-Mr. Sir's POV-
"PENDANSKI! WAKE UP!" I yell at Dr. Pendanski, he's been acting differently for the past few days, almost oversleeping most of the time being one of them. At first me, the rest of the staff and the Warden just thought he'd had a rough night sleeping, but then it started getting more common for someone to have to be sent to wake him up. We know he's trying to sleep as if we didn't have to send someone to wake him up, but if this carries on, it's more than likely going to become a part of the staff morning routine to have to send someone to wake him up.
-Later that day (Still in Mr. Sir's POV.)-
"What've you found that's so important that you called a meeting without Dr. Pendanski and when we were finished with filling the children's canteens?" A Counsellor asks me. I'd taken advantage of Dr. Pendanski's evident need for more sleep and sent him off to bed before calling a meeting with the everyone on staff (Except the Warden, she's asleep, she isn't really staff, anyway.) about something I found in Dr. Pendanski's part of the Counsellor's room.
"Well, you see, I found a book in Dr. Pendanski's part of the Counsellor's room. I think it's a journal of some sort." I explain.
"Don't tell me you took it." One of them says. Before I can respond, however, the Counsellors and I hear the door opening to find the children of tent D, including the new kid, Stanley Yelnats, standing there.
"Uhh... We noticed the water truck was late, so we thought we should come and see if Dr. Pendanski was alright." The Yelnats boy, who hasn't been here for more than three weeks, explains. Then I remember that I forgot to send Dr. Pendanski out to refill the canteens before sending him to bed. I've now been introduced to the livid glares of the Counsellors who now look like they want to murder me. After filling the boys' canteens, I told them.
"Don't worry about Dr. Pendanski, he's just tired and I forgot to send him out with the water before telling him to go to bed." I hadn't entirely lied to them, just sugar-coated the truth.
"Now, you boys, go back to digging your holes, those holes won't dig themselves, after all." I sent them on their way before carrying on with the meeting. One of the Counsellors had to be physically restrained from attacking me and sent out to calm down a bit, but after that we carry on with the meeting, although not believing our luck that Dr. Pendanski and the Warden have so far slept through all this.
After a bit of discussion about the journal I'd found, we then began arguing about whether or not we should read it to try find out what's been causing Dr. Pendanski's peculiar behaviour.
"Are you lot seriously considering invading his privacy in one of the worst ways possible?" The Counsellor for tent B (The one who had to be sent out.) asks in shock, obviously not believing we're having this conversation. It's night time by now, so a few minutes later, we go to our respective rooms, still unsure about whether or not the journal should be read.
