Prologue

Far North of Underland, was the Lyonhall Kingdom known also as the Kingdom of Spades. It rained over a large Island known as Euthoria, well known for its beauty and purity. In this kingdom, all creatures and people alike lived in a time of great peace. No crime went unjust, no enemy unvanquished, and no evil unleashed. On a day of celebration, the three heirs of Lyonhall had come of age to rule. As part of coming of age to rule, The King and Queen of Spades set out their three heirs to the land of Underland to start anew.

In that land of Underland, wonder and impossible things made possible, it was said the three heirs of Lyonhall brought peace to the land of Underland and made their three kingdoms. Memorial, Salazem Grum, and Witzend. Many strange and unusual creatures dwelled in the lands of Underland and the most unique people lived in the towns and cities that traveled from the Island of Euthoria and those of Underland. The kingdoms of Underland ruled justly with compassion and leadership of their former King and Queen. Many generations had come and gone.

Centuries had past and peace still flourished throughout the land. One fateful day, that all changed. Word had come to the kingdoms of Underland that the Kingdom of Lyonhall had fallen. A darkness had been released from a long, deep slumber and had been taking over the Island of Euthoria. Many had fallen to the darkness as others fallen to it and joined its cause. All that stood against it now was the descendents of the Lyonhall royal family and the remainder of the royal army.

The King and Queen of the time ordered for their one and only next heir to the throne to be taken and sent away to be kept safe. The King had his most trusted and loyal adviser to take the child and leave the island.

"Please, keep our child safe and taken far from here. I pray that one day we will meet again." The King said his goodbyes as well as the Queen.

"Yes your highness. I will guard her with my life." The king's adviser said as he bowed the King and Queen.

"Take this as well. It will be the hope and future of all lands. I just hope it will defeat the darkness once and for all." The King handed his adviser a leather pouch that contained a most precious secret and the hope of the future.

"Fairfarren, my majesties." The adviser bowed once more and as he took the child, The King and Queen watched with tear filled eyes as their only child and heir went far out of their reach and on to safer lands.

"Fairfarren and may our hopes fly with you." The King said as he raised his sword and his Queen followed in suite. Both ran to join the troops that prepared for battle.

The king's adviser reached the borders of the island and boarded the last ship to leave in the nearest harbor. In the distance he could see the darkness engulf the castle and just as it was completely swallowed, he saw a blinding white light burst through the darkness and blinded him. As his sight returned, he saw the castle was in ruins and the once beautiful land turned to darkness and was no longer full of life.

The ship sailed to the land of Underland where the King's advisor sought out a way to take the King and Queen's child to a safe place and protect the royal child with his life.
