A/N: Hello! Some people may know me as IIJamesII but I decided I wanted a new account for something new I have wanted to start working on. I don't if this idea will stick because it really depends if anyone actually would like to submit a character.

Lewis Hussain

11, Male

It's July 31st, the day I had been waiting forever for since I was born. It was letter day, this was the day every wizard or witch received that parchment in an envelope that changed their lives forever.

I wash my face in the dirty sink of the community home and squeeze at the white pimples that grow on my face, puberty sucked but now I was going to be able to go to Hogwarts, the school my parents had always talked about before...well before their deaths. I still remember the day I had been playing with the dog in my playroom and the strange figure had walked through the door, hooded and wearing a mask. They had walked over to me and kicked me to the floor, that's when I heard the deafening bangs.

I shake as I think about that day, the day the police had rushed in and taken me to this dreaded place. Ever since I had been longing for my 11th birthday, May 20th, and then today.

"Hey, twerp! Turn the tap off would ya?" A voice screams from down the hallway, I hate it here. Everybody calls me crazy after I told them of the magic that I knew of and I had learned that it was something I needed to keep to myself. I turn the tap off and walk back to my room to get some clothes on.

I opened the shared wardrobe of the room that I shared with 3 other boys. It was packed and stuffy but I would be out of here soon and I didn't mind if that meant I had to sleep with these bozo brains for a few years because I was going to the best wizardry school in the entire world. My long smile stretches across my brown-skinned face and reaches my chestnut brown eyes. Whenever I talked about Hogwarts it made me giddy.

"Breakfast!" Comes a shout from downstairs, Mrs. Carson probably. Mr. and Mrs. Carson owned this home and they only took care of us to earn some extra cash. I forget to put some clothes on and stop halfway down the stairs, only to run back up again. I pull on a white shirt and put on another blue sweater over the top of it. Then, I put on some jeans and fix my jet black hair in the mirror of the wardrobe.

"Hussain! Want breakfast or not?" I rush back down the stairs and scoop up my bowl of all-bran off the kitchen counter, sliding with my socks into the dining room. There are only 7 seats around the table and all are occupied so a girl and I have to sit on the floor and eat our dry oatmeal.

"Any mail, yet?" I ask, between spoonfuls of oatmeal.

"Why, is it that magic lunatic school?" The girl next to me mocks and everybody else laughs, including Mr. and Mrs. Carson, I knew not to get angry at this because that only made things worse.

"Mail doesn't come 'til 9." Mr. Carson says and chuckles to himself. I check my watch:

8:53

Only 7 more minutes and tomorrow I'd be on my way to Hogwarts.

Around 6 minutes later, I check my watch and realize that it's 9 am on the dot. I rush into the kitchen and dump my bowl and spoon into the sink, then rushing back to the door. The doorbell had just rung, funny I thought owls delivered mail.

I answer the door to a tall man with a goatee and a bald head.

"Hello, I'm Professor. Warner, Professor of charms at Hogwarts." I expected this to happen but I just stand there, my mouth wide open in amazement. This was really happening.

The Carson's walk in and the man introduces himself again. We sit at the table and the rest of the kids go upstairs to their rooms, confused and curious is written all over their faces.

Professor. Warner gives me my letter and I hold it tight against my chest, closing my eyes and dreaming as he tells the Carson's everything my parents had told me, I didn't need to listen because I knew everything already.

Finally, I decide to rip open the letter and read it out loud, I wonder if my parents are watching me.
