Hi! This is my first English fanfic. I'm not an English native speaker, so feel free to destroy me. I will appreciate any critic, I just want to improve my writing. So, I hope you enjoy it.

Once again, the sun was shining in the restored and pacific kingdom of Hoshido. Despite the war in which the kingdom had been involved not so long ago with its neighbor, things were just fine for everyone in the nation. Well, not for everyone…

Felicia, the clumsy Nohrian maiden, was contemplating a beautiful pond in one of the numerous gardens of the castle. The Koi fishes shone with the light of the sun, a complete spectacle. But nothing could cheer the poor woman, who was devastated.

The sadness in her heart made her kneel. Now her face was close to the water, so she could see her reflection on the water. Her face showed misery, it has been like that since she arrived to that place.

Felicia had participated in the cruel war between Hoshido and Nohr, it was in that time where she lost the most important person in her live: her twin sister.

Flash back

"Good news, Flora."

"What it is, sister?"

"I heard that Corrin is about to arrive to Nohr's border. If we hurry now, we can join her."

"What? Betray Nohr? That's madness."

"Madness? Flora you don't support this cause. King Garon doesn't even know why is he attacking Hoshido. The best thing that we can do is to help Corrin, after all, we swore loyalty to her."

"Felicia, don't you even know what they will do to our tribe if they know that the chief's daughters betrayed Nohr?"

"They don't have time for that now, half of Nohr's army is in Hoshido and the other half is protecting Nohr from Corrin's army. We have to go now! Nobody will notice our absence."

"I'm sorry, Felicia. But I'm not going because I care for my people."

"I care too! And I know that they will be fine and they will be better when this war is done."

"Well, do what you wish."

"So, you are not coming."

"No."

Flora's rejection hurt Felicia, but she had already made her mind. She won't make her sister join her, nor she would give up on her wish just because her sister is not supporting her.

"Good bye, sister."

"Good bye, Felicia"

Flash back end

That wasn't the last talk with her, but it was the last time that she could speak well with her. Felicia regretted not saying her sister how much she loved her. She was surprised when she saw Flora again in Macarath, where she looked different. Felicia blamed herself for not noticing that something was wrong with her sister. It was so obvious, she offered to take them to the Ice Tribe, the place that she wanted so badly to protect! And then, she said that Nohr wasn't controlling the Ice Tribe, they being simple maids proves the contrary!

Flora betrayed them. She ordered the Ice Tribe to attack Corrin's army. Felicia had to fight her sister and her own people. At the end, Corrin's army won without any casualties. Except for Flora's live, who at the end killed herself because she couldn't bear the sorrow that came with her treason. Felicia tried to stop her, Corrin and Jakob did the same, but they failed. Felicia watched how her sister became ashes. She heard Corrin swear vengeance to king Garon, and she swore it too.

A tear sunk in the pond, then other, and then other. There wasn't a day where Felicia didn't cry for her dead sister. "I'm so sorry, Flora" she said while she covered her face with her hands.

She knew that her sister wouldn't like to see her like that. But now she was living on a foreign land, where she didn't fit at all. She felt alone and useless. Felicia wished so badly to go back to the Ice Tribe, so she can see her father again. But, Felicia, Corrin, Silas, and Jakob were traitors. If someone of them dare to put a foot on Nohrian territory, they will be killed immediately. Even the Ice Tribe hated Felicia, her father didn't have other option but banish her. In the Ice Tribe, Felicia was blamed for Flora's death. Felicia was really hated, that every letter that she wrote for her father never arrived to its destination.

In conclusion, Felicia felt completely isolated and it make it worse that she was the only one in that situation. Jakob and Silas easily adapted to the new place. Jakob now serves all the royal family. He even is in a relationship with the archer Setsuna. Nobody expected them to end up together, but they fell for each other. And Silas, he joined Hoshido's army and he trains so hard in order to learn Hoshidian fight technics. He and Corrin were engaged. The sun seemed to shine for everyone, except her.

Get a husband and have children was something that Felicia whished since she was a child, but her life situation made her forget about it. She wasn't interested anymore; she wasn't interested in anything at all. She was just a clumsy Nohrian maid, who would ever lay eyes on her?

"Impressing" Felicia heard a voice behind her. That alarmed her, because it was the king of Hoshido.

As fast as she could, Felicia stood up and turned to bow him.

"Your majesty." She greeted him.

She felt ashamed for being seen like that. Felicia was cleaning her tears when she realized something: there was snow everywhere. Even the shore of the pond started to freeze.

"I'm so sorry, your highness. I have ruined your garden." Felicia apologized. She forgot that when she reflexed about her miserably life, she always ended causing a blizzard. It usually happened inside the castle; it was easier to clean in that way.

"Don't worry about it, Felicia. I like the snow. It reminds me some places of Hoshido."

"I didn't now that it could snow here."

"Well, here in the capital not. But in the North, it is a beautiful place. I can say that it resembles the Ice Tribe, but the cold it is not the same."

"There's no place as cold as the Ice Tribe" said Felicia with a smile, remembering her hometown.

"It feels less cold when you visit it a second time."

Now Felicia was surprised. "A second time?"

"Yes, last week I went to Nohr. I had a meeting with king Leo. Before returning, I made a stop in the Ice Tribe. I had something important there that I wanted to get back."

"And what that could it be?"

"This." Ryoma showed a book, that Felicia recognized immediately.

"Father's book of tales!" So many happy memories flooded Felicia's mind.

"It's mine, actually."

"I don't understand, milord."

"Did you know that long time ago the chiefs of each elemental tribe used to gather in here? The Wind Tribe, the Fire Tribe, and the Ice Tribe. Every three years, they would reunite, so they could talk about the elemental spirits and their omens."

"I didn't know that. It should have been awesome."

"It really was, the last one took place before the war. I was five years old, and that day I was reading this book with my father. Suddenly, the chiefs arrived, so I had to leave my book in that room where the meeting was about to take place. Once finished, I went back to continue reading. When I entered the room, I saw your father reading my book. He noticed that it was mine and he apologized for taking it. He was so fascinated by the legends of the book. He mentioned that they were similar to his tribe legends, specially the one of the Hero's sword. And he also mentioned how his daughters will love to read this book, so I lend him the book."

"I had not spent so much time with my father. I have been serving the royal family since I was a child. So, I just visited the Ice Tribe like three times per year. But when I was there, each night our father read us this book. I have never imagined that it belonged to you. But it makes sense, this book has always been different to the others. I'm glad that you finally recovered it."

"Yes, now I can make what I want with it. Like, give to you." Ryoma handed the book to Felicia.

"For me? I couldn't."

"Take it, please. It was the only reason why I went for it."

Felicia's face turned red with that confession. Then, with a shaking hand, she took the book. Felicia embraced the book, after all it was so precious to her. When Ryoma saw her state, he knew that his hopes weren't as unlikely as he thought. That made him happy. Neither the king or the maid noticed that a slight blizzard was blowing in the garden.

"How is my father?" Felicia asked.

"He is fine. But it's evident that he misses his daughters."

"I think that Flora is with him, in the town that she loves."

"Well, I think that she is here, with the person who needs her the most. I didn't get to know her, but it could see that you were alike."

"We are not alike. Not physically, neither in aptitudes. She was good at everything, unlike me…"

"That isn't true. I think you are good at fighting. You help us in our cause, and I will always be grateful with you for that. You are kind, brave, and loyal as your sister. What happened to her was truly a tragedy. I'm so sorry for your loss, Felicia. I can see that you are broken because of that, but you have to keep going for her."

Felicia was speechless. Since her sister's death, nobody bothered on telling her such words. Coming that from the king himself was more than cheerful.

"I will, majesty. Thank you for everything." Said Felicia, the misery started to banish from her face.

"Excuse me, majesty." Spoke a green ninja who suddenly appeared.

"What do you need, Kaze?" Asked the king.

"Princess Corrin is looking for Felicia." Answered the ninja.

The king dismissed Felicia and Kaze. During the path, Felicia told everything to Kaze, they got along so well. Of course, the ninja has many duties that keeps him busy, so he doesn't have time for friendship. Corrin called for Felicia just to know how was she. Because that morning, Felicia destroyed another tea pod in front of Corrin and Jakob. Of course, Jakob didn't hesitate on telling Felicia how clumsy and useless she was. So, Felicia left without saying any word, that left Corrin worried. Corrin was surprised when she saw Felicia in high spirits, and she got more surprised when Felicia wanted to quit her job. Felicia now has a new plan, and that is to join Hoshido's army, after all Silas suggested her to do so more than once. Corrin couldn't be happier for her friend, that she finally found her place in that kingdom.

On the other hand, the king got back to the castle where his two retainers and his best diviner were waiting for him.

"How went everything, milord?" Asked the female ninja.

"I think well, she was happy" Answered Ryoma.

"She will be happier when she finds the letter of her father." Spoke the diviner.

"If you say so, it must be true. If you excuse me, I have something to do." Said Ryoma before leaving.

When Ryoma was gone, the male ninja started to speak.

"Why does he care for that maid?" Said Saizo, it was evident that he wasn't happy with the king's actions.

"Because he is in love, Saizo" Said Orochi.

"In love! With a Nohrian?" Now Saizo was altered.

"Is not the worst thing in the world. Besides, she wouldn't be the first foreign queen. After all, we don't even know where Mikoto was from." Said Kagero.

"I don't trust that woman, that is." Said Saizo.

"Don't worry Saizo, she won't be the queen." Assured Orochi.

"Did you have a vision?" Asked Saizo.

"Yes." Answered the diviner.

"Good." Replied Saizo.

"But she will give birth to the next king." Said Orochi with joy in her voice.

"Oh, for the love of…"
