Summary: James and Donna try to figure out what happened to the real Lou. Franchises include The Grinch 2018
James was sleeping when heard his watch beep loudly.
He sloppily woke up and grabbed the watch. Apparently, it was Donna on the other line. James pushed the button and Donna appeared on the watch. "Hello?" James said.
"Hey James, can we talk over coffee tomorrow?" Donna said.
"Ah, talking over coffee, the author's biggest cliche in the past few stories." James said.
"What?" Donna asked.
"Sure. What time?"
"About 9:30." Donna said.
"Okay." James said. "Bye." He said before hanging up.
At 9:30, James showed up in an alleyway of whoville, turned into a who that looked like he was from there, and walked into the coffee shop.
He looked to see Donna with two cups of coffee in her hands.
James walked over to her and took a seat. "I didn't know what you liked, so I got a latte."
"Thanks." James said grabbing the coffee.
"Now, before I can talk about why you're here, I want to show you this." Donna said before sliding a photo to James. James took the photo and looked at it. It was a wedding photo between Donna, wearing a nice white dress, and someone else, wearing a normal everyday tuxedo.
James looked at the photo and placed two and two together, it was a photo of Donna and Lou at their wedding day.
James looked up at Donna. "What are you trying to tell me? Tell me your life story, or you want to talk about Lou?"
"The ladder." Donna said while taking a sip.
"Well, why?"
Donna placed her coffee down. "Well, what happened to him?"
"Simple, he died. We don't know how or when or I see your point."
"Exactly. Why weren't we told? Who did it? What was the things he was talking about during the time we thought he was alive before you came along?"
"So you want me, to be your detective." James said.
"Yeah." Donna said.
"Eh, I'm not sure. We could get into things we don't understand."
"It's a death James, how crazy can it get?"
"Judging by how you died, Very."
"Anyway, I recommend we head to the prison where he was at and talk to one of his old friends."
"I, guess. NOT!" James said.
"Alright. Let's g- what?" Donna said.
"Come on Donna, we can just look through the internet. And we can go off from there. Now, let's get started. Was there a title that he had when he was robbing places?"
"Pft, well if he had a robber name, I tell you for sure that it would be 'The Sinner.'"
"Okay, may I ask why?"
"Well, when we were younger, Lou wasn't the cleanest of windows. And his friends called him 'The Sinner.' Like it was some epic action hero name."
"Hmm. Interesting. Was there any criminal named 'The Sinner'?"
"Well, let's find out."
A while later, James and Donna were at James's house. James had a room in his house for pretty much anything, so they were in what James called the 'connect the dots of the case' room.
James threw a pin at a photo then it stuck to the wall. The two of them had placed photos and newspaper James had printed all around the room. From what they had so far, there was indeed a criminal called 'The Sinner.' And apparently, there was a blue light spotted by the prison one night. And they also discovered that Lou did indeed broke out of prison. But they couldn't get much from there.
"Alright, we have a few parts of the start. We just need the middle and end. Anything we can guess from there?" James said.
"Well, what about the events with me, Grinch, and Cindy? Did that even happen?"
"Hm. I have an idea." James said before walking to the newspaper with the blue light.
James pulled something out of a desk and placed it on the photo.
Then, a white flash took out their vision and suddenly they were back in Whoville.
Donna looks around her surroundings. "Where are we?"
"The exact point when the photo was taken, I have spoken. Anyway, come along." James said before floating in the air, going toward the light.
Donna looked off in shock. "How are you doing that without the suit?"
"It's an alternate form of reality. You can do anything. Think Inception, but not as confusing." James said. "To help you float, think that you are, but I recommend you jump when you do it."
Donna sighed and jump. And she was floating around like a newborn.
James grabbed Donna by her arms and straighten her up. "Alright, let's head into his prison room." James said.
James, his hand grasping Donna's arm, floated into the prison and explored the place.
After a bit of exploring, they found Lou's cell.
He was sleeping in his cell when the light was getting closer.
The blueness from it took over the room. That light made Lou wake up slowly.
"He can't see us. No don't worry." James said pulling Donna down to the floor.
Lou looked at the light in a frozen state for a minute. He got up. "What are you?" He said.
"The what?" He said.
James and Donna looked at each other. They couldn't hear what the light was saying.
"A sign of the future, yeah right." Lou said.
James walked closer, followed by Donna.
Lou touched the thing without hesitation, then, he froze in place.
James walked over and touched it to.
He froze in place as well. He saw flashes of random bits. Cindy getting the other Cindy pull out of her, Donna dying, Himself training Cindy, James and Lou fighting in the bathroom, Cindy flying in the air with Tiberius.
Once it ended, James fell to the floor the same time as Lou.
Donna went to James side. "Are you okay?!" Donna yelled.
"Yeah fine." James said. "I think we're going to need to fast forward." James said.
James pushed a button and they fast forwarded to Lou breaking out of the prison.
They turned to see him walking out the door.
James and Donna ran after him. They saw him fighting against some guards.
James walked closer to the madness.
Once he was finished, Lou ran away.
James and Donna continued to run.
Lou busted through the doors, james and donna went through them.
Lou grabbed a random bike off the street and he pedaled away.
"Fast forward." James said.
Now, they were at a random place in the woods. Lou had walked through a cave.
The two followed him into the cave. "Fast forward." James said.
As they got to where Lou stopped, they fast forwarded and they saw that Lou had decorated the cave, even with a door.
"Hm. Interesting." James said before fast forwarding again.
Now, they were following Lou at a night, breaking into Donna's house.
"Know about this." James said.
"This was the night Lou kidnapped Cindy." Donna said.
"Alright, now we know he was real during that." James said.
Then, Lou jumped out with Cindy and ran off.
"Continuing to fast forward. Any specific moments?" James said
"Only one I guess. Give me the device." Donna said.
James passed Donna the device.
Donna messed with it a bit and James was under a subway train which was floating in air.
James yelled and ran out of the way. Coincidentally, seeing Cindy and her friends run off. With Lou and the other Cindy behind them.
"I love the way you think." James said before running to them.
Lou and the other Cindy floated away.
James grabbed Donna again and they floated again.
After a smidge of fast forwarding, they saw Lou and the other Cindy in the cave.
"Man, I know she's a kid, but damn they really force the term Stranger Danger in their minds." Lou said.
"Yeah, I guess so." The other Cindy said.
"Ooo, I'm intrigued." James said becoming intrigued. (That was meant to be a joke)
"No need to worry, I'll figure out a way to get you two connected." Lou said polishing the space stone. "After all, it's all you want." Lou said before getting a sharp sword impaled through his heart.
The other Cindy turned Lou to her. "Actually, I changed my mind." The other Cindy said before smashing Lou's head into a rock, with a *CRUNCH* being heard.
James threw up at the sight.
Donna looked off in horror.
The other cindy walked over and grabbed the space stone, and she wiped off some blood and flew away.
James turned off the strange time travel macguffin. "Wait, if he died in the rock, then what was the gravestone about?"
1 minute later.
James kicked the gravestone of Lou and some snow fell off it. It was some other guy who died over a year ago.
"Oh, that makes sense." James said.
"Well in that case, we need to find that cave." Donna said.
"Point." James said.
At sunset, James and Donna have been exploring the woods.
They finally found the cave.
James shot down the door, and it blew away.
James turned on a lantern while Donna used her phone as light.
They walked through the cave in curiousity.
Once they reached the part of the cave Lou was killed, the place was dusty and had cobwebs everywhere.
James saw a blanket over what seemed to be a body.
James walked over to it and ripped it off. It was just a bunch of rocks.
"What?" James said before feeling an arm grabbed around his neck.
James wrapped his arms around the arm and his lantern shattered into pieces.
"James!" Donna said.
Donna looked at the figure and saw a decayed figure holding him.
Donna slid over to the remains of James's lanterns and smashed it into the figures face.
Thankfully, James had his suit form around him before any of the glass can get into his face.
The figure dropped James and they both dropped to the floor.
James looked at the figure before slamming his foot into it's face.
The figure grabbed his leg and threw him across the cave.
Donna grabbed a rock and threw it at the figure. The figure walked toward Donna.
James threw a knife at Donna and Donna catched it and stabbed it into the thing's eye.
James found a sword with dry blood on it and ran for it.
The figure looked behind him and grabbed the sword. The sword slashed a hole in it's skin, the figure got upset and smacked James across the face.
Donna got an idea of who the figure was. She didn't want to do her idea, but it might be the only one.
Donna ran up to the figure and kissed it.
James looked confused at Donna then got her thought.
Donna then kicked the thing in it's balls and James smacked the sword into the figure's head, slashing it off.
"Great, now we have more shit to explain in the future." James said.
After this, james and donna walked across the streets at night, when all the lights turned on.
"Damn, I assumed that Cindy being the chosen one was a chance of one in a trillion, but with Lou, that might make sense now." James said.
"Yeah, I guess so. But, how is this possible?" Donna said.
"Beats me. Maybe some urban legend in your town that most don't think is real." James said.
"Maybe, but it's nothing I can remember." Donna said.
"Well, one day, we'll see about it in the future." James said as they approached Donna's house.
"Fine with me." Donna said.
"Alright then. Have a good night." James said.
"Same goes to you Michael." Donna said.
James smirked and summoned a portal and jumped in.
That's all there is for tonight. Really wanted to do this story, and i'll do it. Now, if anyone wants to give me ideas, you can do it, since it's kind of hard for me to come up with ideas, maybe burn out.
PM me if you have an idea and review the story.
Have a great night.
