Title: God Descends

Summary: [Challenge] Enel was sitting on his throne after conquering his home island Birka bored, when invaders from the Blue Sea made him think. It's time for the Blue Sea to learn God's power.

Thanks for taking the team to read this! I'm hoping one of you can help me with putting this idea into action, as my own skills would not be able to do it justice.

I was watching this video (link above) by King of Lightening and he made many good points about Enel, and where he would stand in comparison to others in the One Piece verse. So, what would happen if Enel actually went down the Blue Sea?

Now, there are few ways that you could go about this, but you must be careful because it would be very easy to make Enel too overpowered. You also must keep in mind that Enel's attitude at where he was when Luffy met him would probably be a hard character to adapt into a fic surrounding him. It would be even harder to make him a stable consistent side character.

So, what's my proposal? Let's take a step back and talk about who Enel is to answer that. He is a Cloud Dweller(I don't know what the winged people are called, but he's not Skypian) that came to Skypia with his priests(presumably) after destroying his the sky island that he came from and usurped the position as God from Ganfall. From there he ruled as a tyrant over Skypia and Upper Yard while gathering resources to build the arc Maxim and go to Fairy Vearth. Until he meets his worse match; Monkey D Luffy.

Now, I really liked where serpentguy went in his fic 9 Minutes(if you haven't read it yet, I would recommend it) and Enel admits that he destroyed his island because his people's fear and hatred of his power, despite him protecting them.

What envision is starting out seeing a young Enel training in fighting, as it is canon that he could handle himself well in both armed and unarmed combat. From there, him learning of Mantra, or Observation Haki, and various fights where he defends Birka from raiders of the White Sea. His power naturally makes him popular and he's arrogant as a result (he wouldn't be Enel without that), when he finds the Rumble Rumble fruit. After that, through training and more fights, Enel has achieved a power similar to what we see in Skypia.

Upon reaching this level of power, the people of Birka become increasingly wary and fearful of Enel. This frustrates Enel, but he continues to perform his duty and pays them less and less mind over time and continue to get more bored as time goes on.

Until, one day pirates from the Blue Sea make their way to the White Sea and try to attack Birka Enel responds to their arrival with excitement, as he can tell that some of them are powerful and seeks to use them to cure his boredom.

Upon meeting the pirates, he takes out most of the crew with minimal effort and is disappointed. However, the Captain surprises him with an attack and manages to hit Enel, shocking him. Enel takes the fight seriously at that point and while battling the Pirate Captain Enel asks what power allowed him to hit Enel's body. The pirate proceeds to tell Enel about Armament Haki, and that tons of people in the world know how to use it.

Enel, now on guard, attacks seriously and after a drawn-out battle, Enel claims victory but does not escape uninjured. After the fight ends, Enel feels amazing despite taking a few good hits and concludes that the thing he had been missing in his life since becoming so powerful was the thrill of battle and the excitement of the unknown. The pirate Captain, close to death, tells Enel that the world is a huge place and that there are many other people out there stronger than him. Enel thanks the Captain for making him realize what he has been missing, before kicking him off the sky island to his death.

After this, weeks and months go by, and Enel has become bored again. But then something occurs to him while he reminisces about his fight with the Pirate Captain – why not go down to the Blue Sea and see what it has to offer? Anything is better than endless boredom, and his patience for the people of Birka has gradually grown smaller over time, so what is there to lose?

It's time that the Blue Sea learns the power of God, and if he can get rid of his boredom, all the better.

Considerations:

For the sake of consistency, let's say it is a theme that most rulers of sky islands are given the title God(I can't imagine Skypia is the origin of that) and that Enel was given that title at his home sky island Birka after defending them for years against invaders.

Enel is amazing with this Observation Haki but has never encountered Armament or Conqueror's Haki. What would happen if he learned them?

Enel is arrogant, but not quite to the extent he was in Skypia.

This would probably have to be start several years prior to Luffy going out to sea.

I have many more things I could throw in here, but at the end of the day this will be your fic, not mine. I'm just a guy trying to see a cool idea brought into reality – you're the person who will make that happen.
