find something else to steal for once" Ron said leaning over Kim's shoulder to get a better look at the kimunicaters screen.
"Well at least he's focused on something, when will our ride be here wade" Kim asked with a hint of focus and determination in her voice.
"About ten minuts out they'll meet you at Bueno Nacho so you guys can finish your lunch, Wade out" and with that the screen went blank.
The mission was a success so to speak, Kim and Ron broke into Dementors lair and managed to sneak up to him without him realising how close they were to him and managed to steal the PDVI but this is when the complications occurred, on the way out of Dementors lair they were surrounded by all of his chemically enhanced goons and without any hesitation is his voice screamed at his henchmen to attack Kim possible. About ten minutes into the fight Kim hears a blood curdling scream that could only have come from one person…RON and low and behold it was Ron, in the midst of the fight Ron had been picked up from behind and thrown into the nearest wall rendering the blond boy unconscious. In that exact moment Kim glanced over and screamed "RON!"After finishing of the henchman she was currently fighting she rushed over to Ron picking him up and running for the exit, on the way towards the exit Kim frantically called Wade and with panic evident in her voice screamed at the poor boy to get them an escape route and a ride pronto, with in seconds Wade had organised an escape route and a ride.
The ride back to Middleton was very tense for Kim as she had to comfort her best friend, who was still very much unconscious, as she was listening to what her mother, Dr Ann possible, who she had called to inform her of Ron's current condition and to be expecting the arrival of the two very shortly.
Upon arrival at Middleton hospital Ron was taken away from Kim and rushed into an emergency room for a check up. Upon entering the hospital herself Kim broke down in her mother's arms crying after a few minutes Kim finally spoke in a soft delicate voice that her mother barely heard "it's all my fault I shouldn't have made him come on those missions with me now he's in hospital because of me" Ann looked down at her daughter with a loving expression on her face when she finally spoke there was a hint of sadness and managed to say between tears of her own "Don't blame yourself Kimmie, Ron happily went on those missions fully well knowing the consequences and I don't think he'd have it any other way" this seemed to calm Kim down a little and after they parted from the hug they decided to sit in the waiting area until they got some news about Ron current condition.
Ann was starting to look very concerned because they hadn't heard anything from Ron doctors or his parents and Ann didn't want to leave her daughter in the emotional state she was in so they sat there and waited for some news on Ron. It was about another half an hour until they heard some news about Ron's condition and it wasn't as serious as they originally expected: a few broken bones and some serious cuts and bruises but other than that he was fine, despite the fact he was still unconscious. Kim and Ann upon hearing the news both ran to Ron's room.
Upon entering his room they saw all different types of medical equipment hooked up to Ron just to help him eat and breathe and they saw heart monitors as well monitoring his pulse. Kim and Ann gingerly walked up the Ron's bed side and each sat in a chair on either side of his bed. After what seemed like hours, but was merely minutes, Ann decided to go get a snack and drink for her and Kim, so she got up and left Kim alone with Ron, a few minutes after her mom had left the room Kim heard the door creek open looking up from Ron, Kim saw something she was not expecting to see today and all Kim could think was I thought this day couldn't get any worse…
