Prologue
Voices called out in the winter. Voices of great creatures that protected Nature.
Elsa heard these voices and became fearful. She hugged herself as the voices sang out in the wintry air outside. The voices scared her greatly.
Finally, her fear drove her to seek out her parents. Her mother, Queen Iduna, was n the library, reading a book before she joined her husband in bed.
"Elsa?" the Queen inquired. "What are you doing up?"
"There are scary voices outside," Elsa replied as she hugged her mother. "I can't sleep."
Iduna smiled as she returned her daughter's hug.
"It can't be that bad," she said. "Let's go out onto the balcony. If anything bad happens, you can tell your father that it was my fault."
Elsa wasn't reassured by her mother's joke, but she still followed the Queen outside to the balcony. The wind was silent at first, but it was soon accompanied by the voices of an ethereal chorus, like Nature itself was singing.
"Oh, it's OK, Elsa," Iduna said. "That is the Chorus of the Great Ones. When I was a girl, my mother taught me about them. They are the ones who keep Nature alive."
"Are they nice?" Elsa asked.
"Some are. Some are big, scary birds that live in rivers of fire. But there are others who only want the best for everyone. My personal favorite is the one called Mosura. She's like a giant butterfly."
"Is she nice?"
"She's very nice. She loves all people, and she has even let people ride on her back. My father called her the Queen of the Monsters."
"If she's the Queen," Elsa wondered, "then who is her King?"
Iduna smiled. She remembered when she was as curious as her daughter was.
"Her King is Gojira. He is the strongest and the most powerful monster in the whole world. Everyone is scared of him, but he only wants what's best for us."
Elsa finally let a smile shine through. "I want to meet Mosura someday."
Iduna held Elsa close as she looked out at the sky. "Maybe you will, my little snowflake. Maybe."
The Chorus slowly ceased their song, only to be replaced by a woman's voice. It sang beautifully, and put Elsa's mind at ease.
"I think you just met her, Elsa!" Iduna cheerfully said. "That's her voice!"
The Queen of Arendelle sang along to Mosura's voice, taking turns in harmonizing with the voice. Elsa decided to join in and followed along with her mother. The three sang a wonderful song that calmed the nerves and soothed the mind.
"Did she say anything?" Elsa asked.
"She says that she wants to see you, my little snowflake," Iduna said as she set Elsa back down on the ground. "Let's go for a ride."
Elsa stood with her mother in the small glade. It was surrounded on all sides by trees.
"Where is she?" Elsa asked.
"We need to sing for her," Iduna replied. "That way, she can find us."
Iduna sang a beautiful song about Mosura, a song of her power and her beauty. Elsa didn't understand it, but she tried to follow along, anyway.
Mosura ya Mosura
Dengan kesaktian indukmu
Restuilah doa hamba hamba mu yang rendah bangunlah dan
tunjukkanlah
kesaktianmu
The song was immediately followed by a woman's voice that harmonized the song, repeating each note as it was sung.
And from over the treetops came a bright blue glow.
The glowing creature was like a massive butterfly, with big blue eyes and long legs. It's wings were so massive that it overshadowed the entire glade.
Elsa hid behind her mother in fright. Iduna smiled as she held up her hand to greet the Queen.
"I'm so happy to see you again, my Queen," she said.
The butterfly chittered in response. It extended one of it's mantis-like legs and pointed to Elsa.
"She's just a little scared. It's her first time."
Mosura seemed to understand and lowered her head to Elsa's level. Elsa peeked out from behind her mother and saw the massive blue eyes.
"H-Hi," she shyly greeted.
The butterfly uttered a low whistle in reply. Iduna smiled and looked down at her daughter.
"Go ahead," she assured. "She won't hurt you."
Elsa nervously stepped out from behind her mother and walked up to the giant bug. She held her hand out to touch it's furry head. Finally, she felt the fur under her hand. She laughed excitedly.
Mosura chittered softly. Elsa could actually hear a woman's voice in her head.
"Hello, little Elsa," it said sweetly. "I'm so happy to finally meet you."
