The tension was at an all-time high when BoBoiBoy and his friends were stuck at Planet Gugura without transport nor help. Admiral Tarung was considerably angry with them today for their abysmal performance. Though they had the highest rate of Power Spheras captured during the term, it did not help when most of their feats were close calls or lucky breaks.

This time, Admiral Tarung had specifically tasked them to complete their mission on Planet Gugura using stealth methods. The moment they landed on the planet, everything seemed peaceful and lonely, in a good way. But one misstep from Gopal sent the group running for their safety.

BoBoiBoy's quick action of turning into Duri and ensnare the monster with his thorns kept his friends safe. Afterwards, they tried their hardest trying not to attract attention. It was fruitless. Every step they took was like trying to avoid landmines. The group was tired of trying to contain the danger they were in.

For the next few days, with the power sphera still at large, the group was drained and wished to be done with the mission, stealth or not. Even the jovial Yaya showed signs of stress. Ying accompanied her whenever she could, but there was no telling where or when she will snap. And the boys would not want to be in the vicinity when it happened.

One particular evening, the sky was almost dark. They decided to camp in a hollowed spaceship that fell there. As usual, they took turns in staying up, looking out for danger. But that particular night, BoBoiBoy did not feel as tired he was the nights before. So even though it was not his turn to keep watch, he accompanied Fang anyway, much to his chagrin.

"Oi BoBoiBoy, why aren't you asleep?"

BoBoiBoy stared at the frowning boy beside him, grinning.

"I'm not tired. So I think I'll accompany you tonight."

Fang crossed his arms and clicked his tongue.

"You should sleep. We have a long day tomorrow. We need you to be on your best so that you could lead us."

He giggled. "Lead you? I'm not the leader here, Fang. We all could pull ourselves together."

Fang sighed. "Do you know why we haven't been stealthy at all the moment we land here? That's because no one is communicating in the group. No one to scout, no one to plan, no one to lead and give orders. That's why we could barely pull off our missions."

BoBoiBoy was stunned. Fang was right. Maybe they needed someone to carry the team. But he was not ready for that. Deny it as he might, but he too had his stubborn spots where he might throw the balance of the team. But there was one person who could...

"Fang," BoBoiBoy started, "how about if you lead tomorrow? You had more experience in this than we do."

The shock was apparent on his face. Fang stammered. He did not expect that from him.

"Maybe... I can try. But I need someone to see if my plan is feasible."

"I can help you with that! Tell me what you had in mind."

Fang and BoBoiBoy spent hours planning in trying to locate the evasive power sphera that was somewhere on this planet. Ying's turn to keep watch was over hours ago. But they did not realise that. It was fun talking together like this. From the plan they concocted for tomorrow, they jumped from topic to topic like their time in Pulau Rintis and their views on life. It had been a while where they sat like this and talked the night away. Fang felt the burden he carried after landing on this planet slowly chipping away. BoBoiBoy certainly has his way to make people feel safe and sound.

But try as he might, the tire he felt never went away. Half his mind was saying that he should wake Ying up since it was her turn. But BoBoiBoy had other plans in mind.

"Let them be. We're safe here, don't worry."

Fang was too tired to argue. He nodded and took place on the ground to sleep. BoBoiBoy trotted behind him, placing himself by his side. Fang was alarmed.

"What are you doing?" The boy whispered. "They're here."

The boy in the orange took off his cap and smiled softly.

"I know. But it's been days. We're just sleeping together. They won't suspect a thing."

Fang was out of words. He was too tired to even think. So he just scooted closer to BoBoiBoy, their arms touched.

"You know, I wish I could hug you now," BoBoiBoy remarked.

Fang froze. "No." He said sternly. "Some other time."

"Promise?" BoBoiBoy held out a pinky finger on the arm that touched Fang's.

"Promise." Fang wrapped his pinky with BoBoiBoy's.

Fang quickly fell asleep the moment he closed his eyes. Once the boy beside him heard his silent snore, only then he dared to pull him closer. How he wished that they would be to do this openly. He knew it was near impossible. But it did not matter. As long as they were together, BoBoiBoy would not want anything more. He caressed the boy's mauve hair and kissed his temple before drifting off to Dreamland.
