This is my new crossover story. I will try not to include too many OC's and use the available characters as much as possible.
Some information here I changed to my own whim and is not canon. There's also a few hints I left sprinkled in. Some subtle some not so subtle. I want to see if people can see them.
I have finally decided to do Gundam Seed so I can get comfortable in a world I am familiar with. If this proves popular enough I'll do other Gundam series that I am interested in.
Those are: 00, Iron Orphans and Destiny. I would love to do the Universal Century stories but I know I would have trouble in writing those.
Stay safe everyone, be alert but not alarmed.
This is a non-profit literary fanfiction work. I do not own Gundam Build Divers or Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise or Gundam Seed. They are both owned by Sunrise and the the story writers and directors who gave birth to this series.
Any other material or characters that may pop up belong to their respective creators.

A shining red light in the vastness of space darts around as it attempts to avoid a barrage of artillery fire and narrowly dodges the metal projectiles. The red light's monoeye swings around to try and locate it's pursuer. As the light of a nearby colony shines by, the figure is revealed to be a robot sporting crimson red colors. A horn in the middle of it's head and missing it's right leg. A rectangular shield mounted on it's right shoulder with a spiked pauldron on it's left.
This is a mobile suit. The latest in warfare technology in the Universal Century. The distance between a mobile suit and its predecessor: the Fighter Jet, was so vast of a gap it has been equaled to the length of space between the Earth and it's moon. When the time came for the Mobile Suits to grace the battlefield, the victory they had attained became so widespread it brought terror to its enemies as they witnessed the machines brutal effectiveness.
But the current appearance of this Mobile Suit was contradictory to that statement. It's once bright red coat on it's shield was now blackened with various dents made into it's exterior. It's only remaining leg no longer having a foot. Tossing aside it's not ammo-less rifle it reached back to take out it's last remaining weapon, the Type-5 Heat Hawk, and power it on.
"I have never seen a Mobile Suit maneuver that fast before. If I was not being hunted down by it I would have enjoyed this bout." Inside of the red Mobile Suit sits a man who oddly is not wearing a pilot suit despite the dangers of outer space. He was garbed in red military attire and crowned with an exotic piece of head wear. Where you would normally see the eyes, goggles were worn instead. Hints of the man's natural blonde hair hang behind him.
"Still, where did it come from? It obviously does not belong to the Federation seeing how it gunned down their new carrier." The masked figure gave off a slight smirk as he remembered how this Unknown obliterated the new battleship carrier cruiser. As well as that new white Mobile Suit that went berserk and stupidly spent all of its energy. Leaving it completely defenseless. He would have downed the White One himself if it wasn't viciously ripped apart by the Unknown.
In truth, the appearance of this Unknown at that time both elated and annoyed him. On one hand, the masked man's mission has gotten extremely easier. On the other, if this was the new prototype of his faction... he might have some trouble in accomplishing his revenge.
That was until the Unknown started firing on him. He was shocked of course. He tried to hail the Unknown Mobile Suit but his call was all but ignored! How rude of this person. Unexpectedly, the Unknown broke off pursuit and before he could relax and question what had just happened, the masked man's second in command was making a SOS signal. Stating how an Unknown Mobile Suit was decimating them. Before the masked man could ask for clarification the signal was cut suddenly and an eerie static haunted the channel afterwards.
To the masked man's dismay, the Unknown then continued to hunt himself down. Despite the combat experience the masked man possessed, he was vastly overpowered, out gunned and simply overwhelmed by this Unknown unit. Reluctantly, he admitted that perhaps today was the day he was going to perish. But he sure was not going to go out without a bang. Let it be known that Char Aznable did not go whimpering into the night but roared confidently to the face of the specter of death that came for him.
"Huh? An Unknown? Why now of all time-?" A man in an all pale green pilot suit winces when he hears the piercing scratch of static. Looking up to the sky from his equally pale green Mobile Suit, he could see a tiny dot slowly becoming bigger until the general outline of a humanoid Mobile Suit revealed itself with some sort of shining green dust trailing behind it.
It had a general white color scheme with a secondary blue color scheme to balance it out. It lands smoothly onto the ground facing towards the audience of today's showcase. Turning suddenly towards the man in green. It stands silently, waiting.
Getting back into the seat of the new prototype he was supposed to be demonstrating today, the open hatched plateau of the cockpit slides back into its body before resetting back to its default position.
The man presses a button to turn on the speakers so he could communicate with this Unknown. "Hey! What's the big idea? Who the hell are you? Union? Perhaps the HRL? Well, either way, you've got guts storming in here uninvited. Don't think you can get away from this!"
He is his military's ace. An outstanding pilot if he could say so himself. Undefeated in mock battle and he sure was not going to let that record break now! "Hey you!" The man lets out "Do you have any idea who I am? I am The AEU's Patrick Colasour! Never beaten in mock combat, Mr Special to you pal!" The man moves his right control joystick in a certain motion before pressing a button.
On the right hand's wrist of his mobile suit, a hatch opens revealing a handle of sorts. Pulling it out, the handle reveals itself to be a switch blade. The blade slides out into position then letting out a sonic frequency that made a piercing sound. It would have injured his ears but thanks to being inside a cockpit it was an annoyance at worse. "I won't take any "I didn't know" nonsense!"
Waiting for a response, Patrick waits for his opponent before his small amount of patience reached its peak resulting in him just charging at his opponent without waiting for a response. "Oi! Say something!" Just as his prototype Enact's Sonic Blade was about to reach the Unknown, it reacted.
For its small stature the white Unknown possessed lighting quick reflexes since Patrick didn't realize until he heard a thud from his speakers that his Enact's hand was chopped cleanly off from the wrist. Dumbfounded, Patrick broke out of his shock to let out a shot from his Linear Rifle only to see the white Unknown gracefully twirl to its right. Mid twirl, the white Unknown pulls out a handle from behind its right shoulder with its left hand. The handle lets out a pink energy-like beam in the shape of a saber before engaging with Patrick's Mobile Suit.
As the white Unknown ruthlessly tore apart the Enact, Patrick let out a pathetic response to the way he was being manhandled by the enemy.
"You bastard! You just don't get it do you?! I'am!" The Enact's left arm gets sliced off from the shoulder by the pink energy blade.
"Special!" The blade that was mounted on the unknown's right arm, the same blade that chopped off the Enact's hand earlier finished off the right arm by slicing the remaining limb off from the right shoulder joint.
"I have done 2000 of these!" Before the Enact's dismembered body could it the ground, the white Unknown sheathes its bladed weapons.
As the Enact's body crashed onto the ground, everyone within the vicinity could hear Patrick Colasour screaming "Mock battles you know!"
Inside the cockpit of the Enact, the embarrassed squeamish face of Patrick was visible. Eyes now closed in shame, Patrick let out a whimper from the humiliating way he was bested in combat from an upstart Unknown. Several questions raced in his mind as he continued whimpering. What was that unit? Where on Earth did it come from? But most importantly, why was it just standing there.
Patrick may be dimwitted but he recognized that he was at the mercy of this hostile entity and was terrified that he could lose his life to this Unknown. So you could say that he was somewhat surprised that this Unknown just left him alone and simply floated away.
"Huh what do you kno-" That was the last thing the man known as Patrick Colasour said as several discharges of green energy beams hit the head of the Enact, on causing a chain reaction. Where once the Enact was a fiery explosion took its place.
Inside the white Mobile Suit known as the Exia, Setsuna F Seiei's eyes narrow as an unexpected development occurred. According to Miss Sumeragi Lee Noriega's forecasts, the AEU should have responded by sending reinforcements to his position. Setsuna would then proceed to stall for time because Miss Sumeragi Lee Noriega predicted that the AEU would send reinforcements from its pillar. Revealing to the world that the AEU had Mobile Suits stationed in their orbital elevator which was an infraction on the treaty. By exposing this, Celestial Being could unveil the fact that the AEU had more considerable military power than agreed upon by the treaty.
However before Setsuna could move on to the 2nd phase of the plan, ironically, an Unknown interrupted his mission and was now currently dispatching all reinforcements from the AEU. What disturbed him about the Unknown unit was that it looked eerily similar to the Exia and was even outfitting a GN Solar Furnace Reactor of its own. Unlike the Exia though, it was emitting green energy beam particles instead of pink from its beam weapons.
From what the Gundam Meister could gather was that there are only 5 GN Drives active in the world. One in his machine the Exia, another in the Dynames, the third in the Kyrios, the fourth in the Virtue and finally the 0 Gundam's GN Drive was being used in their branch organization. So whoever this person was must have acquired a GN Drive of their own through unknown means.
Seeing how this was a big disturbance in their plans, Setsuna contacted his teammate Lockon Stratos to see if he knew who this Unknown was and what to do next. Finding it strange that Lockon was not answering to his call he wonders what could have happened. While Lockon looked like a laid back individual, he was not one to slack off in a mission.
When the call finally connected Setsuna was surprised to see Lockon in the state that he was in. The glass on his helmet visor was completely shattered and he was bleeding profusely above his right eyebrow. "Se-Setsuna... Ambushed... b-by Unknown... Unknown... has a G-GN Drive... It's a hostile... Contac-..." Setsuna sat still has he saw the light in Lockon's eye fade signalling the passing of his life.
While not a close friend of Lockon, he considered the sniper a good person. Looking towards the Unknown Setsuna grips onto the handles of the control joysticks and readies to engage. "Setsuna F Seiei, proceeding to eliminate the target." The furnace of Exia's GN Drive ignite, releasing a gust of green shining particles as the GN-001 flies into the air to eliminate the Unknown through armed intervention.
"Do you know of this man?" A man wearing a black skin tight outfit asks his opponent. In order to win his father's freedom as well as bring his blood brother to justice, the student of the Undefeated of the East was tasked in finding his kin by his country's government. A task he was more than willing to take on.
"Never seen him! I-I don't know! Ah-Ah! I've never seen him before in my life!" His opponent replied. Letting out a sigh of disappointment the student of the greatest fighter closes his eyes. From what his government was able to tell him, his brother had stolen a machine known as "The Devil" and took off to Earth with it. For working on such a project his father was frozen for his crimes until proven innocent. This confused the male as he remembered his father not being the type of person to construct such a monster.
Before the young man could proceed in eliminating his opponent from the tournament a warning siren blares out to which his eyes snap open in genuine surprise. A proximity alert was being signaled and from what he could see from his peripheral vision it was some sort of beam attack from his left. His instinct roaring at him to dodge, the man jumps in the air with a somersault to move out of the way. Sadly, the opponent he was interrogating was not so lucky.
Shock and horror was registered in the young man's mind when he saw that the beam attack went straight for his opponents cockpit. A direct hit right in the center of the chest. A few seconds later, the Mobile Suit's arms falls limply before it explodes.
As the young man landed on his feet, the world went silent after witnessing such an act. Turning his head around to the direction of the source of that attack, his eyes land on a peculiar Mobile Suit. Peculiar in the sense that it did not look like a conventional fighter but rather something from the old ages.
His senses calming down, the young man furiously yells at this Unknown fighter.
"You! Whoever you are! You have not only trespassed into my duel but also broke 2 other tournament regulations! State your name and origin!" Getting into a fighter's stance he awaits his new opponent's decree of challenge only to be surprised by it suddenly vaulting forward then rapidly heading towards him via the verniers on its back.
"Coward!" Indeed he thought so. Not only had did this person break the regulations but he purposely let 2 fighters tire themselves out before going in for the kill. Not that kills weren't sanctioned. As long as it was proven accidental they were allowed. This person however seemed to not care at all if he was breaking the rules. The young man scoffed thinking that this was possibly a rookie who thought he wouldn't get caught by the officials.
'He's in for a surprise' the young man thought vindictively.
The young man started running forward himself to engage in melee combat with this Unknown. Again, surprise then anger fuels him as he sees that this Unknown reveal cannons that was attached to its backpack. The young man halts and pulls out it's beam saber from it's holster to defend himself from the beams that were about to be shot. Only for his eyes to widen when he saw the energy output of the cannons. It was a long and continuous beam that was white with a red center smack in the middle.
Cursing out loud, he widely sidesteps to his right to dodge only to freeze when he remembered that the kidnapped girl from earlier and her family were just in that location. When he landed he attempted to dash to their location only to look on in horror when the beam landed right at the center of the family. The last thing the young man saw of them, was the family tearfully embracing each other before being vaporized into nothing.
He could hear the chocked gasp of his partner in the channel and he couldn't reprimand her when he heard her start crying profusely. He himself could feel the tears threatening to burst out from his eyes. Clenching his fists hard the young man turns around to see the Unknown fighter staring at him. It now had a beam saber of it's own out and it's free hand stretched out towards him, palm open. It waved a condensing come hither motion.
"You... YOU!" his rage envelops him as he stares at his opponent. Lights appear on his black skin tight suit at his shoulders, forearms, legs and his feet and the young man feels a small pop sensation go off on those locations. This was his secret weapon but he gladly would reveal it if it meant stopping this villain. The student of the Undefeated of the East, Domon Kasshu, raises his hand to his face.
"This hand of mine glows with an awesome power! Its burning grip tells me to defeat you! Here I go! Shining Finger!" A golden aura envelops him before his Suit's body turns golden. Charging towards this Unknown, Domon screams out his anger and reaches out to the Unknown's head.
"So far, everything is within the projections, sir. Right now we are going over the last series before we can start the experiment. Right now, Group C and E have been tapped to proceed with the deployment." A male in a futuristic science outfit wearing a visor goggle with a microphone attached from the ear was giving out the latest report his team was currently reviewing.
The figure that was listening to it was short in stature and nodded in confirmation. "Good work. If this proves successful then we would not only have made a major breakthrough in technology but also in history. To think ... the day where we can meet and interact with characters from the Gundam Universe is actually becoming a reality." Truly anyone who would call themselves a Gundam fan would salivate at such a chance.
It took some pressuring to the Higher-Ups but they finally relented when they saw just how much capital they would rake in from this enterprise. So far there have been no major bugs that they could not fix and even when there were it was a simple patch job.
As the science officer bows and walks away, the short figure casts its eyes towards the many screens in front of him. The main screen consisted of all the data that was being calculated and performed. The many other but smaller screens around the big one were video showcases of their experiments being conducted. So far they have elected to experiment on 4 different since that was the maximum amount their servers can hold the data at max capacity until they upgrade their machines. It would cost a lot of money to upgrade but if they were to produce just even one of these to the populace, they could easily cover the cost within the month.
Of course considering the product, it would be an insult if it wasn't the original series so they had to focus on that more primarily. That however was a monumental task considering the vast amount of content produced in that era. Experts were brought in to help implement the timeline but they could only do so much considering that new material was still being published to this day.
"Oh the joy of a maniac" the short figure lets out in wonder. He too would love to enjoy the product but after the fiasco with the emerging electronic sub species now known as the El-Divers he was on thin ice with the Higher-Ups with his position being threatened. So he had to sacrifice many hours to put his time and effort into this project. With the event now known as the El-Diver incident, his handling of the problem was brought into question. While it was pardoned thanks to the help of Avalon and such, he was still held at arms length with the Higher-Ups.
Just as when he thought things were finally going back to normal, a strange occurrence was reported. Upon further investigation on the matter, it was realized that the S Class Diver known as Masaki Shido (AKA SID via his operating name) fell into a coma within his terminal and was hospitalized. Imagine his surprise when the administration could not find any record of the Diver logging out meaning that he slipped into a coma while still logged in.
This was of course controversial because if such a phenomenon was a possible outcome in their product then they would have been forced to shut down the network and recall all units. Costing the company billions of dollars which was totally unacceptable to the Higher-Ups. Not only would it have damaged the company's image and credibility but no one would ever buy a product from them as long as they carried that stigma. Naturally this did not sit well with them.
The family of SID agreed to a NDA citing that as long as they would not expose this incident to the public, the company would pay for any and all fees from Sid's time in the hospital with the added clause that any further treatment needed will also be paid for. The family was even given a generous offer of monthly compensation that was sent to the family the first day of each month without trouble. A few months have passed and all official investigations halted as it was concluded that he simply went into a coma and it was just a coincidence it happened while SID was Diving. The entire incident was kept quiet and suppressed from the media.
The doctors concluded that he was perfectly fine and absolutely nothing was wrong in his body but it confounded them that they could not find the reason despite the highly advanced medical technology they possessed. After all it was a bit strange how a healthy young male could just simply slip into a coma all of a sudden. As it turned out though there was an uncle of theirs a few generations before them that fell into a similar coma in his apartment and he passed away never again waking up. Since there was a family history of sorts the case was wrapped up.
The Higher-Ups agreed to continue with the hospitalization fees as well as the compensations fearing that the Shido family would retaliate by releasing a press conference if their company tried to find a way to break out of the NDA. If such a thing was to occur their company would have been ruined beyond repair. What money they lost was barely a drop of water in their reserves so they happily continued on with their lives.
To Katsuragi on the other hand it was unacceptable. He promised that he would to help research this incident however he could in his free time. He would never forget the moment when he had to tell Masaki's parents that they probably would never again see their child "alive" before their time was up. Unfortunately, his predictions came true as they passed away, from old age, just after the investigations were halted. Masaki's only surviving member was his older sister Mizuki who he would contact often to give what reports he could find.
In trying to loosen the tension, the short figure massaged the bridge of his nose to find relief. With Mizuki's permission he had revealed this information to a close friend for his opinion. His friend joked that perhaps Masaki had an "Isekai moment" like in many of the old anime's of the early 21st century and was trapped in the server or perhaps in a Gundam world. He of course scolded his friend before he realized that such a thing could be now be possible even if the chances were small.
After all... if El-Divers could be extracted from the servers... Right now he had a promising lead from an El-Diver (his friend having recommending her) who was helping him investigate the matter. Hopefully this wild goose chase would lead to somewhere. In the meantime, he had a project to complete.
That project being the Gunpla Battle Network - Generation Diver Experience. The GBN-GDE in short. It was something he proposed to the Higher-Ups when he was soothing their temper with him.
In vanilla GBN you can enter a mission that mimicked the conditions of episodes in the Gundam Franchise but the novelty died down fast considering how it was not a challenge to fight a simple Zaku II with the powerful ZGMF-X10A Freedom. No longer was it fun to issue a total beatdown of the Gjallahorn Forces with the mighty White Doll that was the Turn A. There was no appeal to the mode as it was just a glorified side mission that had voice lines from the characters.
There were of course the Divers who would conduct role-playing sessions using those missions but those Divers tended to be the more... hardcore fans whom the general populace would have a hard time getting along with.
With the GDE however, a Diver would be allowed to "enter" a world of their choosing, alone or with their Force, and whatever action they caused would stick, creating new original trajectories from the story with benefits and consequences that would be calculated by the servers super computers. Meaning, a true to the bone, Story RPG Mode that resided in the Gundam Universe. All Divers would be allowed only 2 save data slots as the servers would not be able to handle any more if they intend to release all 4 series. One save data for a singular play-through the other for a Force play-through. The saved data could easily be written over if they did not like how a certain story plot point turned out. With the penalty being that they had to start from the beginning. With the reset being free only once mid game. Once they reached the series's end point they can enter a "New Game +" mode that would give them other benefits.
In theory that meant if someone were to say, kill Amuro Ray in the first episode of the original Gundam anime then it would have irreparably consequences to that Diver's story timeline. Alternatively, what if the Titan's organization was supported by a powerful group of Divers? The Celestial Beings saved by another paramilitary like force during the final episode of the first season resulting in a timeline where A-Laws would be a different type of organization. All these were promised with the idea of the GDE project. An actual interactive RPG mode that gave off genuine reactions of the characters and their surroundings.
Many people involved with the project were excited about that. Some people fantasized about having a debate with a lifelike Char Aznarble regarding the state of humanity. Others can have a chat with the charismatic Orga Itsuka. Realistically however, many of the male Divers would try and woo the hearts of their "Gundam Waifu's". Katsuragi sighed knowing how that would be something every Diver would demand fervently.
All this was possible thanks to the inventor of the "Butterfly Algorithm": Albert Einzberg. Stated by the many people who know him as a frankly odd individual who possessed an unfathomable intelligence in the sciences. Albert was hired by the Higher-Ups as the lead developer of the product's Character OS with Ms. Tori as a consultant. He was offered a lot of money but Einzberg joined when he heard just what we were trying to accomplish and pretty much signed up for practically no money. The day Katsuragi first laid eyes on the man, Einzberg was frothing at the mouth, impatient to get started.
This entire endeavor would not have come this far without this mad man's help as Katsuragi begrudgingly admitted. The man was an insufferable know it all who was rude and paradoxically a joy to be around with. Everyone however agreed that he was perhaps too eccentric. To the point he had a rotating system of assistants would not stay with Albert as long as possible.
The "Butterfly Algorithm" was a complex program that would run several scenarios through their "super computers" and come up with the most suitable reaction. Some people in the office called it the "Zero System" while others called it "Veda". Whatever they wanted to call it, it was a work of miracles. So far the only things they had to worry about was finding the voice actors to give them voice samples. For the ones who have passed away, their voices from the anime plus any side material they appeared in were extrapolated and fed into the algorithm. There were bugs of course but nothing a simple patch couldn't fix.
The first series to be completed was the UC. Right now it was neatly split up into 4 major parts. The One Year War, The Grypts Conflict, The Neo Zeon War and The Axis Drop. Further materials would be released as downloadable content. The current discussion within the Higher-Ups was "Should the DLC should be held as major tournament prizes or exclusive collectors item on a premium Gunpla kit?" It was a short discussion once it was pointed out how much money they would make if it was made into a tournament prize before it was released to the public at a price. Imagine, an exclusive chance for dedicated Divers in experiencing the DLC for the first time before any others. However that meant revamping the tournament environment balance and adding different types of tournament play styles but that was easily solvable with Katsuragi and his team.
Finally after nearly 2 years, this project has passed the 80% completion threshold with only 1 series being left to enter its testing stage. His staff couldn't wait to start the experiments but a problem occurred when they say that they could not pass the more difficult parts of the story. While the researcher may be Divers in their own times, none of them were top tier fighters with the highest rank being a mid tier players. The majority being low tier. Sure it helped to test what would happen if a Diver was to fail tremendously but they needed the data of a top tier Diver. To see if it was a challenge for them or not. After all, the project would not be a success if it was only catered to the low rank Divers. Seeing how they were going nowhere, after an unanimous decision, it was decided that Divers would be selected at random to participate in the beta testing of the GDE.
When Katsuragi's friend heard about it, he uncharacteristically begged if he could join but to his dismay it was out of Katsuragi's hands. Imagine his surprise when someone from his friend's force was selected instead. Truly fate is a fickle mistress.
Right now there were currently 6 different teams working for them. A to F. Their team letter did not correlate the members abilities. The letters served as a different function to test the GDE program. A for Artillery. B for Beams. C for Community. D for Disaster. E for Experts and F for Fighters.
"A" Group consists of 6 Divers of random ranks whose gunplas focused on using artillery shells and used metal bladed weapons. The Divers in this group had to be proficient in using them so that narrowed down the list a bit. They would each enter the 4 series alone.
"B" Group consists of 4 Divers of similar rank whose gunplas heavily relied on beam weaponry and were also proficient in using them. This group too would enter the 4 series by themselves.
"C" Group consists of a temporary higher Mid-Tier Force of 9 Divers and a Mobile Base Carrier with enough support Divers. Their Mobile Base was the LHM-BB01 Minerva Custom Battleship. This group was to test for ship to ship combat scenarios.
"D" Group consists of 2 Top Tier S Rank Divers that were asked to Dive-in with heavily customized gunplas with advanced techniques and kits to be veritable monsters in any deployment on the field. That meant using all the cutting edge tech used in the most powerful Mobile Suits. Psycho-Frames, Bio-Sensors, GN Twin Drives, Phase-Shift Armor, Ahab reactors with Nanolaminate Armor etc whatever was the 2 most monstrous combinations, it was used on their gunplas. This was mainly for players who wanted to have the "Super Prototype Mobile Suit" characters in the story timeline.
"E" Group consists a Force of 4 Divers with a Mobile Base Carrier that used tech based on the series they would be testing in. This group is also called Experts for the vast encyclopedic information the Divers were tasked to study for the series they were beta testing. Unlike "C" Group, their battleship was smaller in size. The smaller than standard Ptolemaios as manned by AI programs with one Diver to serve as the ship's captain in directing the AI. This was for Divers who wanted to really test the lore in the story and see how far they could stretch it in their playthroughs.
The Final "F" Group consists of 6 fighters that are focused on the combat aspect of GBN. They were the "Meta group", a group of Divers who would use the top tier mechanics in defeating their opponents. For the sake of diverse results, they were asked to use different Meta strategies of the past. They would enter as a Raid Force with a special item that recharged their gunplas when they weren't in combat in the story.
Currently the UC project was considered done for now and the team decided to branch out to different series. Choosing the next 3 was a much bigger hassle than he thought. Everyone would argue as to why their chosen series was better and nearly ended in a fist fight. Having enough, Katsuragi made himself, Albert and Ms. Tori randomly draw lots to see which of the 22 Gundam TV anime titles would be worked on next.
Albert pulled out the 00 Series, that one had a lot of people cheer for it. Ms. Tori pulled out the G-Gundam title to the amusement of everyone. Katsuragi picke-
"Sir! There's a problem with the program!" Katsuragi's reminiscing was interrupted by the appearance of one of the developers who was looked quite startled.
"What the matter?" Katsuragi walks over to the developer and both proceed to head to the simulation room the latest series was being tested in.
"We don't know sir. A strange phenomenon is affecting our systems." the developer opens the door to the room they needed to enter and held it open for his superior.
"Is it a bug?" Katsuragi asks, a little worried. He still had the creeps when he thought of the Break Decal Raid Boss Bug.
"No sir... the phenomenon's origins... is from outer space." Closing the door he ushers Katsuragi to the main monitor of the 4th series.
"What?! What systems is it affecting?" Unbelievable. An outer space phenomenon! Of all things. If there was a report of a solar flare then the GBN would have been temporarily suspended until it passed. Seeing how there were no reports of one, Katsuragi was confused.
"An energy pulse from deep space has been detected when it was relatively weak, sir. It barely did anything to our system but it suddenly increased in intensity and is now affecting our instruments." The developer points out to the hologram that displayed the readings of their experiment. "If this continues sir it might cause irreparable harm to all of the progress we have made so far."
Katsuragi upon hearing that brought up the master console to issue an emergency halt to their experiments and to back up all relevant data. "What's your name?"
"Niles Cormick, sir." standing by his superior's side, Niles was doing what he could in backing up the 4th series's data extrapolations.
"Niles, I need you to do a systems check on the 2nd and 4th series. Don't bother with the 3rd as we only reached 4% of its timeline. We could easily redo it from scratch. Send a request to someone nearby to help with the 2nd series since it is much larger than the 4th. If it gets a bit too dicey just take whatever you have and log out. We don't want any complications to occur while we are still linked in." While he personally doubted it, on the off chance Katsuragi was wrong, he did not want his staff as well as himself to end up like poor Masaki.
Acknowledging the order Niles went to work in backing up whatever data he could while Katsuragi darted of to the master control room. Opening up the command prompt, he wrote down a code to issue an error message and forcibly cancel all missions Divers were on currently and log records of every player in game just in case another Masaki incident occurred which he hoped would not happen.
Activating the speakers within the facility Katsuragi proceeds to order commands to his staff. "Attention to all staff and Beta test Divers. Please calmly exit the simulations and log out of the server. I repeat. Attention to all staff and Beta test Divers. Please calmly exit the simulations and log out of the server." He could see many of the beta test Divers immediately logging out while his staff remained to make sure they had all the necessary data with them.
The UC data was fine. Considering how that was going to be their debut product, Katsuragi and his staff kept the most up to date back ups safe in secure device. It was the other 3 he was trying to salvage. The FC series was still in its infant stages so losing its data was inconsequential. The AD series was nearly complete with the only thing left to add was the 10 year after content. Considering how unanticipated it was in correcting the logic code, his staff would mutiny if they had to remake it from scratch. CE on the other hand was complete. Personally, Katsuragi would have just ordered his staff to leave but the Higher-Ups would have fired him and he quite liked his job. At least he'll make sure that the only person who is risking their life is himself.
Katsuragi's avatar glitches indicating a server malfunction. Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he force logs out everyone in the server hoping that was enough time in backing up the data. Conducting a last minute check that all members of his staff as well as all Divers were logged out Katsuragi was startled to see a couple of Divers were still logged in.
Transforming into his more agile form, Katsuragi makes his way towards where the 2 still connected Divers were located to see why they weren't logging out yet. Reaching the foyer of the administration facility he could see that the two of them were attempting to log out from their consoles. Making a diagnostic check, it revealed a bug occurred prior to the evacuation where the Divers gunplas were still being registered as "mid-mission" and were still in operation in their testing series even though they ended the simulation.
"We'll be fine, sir! We'll just be forced logged out anyway!" spoke the brown haired male. He was a member of his friend's force so he would feel terrible if something were to happen to him
"I'll see what I can do to get you out now." Katsuragi bringing up the master console, attempts to cut their signal and log them out that way but to no avail as he was getting a error message, that they were already logged out. That didn't make sense! How could something being registered as both offline and online simultaneously!? Alarmed by that message he snaps his eyes to the 2 people in front of him.
To his right was the brown haired man, Karuna. The male was wearing the signature Avalon uniform. A grey military long tail coat with navy blue as its secondary color with white hard collars. A light blue ascot tie and his hands were wearing white faux leather gloves. Navy blue business trousers with brown hard leather knee high boots. With a spiky mop of brown hair, this is the 2nd Vice Captain of Avalon.
To his left was a middle aged man who was wearing the standard brown attire of the Zeon Ground Forces uniform, collar popped up and open. A simple brown jacket that was zipped and the sleeves cut off at the elbows. An in built belt in the jacket with a custom belt buckle of his Force's insignia. He wore thick leather gloves. Pants were the same shade of khaki brown as his jacket with the standard leather boots that accompany the Zeon uniform. His hair neatly slicked back with a small bit at the front hanging forward. This man is Kurt. A member of the 7th Panzer Division.
During their time in the beta testing the two of them became close friends since they were from rival teams.
Their demeanor was calm since they didn't know what could happen to them if the deep space pulse detected earlier was to hit the system with them still logged in. You add that with an experimental Al algorithm... Katsuragi bet that would be a recipe for disaster and was trying to stay calm while attempting to do everything in his power to let these men out safely.
Karuna curious as to why the Game Master was adamant in getting them out in time asked him as to what was the hurry. Thinking on the spot, the avatar of Katsuragi: The SD Re-Gz Command responded "Well you see, this sort of thing has never happened before. I am just worried that if you guys are forcibly removed while your accounts are still mid-mission, the data linked to your accounts might get corrupted and you have to start all over again with a fresh account and a new Dive Gear."
While Katsuragi still continued with his attempts and Karuna childishly freaking out, the other male frowned when he heard the tone of the Game Master. Kurt could always see the underneath of a message hence why he was unaffected by the admittedly adorable appearance of his force leader. There was something about the Game Master's tone that set the alarms ringing in his head. Seeing how young Karuna was panicking he deemed it unwise to ask Mr Katsuragi as to what he was really worried about.
Karuna tactfully calmed down when he saw the SD figure of the Re-Gz getting more frustrated the more he attempted to do something until he snapped and cursed at the situation. That only caused the alarm bells in Kurt's head go from DEFCON-5 to DEFCON-3. Karuna noticing the 2's behavior was now beginning to get worried.
"Is something wrong, sir?" Kurt stands at attention, his body acting on a reflex like when he is in the presence of his Force Leader.
"No matter what I do, it seems that I cannot log you both out from my console. Whatever bug I try to fix another one pops out in its place." eyes still on his console, Kurt and Karuna could see him typing furiously while maintaining a conversation.
"I don't see what's the problem. Like I said, we'd probably just be logged out anyways." To the young male it seemed like the older males were trying to shield him from the truth which irritated Karuna. He was the Vice-Captain of Avalon. One of the strongest Forces in GBN for crying out loud! He can take it!.
Katsuragi seemingly out of options slowly lets his arms fall to his side. Another problem was now rearing its ugly head. Should he tell the two young men about what he was worried about? He have to ask Ms. Shido and the Higher-Ups for permission. The Re-Gz Admin knew that Ms. Shido would not mind but he was unsure about the Higher-Ups. Surely they would understand considering the situation right? Oh who was he kidding, they'd eat him alive.
Was his job more important or lives of these 2 men?
"There was an incident with a Diver a few months ago. He slipped into a coma while he was still logged in and hasn't woken up since. Ever since then I implemented a force log out master code in case an unforeseen phenomenon such as this might be at risk. I have my suspicions that he may be trapped somewhere in the GBN servers because some sort of malfunction, trapping him in a coma." Katsuragi wanted to be a builder anyway.
"Our technicians have gone over the hardware and software numerous times and assured me that such a case is not possible... It might just be my over active imagination but I'm worried that with a server malfunction this severe, you two might be sent into a coma if it crashed while you were still Dived in. I beg for your forgiveness in putting you in this position." Katsuragi waited for their response to which he expected would be quite heated. Quite oppositely to what he had thought, the two of them weren't as frazzled as he was expecting. The signs were still there but they seemed relatively calm.
"I do not mind, sir. While it is upsetting that I may not possible see my Force again, I lived a fulfilling life. My RL is quite difficult for me but being in a coma isn't the worst thing that can happen to me." letting out his opinion Kurt says his piece. It hurt him that he might never see his friends and his Captain again but he lived a decent life and knew that he had made true friends that shared his passions, his love and his pain.
Karuna on the other hand "Mah~ If that's the case I hope GBN pays my hospital fee haha! I expect a crap ton of compensation as well! Especially Dive Points!"
Warmth. The admin could feel nothing but warmth hearing their responses. He didn't do anything but stare in awe at the 2 Divers in front of him. Normally people would be freaking out or verbally attack him but these 2 were acting brave in spite of the situation before them. Perhaps this is the steel of the veteran Diver?
"I can... I can do nothing but apologize profusely for this... Hopefully this is nothing but just my over-imagination but... once you are logged out then please send a message directly to me so I can have some peace in mind." Through the console, Katsuragi sends the 2 men his personal contact information.
"So what now?" Indeed. What can Katsuragi do now to help ease their fears?
"The least I can do is stay with the 2 of you before the network crashes and sends us out" Kurt and Karuna kept trying to change the mind of the admin but the SD Mobile Suit was adamant with staying with the 2 of them. It was risky but it was his little way of taking responsibility. At least if something happened to them he would be there with the 2 Divers.
The 3 of them sat down and waited till the network crashed and logged them out. Only 2 made it out. In the real world, unlike the case of Masaki Shido, the body of Kurt aka Kashima Ryudoiin was missing.
Edit as of March 16 2020.
I realized there were some grammar inconsistencies and corrected them. If any readers see any others please point them out to me in the reviews.
Someone sent a pm stating that some things didn't make sense like the GM's explanation of his worries to Kurt and Karuna which I realized was true so I added a bit more to that.
Again, if there's anything similar then let me know in the reviews. I'll nip it in the bud now, in Ep.1 of 00 the Exia decapitated the Enact but I purposely didn't add it to hint something about the Butterfly Algorithm capabilities.
Although you don't need to, it would be much appreciated if you could please review or even write saying if you enjoyed so I can gauge how my story is doing and see what I could do to improve my story writing.
Please do not send me any pm's about questions regarding the story. The review section is there for a reason.
Thank you and stay safe.
