Hello! I wanted to write a fanfic about this great couple a long time ago, and now it's here!

I would like to say that not everything is exactly the same with the book, actually many things isn't really the same, so please don't get confused when something is different.

And,English is not my mother tongue, so I would be happy to know about my mistakes and correct them :)

Edit: I have changed the plot and merged another story of mine to this, since I found it hard to progress the story on a single storyline.

Disclaimer:A Song of Ice and Fire belongs to George R.R. Martin.

It was a cold day of summer, as always. It had been 12 years so Catelyn knew The North, and she knew winter was coming.

Just as she left Measter Luwin's office to give Ned the big news, she noticed the look of the folk as she was approaching to The Great Keep.

They still underestimated her.

After being the Lady of Winterfell for more than a decade,Catelyn got all the respect from The North, but Winterfell.

Because the Starks had the blood of the first men,the folk thought that the noble blood wasn't deserved for a lady from The South.

But she never complained to Ned, about how his people treated her. She didn't want to gain their respect because they feared her husband, but they acknowledged her as one of them.

Before she got to their chamber, Catelyn visited the kids. Robb and Jon, the bastard, were training with Ser Rodrik.

When he saw her mother he wanted to stop them but she refused. But nevertheless, Robb noticed that Ser Rodrik wasn't paying attention so he turned his head to see what he was looking at and saw her.

"Mother!"

He yelled. Catelyn smiled and as he was appoaching to her, she realized Jon coming with him. She smiled as Robb hugged her tight, and Jon stood there smiling as well.

"How is training going, my Lord?"

He blushed as they separated.

"I'm not really comfortable with that title, I'm afraid."

She smiled as she was passing my fingers through his auburn hair, just like hers.

"You'll get used to it, and be a great Lord. Just like your father."

"That would honor me, mother."

Robb left to the side as Jon bowed in front of Catelyn.

"Lady Catelyn."

"You do like fighting, don't you? And I must admit, you are pretty good at it."

His smile widened, and so did Catelyn's. After all the things that happened to her, she just couldn't bear Jon being a motherless child. So she took care of him as he was her own, and loved him as her own. But when they where outside, they had to be more formal. But that didn't mean that she was hurt when he first arrived, though. Deep inside, she was still mad at Ned.

"Go now, you shouldn't wait Ser Rodrik."

They nodded and went back to training, and she continued to take a look at her other children.

As she was making her way to see Arya and Sansa, she saw Bran climbing again, still on top of some castle after she had forbade him.

"Bran!"

She yelled, to make him hear her. He quickly went down and approached to her.

"I'm sorry mother."

"You were sorry too the last time."

As he bowed his head down, Catelyn sat on her knees to face him.

"I'm worried about you, Bran. I don't want you to stop doing what you like the most; but can't you find somewhere more safe to do it?"

Not only for Bran, she was worried for all of her children. And Eddard. She was worried because The Starks didn't have a good time at South. They are of The North and like the snows of winter, when they come South, they melt away.

As for herself, she was worried. To see the Lannisters.

"Mother?"

She realized with Bran's voice that she was lost in my thoughts.

"You okay?"

She nodded and stood up.

"I should take a look at the girls too. Be safe, Bran."

He smiled and nodded.

"My Lady!"

A voice called and Catelyn turned around to see who it was.

"What's the matter, Septa Mordane? You look pale."

She was worried that something had happened to the girls.

"I can't find Arya anywhere, My Lady..."

Catelyb sighed in relief, since the lost of Arya was a common thing.

"Don't panic, Septa Mordane. I'll find and bring her to you."

She nodded and smiled.

"By the way...Congratulations on your fifth,My Lady."

Catelyn laughed.

"How does the information spread so fast here?"

"I was actually predicted it, and when you left Maester Luwin's office with a grin, I knew it right away."

She patted her shoulder.

"Thank you.I'll get Arya as soon as possible."

Catelyn left to find Arya, and she wasn't looking for long when she bumped into her while escaping from Theon.

"Here you are.."

Catelyn said, with a friendly, but also tough voice.

"Mother please, I don't want to learn sewing, I want to train with Robb and Jon!"

She took her hand hand held it tightly.

"My sweet girl... Like I told you before, your Lord father and I are trying to find a good swordsman to teach you, and even if we find one, you'll still attend Septa Mordane's lessons..."

"But I don't want to be a lady! I want to be a knight! Why do I have to learn something that I don't need to know?!"

"You never know where life will take you, Arya. So we're trying to make you ready for all."

Cat said in a soothing voice. She smiled and nodded.

"Now let's take you to Septa Mordane, pray she doesn't punish you much!"

As she approached to their bedchamber, she realized the door was open and Ned was talking to someone. She knew it wasn't right, but she couldn't keep herself from eavesdropping.

"My Lord... He needs to know, so does your Lady wife."

He was pacing anxiously while he was talking.

"But how? It's too late."

"It's never late, My Lord."

"What do you think will happen when my nephew and wife learns the truth? Catelyn, she's going to be hardbroken more than the time I brought him as my bastard."

The man remained silent. So she wiped her eyes before they fill with tears, and went inside.

"I believe you owe me an explanation, My Lord."

Ned was stunned to see her. Howland Reed, the man Ned was talking to bowed and left them alone.

"Jon."

He paused before he continued.

"He's not my bastard. He's the son of Lyanna and Rhaegar."

"Wasn't Rhaegar Targaryen married to Elia Martell? That still makes him a bastard."

"Lyanna actually loved Rhaegar. And Rhaegar loved Lyanna. They were married secretly."

This time, Catelyn was the one to be stunned.

"I-I don't understand...So he's trueborn Targaryen, and the rightful heir..."

She closed my mouth with her hands while tears were forming in her eyes.

"You kept this secret from me...All this time?"

He immediately came next to her while she sat on the bed, crying in shock.

"Cat,I-"

"Didn't trust me Ned?"

He didn't answer.

"You don't trust me..."

"Catelyn..."

"Don't."

Cat replied in a sharp tone.

"I don't want to say things that I'll regret later."

She wiped my tears once again and straightened up.

"Do we really have to attend the royal wedding, My Lord?"

"It would be disrespectful if we don't."

"I fear my lord. I fear."

"You fear what?"

Ned asked with curiosity. At that moment, she wanted to reveal everything. But, she just couldn't. Instead, she touched her slightly swollen belly before she talked.

"I am with child, My Lord."

A big smile appeared on his face. He put his hand on top of hers. Catelyn wanted to pull it away from him, but then she decided not to ruin the moment.

"That's such great news, Cat."

He leaned over to kiss her, but she put her head on his shoulder and he put his cheek on the side of her forehead.

That was too much.

"I don't want to travel by carriage, but also... "

"It's dangerous. It will be your fifth."

"There is some risk, not something that I can't handle, though."

He nodded.

"It will be alright. When the royal wedding's over, we will come back."

She remained silent for a while.

"You know what, Lord Eddard Stark?"

Catelyn pulled myself from him and stood up.

"I wish I didn't know. The fact that you didn't trust me after all these years of marriage and the feelings we shared, gave me more pain than a thousand bastards you could have brought here."

She left the chamber as tears started falling down her cheeks.

He sat there, heartbroken.

And when she realized that her legs don't hold anymore, she fell down to her knees and cried hysterically, then...

Nothing.
