You were Right!

Michael arrived at his office he wondered if there had been any point of going home last night. He walked over to his desk which had a chocolate bar with a post it note on it. Puzzled he went to read the note, simply marked "you were right!". It was Jackie's handwriting, he went to the window and noticed her car wasn't there, did she come back last night to put this on his desk he wondered. He put the chocolate bar in his drawer and started up his computer.

The day had been hectic, one call after another and a management webinar, he hated those things. All day he wanted to talk to Jackie, find out what he was right about. He couldn't help but think she was avoiding him, she would normally at least pop her head in to say hi. Sometimes that was the only thing that got him through the day.

That evening, he went to the roof and there she was standing in his spot. "so… what was I right about!" he handed her the chocolate bar which he had opened. She smiled taking a bit of chocolate out. "aspects of my judgment..!" he shuddered he could be horrible to her sometimes, but she always forgave him. "what happened?" He knew she had been lying last night when she said she was meeting girlfriends.

"I went for a date with Robbie" she could see he wasn't shocked. He figured that Robbie had done something his face was full of guilt today, he thought to himself. He nodded as if to say continue "put it this way it didn't end well" She smiled.

"Did you go for dinner?" He moved to lean on the wall facing her.

"no we didn't even get that far, before his girlfriend rocked up!" she scoffed. Michael felt almost relieved they hadn't got any further, but quickly he realised she must be embarrassed, maybe even hurt.

"sorry" and he meant it. She held up the chocolate bar, "what did you do?" He smirked taking a piece of chocolate.

"nothing, just walked out said forget it!" she took another piece of chocolate and looked at him with that wicked look "I eh think the girlfriend clicked tho". She laughed. "I actually came back here, … hoping you would still be here, thought you would cheer me up, hence the bar!" He looked at her, wondering why she would even go for Robbie.

He took a deep breath, "Can I ask a personal question?" she nodded "Why did you … give him a chance, we all know he's not the commitment type?" He braced himself for the answer.

"well… he asked" she paused and you never have she thought to herself "oh I don't know Michael, sometimes a bit of charm can make you feel wanted, attractive even …. was nice for while" She shrugged avoiding his gaze "aspects of my judgement,… particularly when men are involved." She scoffed shaking her head. "you were right!"

"No I was an arse" he smirked. "I was embarrassed that Robbie knew how much Taggart meant to me. I should have known it wasn't intentional or at least let you explain"

"I am sorry!" She nodded, "your confidence is important to me!"

"I know, yours too, you could have told me about Robbie" He smirked.

"no.. you would have talked some sense in to me! and I guess I wanted to be swept away" she laughed at how girly that sounded. "besides I have told you now!" she teased. "and no it won't affect the team, I promise" she pre-empted.

They stood for a while in silence looking at the view, occasionally he would find himself staring at her. She is the only person he wants to share this view with, he thought to himself. What did she mean …he asked, he pondered.

"what…?" she asked fully aware that she was being watched.

"I was thinking.." he took a deep breath unsure how to proceed.

"that's dangerous!" she interrupted.

"cheeky" he grinned. "Can I take you to dinner?" Her eyebrow arched. "well you said that Robbie asked for a date" He smirked. "What If I asked?".

"I don't want a pity date, Michael!" she scorned.

"listen, I don't have his charm, but I happen to think you are the most beautiful women I've ever met both inside and out." She blushed. "and I would really like to have a proper date with you!" He could see that she didn't believe him. "I mean it" She shook her head.

"Why don't you believe me?" He smirked.

"aspects of my judgment…" they laughed.

That quick wit of hers got him every time the time. He realised that he would need to show her he was serious, so he leaned in and kissed her lips with a gentle soft kiss. Looking into her eyes her breathing quickened, he leaned in again for a second kiss this time his hand cupping her face as their kiss deepened. As there kiss ended she placed her forehead on his and her hand on his chest. For the first time in her life, she couldn't thing of a witty retort a teasing comment. A few moments had passed they had been looking at each other's faces. She grabbed his tie and wrapped it around her hand pulling him closer as if to kiss him again, before moving to kiss his check" She beamed with a wicked look on her face.

"tease!" he laughed.

"you need to buy me dinner first!" She strutted off. He laughed taking a deep breath, this is it, he though to himself. Quickly following after her.
