Here We Come

I sat on the couch looking down at the positive pregnancy test in my hand, my heart pounding. How did this happen? Sure, Jughead and I had sex, but we used protection. We were careful. This is the worst time, Polly is living with the Blossoms. Jason's murder investigation is nearing the end, and getting more and more dangerous every day. Dad isn't even living at home anymore. This will crush my parents. I looked at my phone, thinking who can I call? I can't call Jughead, he'll freak, or V, we're kind of in a fight. I can call Archie, we've been friends forever, he wouldn't judge me, right?

I sat on the couch thinking for what felt like hours. I came to the conclusion, I would call Archie, and Kevin and tell them, they were the only ones I trusted at the moment. Archie answered on the first ring and said, "Hey, Betty what's going on?"

I replied in a wrecked voice, "Um, nothing much. Can you come over? I'm having a really, really, bad day."

He sounded so worried as he said, "Yeah, I can be over in 10. Are you okay?"

I smiled at his caring tone, and said, "I'll talk to you when you get here."

Then I hung up and called Kevin, he answered on the third ring, and said, "Hi Betts! What's up?"

I started crying and said, "Can you come over Kev?"

He sounded very, very worried as he said, "Sure Betty, are you okay?"

I started crying harder and said, "I'll tell you when you get here, you don't need to worry about my bitch mother, she's not home for 3 days, off doing god knows what."

He quickly said, "I'm on my way over, see you in 5, okay?"

Then we hung up, and I sat there thinking about my future. I mean Jug and I were happy, and I was smart, I could get a job, right? We could live in Juggie's trailer, I don't know. Suddenly my hopeful thoughts were interrupted by a loud knock at the front door. I opened it to see Kevin standing there looking worried, I hugged him while sobbing into his chest. I saw Archie walking from his house to mine, when he saw me hugging Kevin while crying he ran over and hugged me from the other side. We stood there hugging while I cried for about 15 minutes, then Archie said, "Let's go inside and talk, huh?"

I nodded and Kevin picked me up and carried me to the living room couch, Archie closed the door behind us and joined Kevin and me on the couch. Kevin rubbed my shoulder and said, "What's going on Betty? You can tell us anything, you know?"

I nodded, and Archie said, "Seriously Betty, you can tell us anything."

I started crying again and as Archie handed me a tissue I said, "I'm pregnant."

Kevin and Archie gaped at me in shock, I started sobbing harder and said, "What am I gonna do? My parents are gonna kill me, and Jughead will probably leave me. I'm such a slut."

Archie's mouth closed and he said, "Betty, come on, you're not a slut, you can do this. If anyone can do it, it's you."

Kevin nodded and said, "Yeah, and you're not alone, you have us, and the thought of Jughead leaving you is absolutely ridiculous, I mean have you seen the way he looks at you? He calls you Juliet for god's sakes!"

I stopped crying and said, "Yeah, Kev, but Juliet never got pregnant!"

Archie chuckled while wrapping his arms around me and said, "Come on Betts, Jug would never leave you. Especially not when you're pregnant."

I chuckled nervously, my hands still shaking, and said, "I know, but what about my parents, they're gonna stab me, and Juggie would be lucky if that's all that comes to him, I mean after Polly, what will they do?"

Kevin and Archie shared a look, and Archie hesitantly said, "We won't, ever, let anyone hurt you, or your baby. That's a promise, I never go back on a promise."

Kevin nodded and said, "Neither do I, we won't let anyone hurt you, Jug, or your baby. We'll make sure you guys stay healthy, happy, and together."

I smiled and so did Archie, tears were still streaming down my face, but I was smiling. Archie frowned and said, "Are you sure you're pregnant, from what I can tell, you have no symptoms."

I flushed red and said, "I took a test, It was positive."

Kevin thought for a moment and said, "It could be a false positive, those happen all the time, right?"

Archie looked hopeful and said, "Yeah, right?"

I blushed even harder and said, "It wasn't, trust me. I was supposed to get my period 3 weeks ago, it's never late, I've been puking, and telling my mom it's my ADHD meds."

I leaned my head on Kevin's shoulder and Archie rubbed my knee. We sat there for about 20 minutes before Archie said, "When will you tell Jughead?"

I frowned and said, "Will you help me when the time comes?"

They both nodded and Kevin said, "You know you should tell him sooner rather than later."

Archie nodded and said, "He'll wanna know, trust me."

I nodded and said, "What about today?"

They both looked very surprised, and Kevin said, "Well, that's definitely sooner."

Archie smiled and said, "We'll be there the whole time."

I hesitantly looked at my phone and they both smiled at me encouragingly, then Kevin said, "It won't bite."

I chuckled and picked up my phone, I frowned and said, "I can't do it. Can you call him?"

Then I handed it to Archie, he smiled at my contact name for Jughead and said, "Romeo, with 3 hearts?"

I rolled my eyes and said, "Whatever, just call him."

Kevin chuckled, and Archie smiled, then he pressed call, in true Jughead fashion he answered on the first ring. In an enthusiastic voice, he said, "Hey babe, what's going on?"

I smiled and Archie said, "Hey, Kev and I are here."

Jughead said, "Oh, hey."

I chuckled and said, "Can you come over?"

Jughead said, "Yeah, but is your mom there, I don't really want to run into her."

I smiled and said, "No."

I heard him sigh in relief as he said, "I will be there in 10 minutes."

He hung up and Archie put my phone down. Kevin and Archie hugged me, and I sniffled into Kevin's shoulder. I rubbed my churning belly and ran to the bathroom to throw up. Kevin rubbed my back and Archie held my ponytail out of my face. I puked 3 times, and then wiped my face with the cloth Kevin handed me. We all turned our heads at Jughead's knock, Archie said, "Kev, stay with Betty, I'll get the door."

Kevin nodded, and Archie went to get the door. I heard Archie greet Jughead by saying, "Hey, Dude, Betty's sick, she's in the bathroom puking."

I heard Archie and Juggie walking into the bathroom, Jug sat next to me and I leaned against him. I sighed and said, "I'm done."

Jug picked me up and carried me up to the couch, Kevin flushed the toilet, and Archie threw the dirty cloth in the wash. Once I was on the couch, Juggie was sitting on my left side hugging me, Archie was sitting on my right rubbing my shoulder, and Kevin was sitting on a chair across from the couch looking at me encouragingly. I sighed and said, "Jug, I have something to tell you."

He looked at me with worry written all over his face, and said, "What is it? You can tell me anything."

Archie smiled and said, "He won't be mad Betty."

Kevin nodded in agreement, and I said, "I'm pregnant."
