It was raining heavy outside and Violet and Bob were inside watching the rain inside.
"When's the rain gonna stop Dad?" Violet said looking at the rain.
"I don't know. It may rain for two days."
"Huh." Violet said and looked on the window then thunder came out. The thunder started cracking loud. One of Violet's fear was thunder. She got so scared that she ran to Bob and landed in her arms. Bob calmed her down by stroking her hair.
"It's okay. Daddy's here."
"It's so loud. It scares me." Violet said as the thunder got louder and she screamed and whined. Bob patted her back trying to calm her down.
"Try to get your mind off it."
"H-how?"
"Well it's an oldie but a goodie. Anytime you see lightning count as high as you can until you hear thunder."
"O-okay."
Then lightning came out and Bob said "One...Two...Three." Then thunder clapped and Violet hugged Bob tighter.
"That's th-three."
Then lightning came out and Violet said "O-one...t-two...three...four...f-five." Violet said and thunder happen again and she got spooked too much that she hid under a blanket.
"Calm down Blanket Violet. It's not gonna hurt you."
"Yeah but I hate thunder. It's not my style."
"Yeah but I don't want you to be sad."
"I know."
"Do you want to be in my arms again?"
"Can I have the blanket over me while you hold me?"
"Sure."
"Then okay." Then Bob got Violet with the blanket over her and he held her in his arms.
"It's okay. Everything's gonna be okay."
"How about a kiss on the forehead?" Violet said as Bob kissed her on the forehead.
"Do you love me?"
"Of course I do."
"Can you tell me that you love me?"
"Oh Violet. I love you with all my heart."
"Really?"
"Yes really."
Violet sighed and said "Can we watch TV?"
"Okay." Bob said and turned on the TV and they both watch TV
Three Hours Later
Violet had fallen asleep while watching TV and when she woke up Bob said "Hey there sleepyhead."
Violet yawned and said "Hey Dad."
"How was your nap?"
"Good. But what time is it?"
"It's 9:30 PM."
"Oh."
"You want to go to bed?"
"Yeah but you should too."
"Okay." Bob said as he turned off the TV and carried Violet to her room and helped her with her pajamas.
"Now you go to sleep okay?" Bob said and tucked her in.
Violet yawned and said "Okay Dad."
Bob kissed her on the cheek, covered her with the blanket and said "Goodnight Violet."
"Goodnight Dad."
"I love you."
"I love you...too...Dad." Violet said and fell asleep fast.
At 1:13 AM
Violet woke up to the sound of thunder really, really loud. She was panting really fast and the lightning made her scared and the thunder was too loud for her. She started crying where it left her no choice but to say "Dad! Dad! Help! Dad!"
Bob ran into her room and said "I'm here honey! I'm here." When he saw her she was crying, she was invisible, shaking, and she had the blanket over her."
"Violet?"
"Dad?" Violet said as Bob opens his arms for a hug. Violet accepted the hug as Bob calmed her down.
"Are you okay?"
Violet sniffled and said "No. I'm not okay. The rain is getting harder, the lightning scares me and the thunder is-." Then the thunder clapped very loud and she said "Getting loud for me." And she cried into Bob's shoulder.
"Oh sweetie. There's nothing to be afraid of. The thunder is not hurt you. Your inside and the rain's outside." Bob said and took her back to her bed.
"I know. It's so scary." Violet said and started whining.
Bob got teddy violet and he said "Remember her?"
"Teddy Violet!" Violet said and cuddled her. Then the thunder storm clapped and Violet started whining.
Bob kissed her on the cheek and said "You want a lullaby?"
Violet nodded.

Then Violet fell asleep with teddy violet and Bob tucked her in with her blanket and he said "Goodnight Violet. I love you so much."
Violet scratched her eyes and said "Goodnight Dad. I love you too."
Bob smiled and waved at her. She waved at him back and he left and she fell asleep. And with teddy violet with her and she slept through the thunderstorm.
