Hermione walked alongside the Weasley family and Harry Potter. They were supposed to meet Amos Diggory, a friend of Mr. Weasley's friend from work, and his seventeen year old son, Cedric. Hermione knew he played seeker for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team. None of Gryffindor had really gotten over the loss. Hermione looked at Ron's moody face. No doubt they were remembering the defeat. She knew that he had a grudge against Cedric for it, which she thought was unfair since Cedric had requested a rematch.
"Amos!" Mr. Weasley shouted as a man appeared at the top of the hill.
"Arthur!" Amos Diggory said as he hugged Mr. Weasley.
"Where's Cedric?" Mr. Weasley asked. A charming boy dropped from a tree, landing on the ground in front of Mr. Weasley. Cedric grinned and held his hand out to Mr. Weasley.
"Right here, sir!" Cedric grinned. Cedric shook Mr. Weasley's hand and suddenly wandered over to Hermione, "Your Hermione Granger, right?"
"Y-yeah," Hermione said. Cedric had never talked to her. He was the most popular boy in school. He walked around with his posse and was always followed by girls drooling all over him."I've seen you around school," Cedric said with another charming grin.
"I've -uh- seen you around too," Hermione said, she was sounding like an idiot. A dirty boot sat on top of the hill.
"Is that it?" Hermione asked Cedric. He nodded and took Hermione's hand into his. Hermione glanced at Ron who was looking darkly at Cedric.
"Grab on!" Amos yelled, interrupting Cedric and Hermione's conversation. Cedric and Hermione grabbed onto the boot. Hermione was suddenly spiraled down to Earth and landed on her back. Mr. Weasley, Mr. Diggory, and Cedric walked down to Earth like they traveled by portkey everyday.
"Here," Cedric offered Hermione his hand as he helped her up, "What do you think?"
"Uncomfortable," Hermione responded.
"Not the portkey," Cedric laughed, "that," Hermione looked at the festivities at the other side of the valley.
"Wow," she said.
