Betrayal-1
It was a bright shining day, as a young, sculpted man was walking down the street, holding hands with a child, who looked around six years old, with an ice-cream in his hand, though the child wasn't smiling, as he had just gotten some sad news from the doctors.
"Dad?" He asked, looking up at the man who held his hand. "Why don't I have an amazing Quirk like you?"
"I'm sorry son, I know how much you wanna be a hero like me. But there is some good news." He smiled kneeling down to look at his son, before looking around to make sure nobody was listening in on their conversation. "Now listen Connor, what I'm about to tell you cannot be told to anyone else. Okay? Promise me you won't tell anyone about it."
"I promise dad." Connor stated looking his dad in the eye.
"My power, is one that can be handed down from one hero, to another." The man smiled, as a bright light began to glow in his hand. "The name of my power is One-for-All, and someday, when I find myself ready, I'll pass it on to you."
"Promise dad?" Connor asked in awe.
"On my word as All Might, I promise to pass my power on to you, when you're ready." Toshinori smiled, patting his son's head. "Now come on. Let's go home and watch your favorite movie."
~Nine Years Later
Being the child of a hero, especially the #1Hero, All Might, got said individual a lot of attention. Attention that said individual doesn't really care for. Connor Yagi was walking down the street, as a crowd had formed, due to a villain attack, running past him, was a familiar, friendly face he went to the same school with.
"Midoriya, if you stay to analyze the villain attack you're gonna be late for our first day to the final year of middle school." Connor called out.
Connor was a well-built young man, with a body that look sculpted and lean, with a ratio of 75% muscle, and 25% body fat.
"I'll be quick, I promise. I'll see you in class." Izuku Midoriya exclaimed.
Connor sighed as he went walking down the street, passing the attack all together, before he was pulled back into the alley by a hooked cane.
"Whoa." He gasped, before he felt a pair of lips press against his.
"Hey there Connor." The girl smiled.
"Hey Momo." Connor smiled, putting his hands on his girlfriend's hips, as she wore a completely different uniform from his, indicating she was from a different middle school.
"I never got to thank you for last night. It was amazing. We should do it again soon." Momo smiled.
"Momo please, we're in public and I'm pretty sure last night only happened because of a flook." Connor smiled. "C'mon, if we continue we're both gonna be late for school, and I just gave a friend of mine, grief over being late."
"All right fine, but you better make it up to me with dinner tonight Mr. Yagi." Momo smiled as they exited the alley.
"I'll be sure to. Ms. Yaoyorozu." Connor exclaimed straightening up his black hair.
Once that was done, Connor left for the school, arriving mere moments before Midoriya, as he caught up to him, after leaving the villain attack early.
"Hey I thought you'd be inside already?" Midoriya questioned.
"Got held up by something that needed my attention." Connor chuckled.
Once they were in class, they were greeted by a familiar blonde, with an explosive quirk, who was disgusted by the sight of them both. Not long after the class started, Katsuki Bakugo, began to declare how much better he was than the rest of the class, and declared he'd be better than All Might.
"Not gonna happen. Once I get my Quirk, you'll be leagues behind me." Connor exclaimed.
"Fat chance. You didn't get your quirk when we were kids, and you won't get it in the future. You and Deku are both trash. You were useless then, and you're useless now." Bakugo shouted.
"That's enough you two." The teacher exclaimed smacking them both upside the head. "Sit down and we'll start with the lesson."
Connor and Bakugo had a long standing rivalry, usually it was with Bakugo using his quirk on him and Midoriya, and somehow getting away with it, even in their teen years, when he should have gotten arrested for using his quirk the way he does.
Later on that day, Connor and Deku had gone their separate ways, with Connor having to work his part time job. But once he got to the food-cart, he found he wasn't needed for the day after all.
"Okay, great, so now what do I…"
~BOOM-EXPLOSION-FIRE~
"I'd know the sound of those explosions anywhere, Bakugo must have finally lost his mind." Connor exclaimed.
"Connor."
Said young man turned around to see a blonde man, skin and bones, wearing baggy clothing running up to him.
"Dad, what's going on?" Connor asked.
"I think I might have messed up. A villain I was transporting to the police station might have slipped out of my pocket." All Might panted.
"Slipped out of your pocket?" Connor asked in an, are you serious, tone.
"He was made of green slime, so I trapped him in a couple empty soda bottles, but the bottles must have fallen out of my pockets." All Might explained.
"That makes more sense." Connor stated. "Come on. If what you're saying is true, than we might be able to find them."
Connor and All Might went running to the shopping district, where the crowd was gathered, and found that it was indeed the slime villain that All Might had caught earlier.
"Dad, did you reach your limit already?" Connor asked, as All Might was supporting himself against a light post.
"Yeah I did. I don't know what to do now."
"Oh no, it looks like the villain has taken a hostage." A civilian from the crowd called out.
All Might and Connor looked at the slime villain, and found he was holding, Katsuki Bakugo hostage.
"Eh, I say good riddance to him." Connor grumbled.
"Connor you can't be serious." All Might gasped, not believing what his son just said.
Before All Might could question his son on why he said what he did, a familiar green haired boy went running out through the crowd, past the pro heroes, and to the villain holding the bully hostage.
"Midoriya." Connor gasped.
All Might looked on as the boy, he had shattered the dreams of, went running for the villain, and threw his backpack as a distraction, before he began clawing at the slime villain to try and get him to let go of Katsuki.
"Crap, he's gonna get himself killed." Connor glared, before he noticed steam coming off of his dad, as the blonde man began to grow larger, his muscles filling out his arms, while he grew to a mountain of a man. "Dad?"
Without a word, All Might was no longer by the light post, and was blocking a strike from the slime villain about to kill Midoriya. After grabbing the arms of both Midoriya and Bakugo, All Might performed his signature Detroit Smash, and sent the villain scattering away, dousing the flames, and changing the weather in the process.
"That was so amazing." Connor smiled.
Later on, after avoiding the press, Connor was walking down the streets of the residential area, to get ready for his date with Momo. Though to his shock, he stopped when he saw his dad talking with Midoriya.
"I was wrong earlier, when I said you couldn't be a hero… You have the will, the determination, and the heart, to be a hero. So the answer to your question, yes, you too can become a hero." All Might exclaimed with a smile on his face as he pointed a finger at Midoriya.
"Connor smiled, softly, hearing these words as he hid around the corner from their sight. He know his dad was perfect for uplifting Midoriya's spirits, since Midoriya was quite the fanboy of All Might. The raven haired boy decided to let them be, but as he was about to, he stopped in his tracks, as what he heard next, made his heart stop.
"Originally I was going to pass my power on to Connor, my son. But after hearing something he said today, I don't believe he will ever be ready to inherit the power of One-for-All. He just stood there, as your classmate was being held hostage, not caring at all what happened to him, unlike you, you who ran into the fray, and risked your life to save him. That is why, I have chosen you to pass my power on to you instead." All Might explained.
Before Midoriya could say anything, Connor made his presence known, by throwing a rock at the back of All Might's head. The blonde hero turned around to see his son, with the most pained, and hurt look, he had ever since he was told he would never have a quirk.
"What the hell dad?" Connor asked tears threatening to trail down his cheeks.
"C-Connor." All Might said, staring at his son in shock.
"You promised me. You fucking promised me, on your fucking name, you would give me the power of One-for-All. You said I would be the next Symbol of Peace, the next All Might." Connor exclaimed, his fists clenched in anger.
"I was, but hearing you say good riddance to your classmate, I knew that if I passed my quirk on to you, there was a guarantee you'd be selective about who you saved, and who you left behind." All Might stated. "You don't have what it takes to be the next Symbol of Peace."
Those words hit Connor in the heart, like a bullet-train.
"If you don't pass your quirk down to me, then I'll be totally quirkless, my chances of getting into U.A will be zero, and I'll be known as a loser, a fraud, to everyone I've told I'd be getting a quirk in time for the U.A entrance exams." Connor stated.
"I'm sorry son, but you had your chance, now if young Midoriya accepts my offer, I will train him to be the next Symbol of Peace." All Might exclaimed.
Connor looked at Midoriya and charged at him, grabbing the young boy's shirt from the front.
"Midoriya please, decline his offer, you know how much being a hero means to me, if you accept this offer my dreams will be shattered." Connor exclaimed. "Please Midoriya, as your friend, decline his offer."
Midoriya looked at Connor with pain in his eyes, as he thought. 'This is my one and only shot at becoming a hero. I'm sorry Connor, but I can't let this opportunity pass me by. I truly am sorry, but even if I decline he's not going to give One-for-All to you, he'll just find someone else to pass it down to… I'm sorry.'
"I'm sorry Connor… but I can't…" Midoriya stated before turning to All Might. "I accept your offer, All Might."
Connor's world shattered, as tears began to fall down his face. He felt his heart shatter with betrayal, and in a fit of rage, raised his fist and smashed it into Midoriya's face, sending him to the ground in a splatter of blood, before Connor got on top of him and began assaulting him repeatedly.
"You. Stupid. Fucking. DEKU." Connor shouted, repeating the punch, until he was stopped by All Might wrapping his arms around him and pulling him off.
"That's enough young man. This is not how a hero behaves." All Might exclaimed, in a scolding tone.
"Then I guess I'm no hero." Connor declared, slamming his left elbow into a spot on All Might's torso, he knew was his weakness.
All Might, released Connor in pain, and held his side, that housed an injury that left him with half a stomach, that he received five years ago. The injury had also shot his respiratory system to hell, and left him with being only able to do three hours of hero work a day.
"You fucking promised me One-for-All." Connor shouted, grabbing Midoriya's shirt again. "But then you break that promise, and decide to give it to him. I won't stand for it." He declared raising his fist.
With the pain holding him down, All Might was helpless to watch as his son beat the living crap out of Midoriya. Leaving the boy unconscious, and in a bloody mess.
When Connor felt he had his fill of beating on Midoriya, he went over to where All Might was laying and stomped on the back of his head, forcing All Might's face into the asphalt of the street.
"Do you know why I said good riddance, when Bakugo was being held captive by that slime villain? It's because he's a fucking monster. Every single damned day, he assaults me, and Deku with his Quirk, and gets away with it scot free. He's no hero. He's a villain, and guess what?" Connor exclaimed lifting his foot off All Might's head, before kicking it, forcing All Might to hit the wall. "I swear, I will fucking end you. If it's the last thing I do, I will end you, just as your master was ended." Connor stated, no longer referring to the man as his father, as he grabbed him by the neck and held him against the wall. "This I swear."
Dropping All Might to the ground, leaving with one final kick to All Might's stomach, Connor grabbed his school bag and threw it as hard as he could against Midoriya's unconscious and broken body, causing more damage, and left the blonde and green haired duo to writhe in pain.
'Why? Why did I just sit here and do nothing?' All Might questioned, clutching his side in pain as he pulled out his cell phone, dialing for emergency contacts. 'I should have stopped him, I could have stopped him, but why didn't I? Is it because I didn't wish to use my power against my son? I know he's angry, but can my betrayal really have hurt him this badly? What's more, he never told me the truth about why he came home every day, covered in those burns, and injuries. I'm a failure as a father.'
"9.1.1, what's your emergency?" The operator asked.
"Send… an ambulance…" He managed to say, before he passed out.
~Elsewhere, an undisclosed location sometime later
"All Might want's someone who's not his son to be his successor? Fine, then I'll just expose the truth about him to the public." Connor exclaimed rummaging through his desk, finding a thick folder of information he gathered on his father, and how his Quirk works.
"What's that you got there my boy?"
Connor didn't turn around, as he knew who that voice belonged to, and why the owner of it was there. He just simply looked up, seeing his own reflection in the glass of his window.
"Everything I have on All Might, and One-for-All. I wanted to learn more about the power that could have been mine, I wanted an understanding of it, before it was passed on to me. But seeing as it's not going to me, I figure the public should know what All Might's power truly is, and how much time he has left as a hero. Don't you think, Gran-Torino?" Connor asked holding the envelope he held tight in his hands. "If you're here to turn me in, then you've got another thing coming."
"I am, but I just want to understand one thing before I do so, my boy. Why beat your father and your best friend, to near death, over a broken promise?" Gran-Torino asked, standing strong behind Connor.
"Do not, reefer to that bastard as my father, or that traitor as my best friend. As far as I'm concerned, my father is dead, and so is that damned Deku. An' someday I'll end them both, just like how Nana Shimura was ended." Connor stated, shouting the first sentence in anger. "All Might promised me I'd inherit One-for-All. He raised my hopes for nine years, promising me, I'd become a great hero, just like him one day. I'd be the next Symbol of Peace. But then he chooses that damned dumbass nerd, over me. All because I don't care what happens to the life of someone who assaults me every single damned day."
'He's mad, because Toshinori broke the promise, without fully understanding what was going on between him, and the boy that slime villain held hostage today. I see. The mental shock, of the promise being broken, after expecting it for nine years, broke his mind, and made him into something he wasn't before.' Gran-Torino exclaimed, in understanding. 'He took his anger out on his father, and best friend, because the pain of the betrayal sourced from them. I'll be sure to have a talk with Toshinori about jumping to conclusions. But first…'
"Listen Connor, I understand you're upset, but you beat All Might, and Izuku Midoriya to near death. So I don't have much choice but to bring you in." Gran-Torino stated. "So come quietly, and we can resolve this and maybe, All Might will change his mind about who he transfers One-for-All to."
"Not gonna happen." Connor stated, his back still to the older hero. "I made a promise to end All Might, just like how All-for-One, ended Nana Shimura, and unlike, All Might, I intend to keep it." He growled, his eyes glowing with anger. "If you try to stop me, you'll be joining him in death."
'He plans on killing his old man, just for breaking a promise?' Gran-Torino questioned. "I'm not gonna let you boy." Gran-Torino exclaimed, using his quirk to launch himself at Connor from behind.
To the older heroes shock, Connor just side stepped out of the way, before slamming a knee into Torino's stomach, sending him into the ceiling, with his eyes rolled back into his head.
"Did you forget, I trained with you for four years after the fight All Might suffered from five years ago?" Connor asked, as Gran-Torino fell to the ground, motionless. "I know all your moves, all your tricks, and how to take you down with one strike."
Connor turned around to his closet, opening it up, revealing the suit he was gonna use for his hero training at U.A, when he got One-for-All.
"Guess you're not going to be used for hero work." Connor said, grabbing the suit, and putting it in his backpack. "Take care Gran-Torino. Give a message to All Might for me will you? Tell him, I'm willing to talk, when he decides to give me, One-for-All, instead of Izuku Midoriya. Oh and don't worry, the paralysis will only last for an hour."
With that Connor left the bedroom, leaving Gran-Torino to lay paralyzed, while Connor went through town, grabbing a newspaper.
"Hmm, two civilians were found earlier today, beaten and bloody, knocking at death's door. The paramedics managed to get them treatment as soon as possible, but it is not yet known who committed the assault. The two victims of this crime, Izuku Midoriya, and Yagi Toshinori, are currently in the I.C.U, the heroine Recovery Girl, is reported to be arriving on the scene at a later time." Connor read aloud. "Well, just great. I guess the only thing to do now is to find a place to stay."
"I can help you with that."
Connor turned to an alleyway, and saw a man, wearing a bartender's attire, with his hands, and head, made of purple mist, with two golden yellow eyes, and armor around his neck.
"Who the fuck are you?" Connor questioned.
"Someone, who works with a man who can give you what you want, Son of All Might." Kurogiri stated.
"Don't call me that. That bastard is no father of mine." Connor stated.
"Still, the man I work for can give you what you desire." Kurogiri stated.
"What is it you think I desire?" Connor asked.
"Power." Kurogiri stated.
After a moment of contemplation, Connor sighed, and looked across the street, seeing Momo Yaoyorozu sitting at a table, waiting for him. He looked away, and pulled out his cellphone, texting her and apology, that he wouldn't be able to make it, because his dad was in the hospital. It wasn't a complete lie, since his dad was in the hospital, he just wasn't going to go see him.
"All right, take me to who it is you work for." Connor stated, snapping his phone in half.
If Kurogiri could smile, he would have, before enveloping Connor in a warp portal of mist. From Connor's point of view, he was standing in the middle of the street one moment, but the next, he was standing in a lab, in front of a man, connected to different breathing tubes, and wires that monitored his condition.
Connor's eyes widened upon seeing who it was. Recognizing him instantly.
"Welcome, Connor my boy." All-for-One smiled. "It is a pleasure to see you again."
