Chapter 1:to die or live
Dear diary,
This was my usual routine. Get up and get breakfast ready for everyone. Then there were my chores. I had to sweep up the floor, mop it, and take out the garbage. My life wasn't simple, but nor would yours be if your mother worked all day and I have like 10 other siblings. Don't even ask about my father.
I know what you're thinking right now, 'Why can't I ask you about your father?'
It's not because he was a bad father or anything like that, no. all I really have of him is a picture in a locket the day he died in the war. I hate talking about him because it brings up nothing but regret because I never got to see him again. But that's a matter for another entry. Now if you want a real jerk that would be my uncle he is a cruel man. He trained me to fight since I was very young.
He looked at me like I was nothing more than a weapon. He would beat me into submission, threaten my siblings do about anything to get me to do what he wanted and most of the time. I would until but a month ago my mother found out and got a restraining order against him but my mental scars will take years to go away….and then there were the doctors…..
Anyway, today my friend is coming over for a movie night.
We're watching my absolute favorite show/movies: doctor and some people think its weird, but for me, it got me through life well that and doctor who gotta love those geeky things. It gave me a reason to enjoy life, hope for a better tomorrow.
Like someone once said, 'sacrifice what you need to to bring a better tomorrow'. That's how I live. I sacrifice my time to take care of my siblings. And today I have my own victory. I get to spend my time with my friend in her house for a movie night and I plan to make it the best night ever.
Well, I got to go. Bye diary.
M.B
At Allison's house.
It was a simple day like all life for Marissa. It was no different from any other day really. At least it should not have been. Her watching one of her favorite shows or movies was a great way to pass the time as well as spending the day with her friend, Allison. No, she did not find it boring if you were thinking that.
"What episode are we on?" Allison asked, watching contently from where she lazed on the couch, from her upside-down position.
"Episode 4 season 3," Marissa answered her, ignoring her friend's grumbling. It was a simple question, but she still hated answering them; they were annoying and pointless.
Marissa sighed at the scene were the showgirl was dancing. As the T.V played the scene, weird symbols began flashing across the screen.
Marissa smacked the TV a couple of times. When that did not work, Marissa slightly turned to her friend and asked, "Allison, can you check the breaker box outside? There's obviously something wrong with the TV."
"Oh, alright," said Allison nonchalantly. And then she tilted herself sideways and slowly stood up from the couch to go through the kitchen to exit out the back door. Going towards the left side of the house, she strolled over to the breaker box.
Since Marissa's family had no time to replace the broken lock on it, they had just taped it closed. This would only be until they found the time to replace the lock, of course. Allison peeled off most of the tape to access the power switches.
Marissa let out a sigh of boredom, as she waited for Allison to come back. She really wanted to watch the rest of the episode. There were times where Marissa wished she could actually join the action instead of just watching it much like when she fought her uncle and when she finally was officially never had to see him again.
The symbols on the TV were flashing faster and faster, slightly scaring her. Suddenly, Marissa felt a strange force pulling on her and felt herself being dragged across the floor towards the TV. Marissa panicked and started trying to grab onto anything to stop herself from being sucked in. She wound up knocking over books, drinks, and anything else in the way in the process.
When she neared the TV Marissa gripped the sides of it in an attempt to keep herself from being pulled any further into it. Marissa was about to call out to Allison for help. Before she could, however, one of the living room's books hit her on the back of her head, causing her to lose her grip and be completely pulled into her TV.
The screen blacked out for a couple of seconds before it powered on again, the tv show now playing as it normally would have been. Allison came back into the living room a minute later and gasped in shock. It appeared that Marissa had a crazy party and did not bother cleaning up, but there was no party and, most importantly, there was no Marissa.
-New York -
Ultimate Spiderman
She felt her body seize with pain her heart felt like it was being broken apart and put back together. She opened her eyes.
She wore a kimono that was colored in many colors mainly red and had flowers on it, A blue belt with gold diamonds on it, pale white skin with red lips. Red eyeliner and had small eyebrows that were as black as a raven feather her long straight black hair went to her thighs like an elegant beauty. She had golden eyes and on her head was a crown-like an item connected to flowers and gold painted pins with red stones on each one. She had seen long angelic see-through ribbons around her arms.
Her body laid on the ground, that pain stopping finely.
"Once again the city was put in danger by the menace known as Spider-Man!" a man's voice shouted angrily.
Marissa looked up and saw a giant screen playing a video of a man with an angry face shouting. A picture of a spider-themed hero appeared next to him.
"Spider-Man is nothing but a troublemaker who wreaks havoc all over the city! That's why myself, J. Jonah Jameson, is giving you the facts!" the man shouted.
"Facts my ass," a random passerby said to his friend.
"I know. It's not like he causes trouble on purpose," said the friend.
Marissa took a moment before standing up her body that ached seemed to calm. A pang of hunger sank in her stomach so she walked to the back alley to think and ignore her stomach.
She curled in the side as the sun came down her eyes changing from gold to red as a woman came down. A man followed after her. Before he pointed a gun at her.
"Give me your money." He said holding a cold angry look. The woman looked terrified by this.
"Please, don't hurt me," the woman said as she held out her purse. "Take it. Take whatever you want. Just don't hurt me."
"Much obliged, miss," said the man as he reached for the bag.
"So noisy," Marissa grabbed his arm. Her piercing red eyes stared into his eyes.
"Hey! Let me go, you freak!" he shouted as he tried to pull away.
Her eyes stared deeply into his. Hypnotizing in 30 seconds he could feel his will slip away. "You will leave with me and give the girl her purse back."
The darkness concealing her, almost like a shadow.
"Here you go, miss," he said to the girl he attacked. And then he just walked away.
"Thank you," said the victim. "Who are you?"
"Vampirica." She walked after the man following her when they got into a darker area. Hiding in the shadows and she opened her mouth two fangs sunk into his neck.
"Does my blood please you?" The man asked in his hypnotized state.
"It will do." She said in a simple tone. She slowly came out of her haze when she realized what happened. "Go to the police and admit all your crimes then forget my face."
She wiped the blood off her lips as the man left. What she didn't know was that she was being watched. By more than just one interested party.
-Police station-
The man walked into the police station. "Please arrest me. I tried to steal a woman's purse, robbed a bank, and killed the bank teller."
"Seriously?!" an officer asked.
"Yeah," said the crook.
The officer and a few others grabbed the man and cuffed him. By the time the man snapped back to reality, he was already being moved to the holding cell. He shouted that he did nothing and that he was framed. Unfortunately for him, he was identified by witnesses at the back and the woman he tried to rob, not to mention the bank's security footage.
"What made this guy confess?" Another officer asked. "And what was with those puncture marks on his neck."
"I don't know about the confession. But the guy was screaming about a vampire. Probably ran into another nut," said the first one.
Oh, how wrong they were.
-Two weeks later-
Marissa hummed trying to figure out what to do. She needed someone to explain what was going on so she decided to try and conjure familiar. If that would even work.
She grabbed a jar and made a symbol on the ground. She put catnip powdered garlic Jasmine and a tag on the ground. She shook the jar and chanted. "Earth, water, wind, hear my voice and bond a familiar to my soul."
The jar was engulfed in a green light until it turned into a pure black cat, with ragdoll cat fur and lime green eyes.
'Hello, I'm Dera. You may give my earth name.' The cat said in her head.
"Uh Demon," Marissa said in an unsure tone.
'Very well. I am Demon and I'll explain how to do certain things. Let's start with a house and money.' The cat began by drawing a circle on an old run-down house. 'Say change form to my will and give me prosperity beyond my imagination.'
"Alright change form to my will and give me prosperity beyond my imagination." She chanted magic flowed through the old building changing it into a live-in shop, a very large one.
She and the cat walked into it and it was all dolled up fancy and beautiful with tons of charms, potions, and other things. "Nice." She saw a spellbook and picked it up. "Super nice. Now I need a parent. So, kitty, ready to be a mom."
"Of course," said Demon, sitting in a chair. The cat used her paw to sketch something on a piece of paper. "Believable?"
"Yeah, works. Oh, great spirit hear my voice, and change this cats form to one of my will." The cat changed into a different form. She had long black hair pale skin and wore a black kimono her eyes were green.
"Ok for your human name you'll be Sophia Heart."
"I like that name," said Demon. "I shall enroll you in school while you practice."
"Alright." She went to practice while her 'mother' went to enroll her.
While Marissa looked at her book. A teenage boy with brown hair and green eyes walked into the shop.
"Hi, are you open?" the boy asked.
"We are." Said her fake mother. "Is there something you're after?"
"Do you have anything that could be a good prank on a jerk?" the boy asked.
"This is a magic shop so there is a potion that will cause bad luck for a week." Demon said in a simple tone. "My daughter can make it for you."
"Thanks," said the boy. "This is a pretty nice place. Have you been in business long?"
"Long enough," Marissa said, pulling out the ingredients. She poured different things then chanted something in Latin. "Do you have something he drinks? I only need a label."
"Yeah," said the boy, smirking as he held out a can of a sport's drink. "Flash will never see this coming."
She took it placing it in the pot before a poof went off. "I'm surprised you believe in this though." Marissa pulled out a full can of the sports drink.
"I'm not entirely sure about the magic stuff," the boy admitted. "But I figured it would give that jerk some explosive diarrhea if nothing else. Haha. I'm Peter, by the way. Peter Parker."
"Marissa Alarcard Heart," said Marissa.
"Nice to meet you," said Peter. "I guess I'll be seeing you at school soon?"
"You will." She smiled, he smelt pretty good. It made her want to drink his blood with such a delicious smell. "I hope we see a lot of each other."
"Yeah. Me too," said Peter, and then he left the shop.
As he left, Peter thought back to the girl. 'She's kinda strange. But it doesn't seem like she's dangerous,' he thought. His spider-sense was going off like crazy when he first approached her.
But whatever it was it disappeared once she wasn't around.
-School the next day-
Spiderman pulled out his clothes to get to school. Once he changed and climbed down running to the door. "I won't be late. I'm gonna make it." The door closed in his face.
"Ouch," said a girl's voice. Peter looked to the side window and saw the girl from the shop along with another brunette boy.
"Harry! Hey, Marissa," he said as he went to the window.
"Need help inside." Marissa offered her hand.
"You bet," said Peter as he accepted the hand.
Marissa pulled Peter inside, which resulted in him landing on top of Marissa. Harry laughed a little at the pair, though part of him was a tiny bit jealous. He even took a picture with his phone.
Peter's spidey sense went off again. It even felt harsher than before. What was it about this girl that made his senses go off?
"So, Pete, I'm guessing you and the new girl have already met," said Harry.
"He came to my shop." Marissa put a fan up to her face.
"The one where he went before Flash swiped his Gatorade yesterday?" Harry asked while laughing.
They all heard a crash. "Yes."
"He's been having the worst luck since," Peter said.
[Cut away]
Mini Spider-Man with devil horns laughs at Flash as bad things happen to him.
Real Peter then got off Marissa and helped her up. "Thanks for your help getting in school."
"No problem. And thanks for the 10 dollars for the potion." She smiled with her mouth closed. It was elegant and cute.
Harry laughed and said, "Yeah right. Potion."
She punched him in the arm. "My family is a believer in the mystic arts and God make fun of either, I punch your arm."
"Okay. No judgment," said Harry, rubbing his arm. "Anyway, Pete, I'm glad Marissa and I found you before principal Coulson did. He'd be really ticked if he found out you were late."
"I think I'm more scared of aunt May," said Peter as they walked to class.
Peter was suddenly grabbed by four other teens. Three boys and a girl. Peter protested but they ignored him.
Marissa looked at the four. "That was rude," Marissa said in a cold tone.
"Sorry, new girl, we need Peter right now," said a boy with dark hair and a tan.
"Too bad," Marissa said, staring deeply into his eyes. "Give him back and walk away."
The boy blinked and moved Peter towards Harry and Marissa. And then he walked away in a trance-like state. This left the others confused.
"Any way me and Peter have something to do without you. Bye." She took Peter's arm and walked off with him.
"Wait. What about class?" Peter asked. "Aren't we gonna be late?"
"That's where we are going. Your principal switched you to my class. I have no clue why though." She said with a smile.
Harry and the remaining teens just stared at the scene in disbelief.
"Did Pete just ditch me?" Harry asked.
"More like he got hijacked," said the girl.
"By a smoking hot girl," said the dark-skinned guy.
"And I'm pretty sure Sam went the wrong way for his first class. If he keeps going he'll likely end in-" said the blonde boy. And then he heard a girl screamed and a smack. "The girl's room."
"Let's go get him." The girl said groaning.
-Lunchroom-
Marissa was laughing at Peter's joke when the others came in. They looked pretty annoyed.
"What's wrong?" Marissa asked in a confused tone.
"Can we borrow, Peter a moment? It's kind of important," the girl asked.
And then Sam brought up his phone. "Check this out!"
His phone played a video of Spider-Man in the subway with a hole in the rear end of his costume, revealing a part of his bare butt. Sam laughed so hard at that.
"Isn't that hilarious?!" he asked.
"So you stole me to show me this." He felt the spider-sense going off again. "Ugh, again every single time I'm near her."
"What we wanna know why we're hearing about this from Fury and not you," said the girl.
"And what do you mean again every single time I'm near her." The blonde asked in a concerned tone.
"This girl sets off my spidey sense," said Peter. "Although she doesn't seem dangerous."
They looked at her and saw her looking like she was nervous. She even looked hungry. She was drinking water and nothing else. Before getting up and leaving.
"Somethings definitely not right."
-Outside at school-
Her cat/ mom explained when she was at her home she needed to drink blood once a week. And she hadn't for two weeks.
She had a knife she hid with magic. She held her wrist out. Slicing it blood dripped down her wrist. She stuck her tongue on it. She sucked on it before it healed pretty quickly. She took a breath before cutting her wrist again.
Then Peter came out. His jaw dropped when he saw that. When she saw him she dropped the knife on instinct and covered it with her sleeve. "Ah, hey, Peter." She covered her mouth with her fan. "What are you doing back here?"
"Looking for you…" Peter said in shock. "I was gonna invite you to movie night….. But I see you're busy….. So….. Bye."
"Wait…..what did you see exactly I mean…." She asked, grabbing his hand.
Peter gulped and said, "You drinking blood….. From your wrist."
She frowned at that but she had no choice. "Peter I'm gonna tell you something and if you tell anyone I have to erase your memory and the person you tell. Do you understand?"
Peter gulped before nodding.
"I am a pureblood vampire. I'm not undead. Purebloods aren't dead beings, we're alive but require blood to live. I have been avoiding drinking anyone's blood since my first night." She opened her mouth showing her sharp fangs.
"So….. You're not gonna kill me?" Peter asked.
"Oh geesh why do all humans assume the same thing." She let go she should just erase his memory. "Purebloods were given their power by God or so the legend says. And we don't take human life. Most don't at least those who aren't corrupt we drink blood and save lives breed we're not like the undead vampires. Tell me, Peter, what does the word pure mean."
"Untainted. Last I looked in the dictionary," said Peter.
"Yes, that's the meaning for us though I was turned not born." She shrugged. "Some purebloods are born but a rare few can be turned. Now you said something about a movie?" She decided, for now, to pretend this was nothing. "I mean if you still want me to come."
"Oh! Yeah," said Peter. "Harry has his place to himself tonight, so M.J. and I are going over to watch some movies. I wanted to invite you since you're new and don't have a lot of friends yet."
"But you don't anymore after finding out what I am." She frowned.
"Actually….. After hearing this, I still want you to come if you want," said Peter, smiling.
Her frown turned into a smile. Before she hugged him. "Thank you."
"It's what friends do," said Peter, hugging her back. It was slightly weird.
Marissa came inside with Peter for the next class.
-Hours later-
Marissa and Peter were walking together with Peter's friends. "So you four are you normally around Peter?"
"Since we transferred," said Sam. "Honestly, though, he and I aren't that close."
"We realized today that it might help us bond if we try to get along with Peter's current friends," said Danny.
"That's sweet," Marissa said walking ahead.
"I just hope M.J. was right," said Peter.
He knocked on the door and it opened. However, it was not Harry who answered but Flash Thompson.
"Oh this is strange," Marissa said, looking nervous.
"Flash?!" Peter asked.
"Sup, puny Parker," said Flash.
Marissa punched him so hard he was knocked out. "Let's get inside." She walked over the passed out boy.
Everyone stepped over him and found several other students having a wild party. They were dancing and eating snacks, and even just chatting.
"I'm missing homework for this?" Ava asked.
"This wasn't supposed to be this," said Peter.
Marissa was breathing heavily looking fairly sick.
"Marissa? Are you alright?" Peter asked, supporting her.
"Too many people. God, I need air. I'm so hungry." She looked ready to puke.
"Hey, Pete. Great party, huh?" M.J. asked him. And then noticed Marissa. "What's wrong with her?"
"She really needs air," said Peter as he supported Marissa. "Come on. Let's get you outside. I know where the roof access is."
They both walked to the access was and he and she went upstairs, she took a seat and puked up what little blood she had in her stomach. Panting. "Why were there so many people?" She pulled her arm up and bit down trying to drink what she could but her own blood wasn't helping.
"I'm not sure," said Peter. And then he lifted her head up. "Why don't you drink from me? I can take it."
"No! I won't ever drink blood from anyone again. I'd rather die." She panted faster trying to catch her breath.
"You have to do something. If you don't get some blood, who knows what'll happen?" Peter argued.
"I'll die a very painful death by blood deprivation. My orb will keep draining away the blood until finally my orb stops and then I'll die." She wiped the blood from her mouth.
Peter's eyes went wide with fear. "No! I won't let that happen! I'll get you blood," he told her. "What if I got someone alone? Someone strong?"
"I said I'd rather die and I'm not doing it." Her gold eyes turned red. She held her stomach. Then they heard screaming. "What was that?" She weakly said.
"I don't know," said Peter. "Wait here. I'm gonna check it out."
Hell If she was gonna do that she went over. She ran over. With Peter when a huge black slime came over. Her eyes still pure red and she was still in pain but hell if she didn't.
She attacked the slime pissed off well the other kids ran off. Peter used this as his chance to change into his Spider-Man costume.
She coughed as she pulled at the monster slicing at it with her nails but it began to engulf her. Taking over her sick body.
"Let her go, slimy!" Spider-Man shouted. The creature growled using her body as a host before it grabbed Spidey and tossed him into the ground hard.
It's four huge fangs hung over spidey when a flame shot out of its hand hitting the wall and setting it on fire.
"Thought you could use a hand," said Nova coming in.
"Careful, Nova! Marissa's in there!" Spidey shouted.
Nova ignored him and shot at the creature while flying around and avoiding the flames sent at him. "What's with the fire it's definitely not from-" he was cut off from the goo jumping off of Marissa and onto Nova.
The girl was paler than normal and looked to be in extreme pain. She looked as if she could drop dead any second. Spider-Man held the girl in his arms.
"Marissa, you have to feed," he said. "It's the only way. Take some of my blood."
She curled up before he placed his wrist in her mouth. Her fangs bit down just as the other three came in aka Power Man, White Tiger, and Iron Fist they came to the girl feeding on Spider-Man much to their shock.
"Get off him!" White Tiger shouted, bearing her claws.
"No!" Spider-Man shouted, jumping back. "She's not killing me! She needs it to heal herself!"
"Heal herself? Seriously?" White Tiger asked with doubt.
"Look, I'll explain later. Get out and help Nova. He's the one who's actually in trouble," Spider-Man urgently said.
Her color was returning, her mouth's fangs let go after 30 gulps. "Thank you. Let me help." Marissa said.
"You're still weak," Spider-Man said she gave a look that said it will be ok.
She pulled her fans and started chanting something. Before a whirlwind shifted over the creature and forced the goo off of Nova. "Don't let it get on you. It'll try to control you."
"I got this!" Power Man shouted, ripping the goo residing off of Nova. As soon as he did, though, it went for him.
"Ok I get I'm not the most trusted one here right now but what did I say." She said in a simple tone.
"It was bound to happen," said Spider-Man. "You sure you're okay?" They both jumped back evading the gooed Power Man's attack.
"Fine, not the best time." Power Man slammed down at her Nova was just waking up as Marissa sent at a gust of wind to push him out of the way. "I'm not at full strength but right now-" she got sent through the window. She quickly grabbed a bar of the metal fire escape.
"Remember what she said! Don't let it touch you!" Spider-Man shouted. "Otherwise it'll control you!"
"So how do we beat it?" White Tiger asked.
"I'm not sure." Spidey ran outside and pulled Marissa up.
"Let me try," said Iron Fist. "I can tell it has a life force."
The one controlling Power Man, it charged outwards towards where Spider-Man and Marissa were. Marissa grabbed Spidey's hand and picked him up before jumping upwards so high she reached the roof. "I got an idea how to deal with it but it will require a lot of sounds and what about to do will drain a huge amount of my blood. I will pass out."
The others came flying and climbing up as the two avoided the creature.
"Then you can have some of ours," said Spider-Man.
Marissa didn't look as if she agreed or disagreed. Right now she was evading the strikes coming at her. " void sound hope love blood oh human form shed thy.."
Spiderman grabbed a claw coming at her. "Keep going. " White Tiger grabbed his arm.
"Shed thy skin and show my true form." Her body was slowly engulfed in light like a cocoon and four pure raven black bird-like wings appeared on her back she became older. She took to the sky and made what looked like a barrier around it. "Now I need you to make the loudest ringing sound within the barrier. And plug your ears."
"Right!" Nova shouted.
Spider-Man made a ringing sound with his phone casting the creature to screech pushing itself off of power man.
With each second the amplified ringing. Made the creature crawl through the first hole it could.
Once she was sure it was gone she made the barrier disappear. And Marissa changed back to normal before falling and landing on the rooftop.
"Marissa!" Spider-Man said, catching her. "Hang in there. You can take some of my blood."
"And mine," Iron Fist offered.
"Mine too," said White Tiger.
"That's sweet but I'm just incredibly tired. I need to sleep." She closed her eyes and fell asleep.
"Guess I better take her home," said Spider-Man.
"I can help with that," said a woman's voice. And there was Marissa's 'mother'.
A light appeared from the sky as Nick Fury jumped down. "Not so fast."
She hissed as she bared her claws. "You will not keep me from my lady."
"Your lady?" Nova asked. "I saw you bring her to school. I thought you were her mother."
"This is my disguise," she said, and then transformed into her cat form. But more a demonic version. "I am really Demon, Marissa's familiar. Her mother I have zero clue where she is but not the point."
She felt a shot a sleeping dart hit its shoulder. " you think your pathetic drugs gonna work on me? I may not be her mother but I consider her as my own daughter since I am hers."
"Leave them alone, Fury! She helped us!" Spider-Man pleaded.
"Spider-Man this is a serious situation. I know you don't understand but she needs to come with us." Nick Fury said in a serious tone. A few agents pointed their guns at the cat demon.
Another human came down and tackled Fury before knocking him back. This woman had long black hair and golden eyes as she quickly attacked Fury the cat was being shot with several tranquilizers.
Two others grabbed her from Spider-Man. And fury took her to the hellacarrer.
"Who the heck is she?" Nova asked.
The woman looked at Spider-Man and said, "Thanks for looking after my girl, Spider-Man."
She turned and glared at fury. "My name is Tempest. Maria. Tempest and you will give her back or I will find a way to make your life hell you have 24 hours." She made a portal and disappeared.
"Wait. Did we just meet Marissa's real mom?" Spider-Man asked.
"Yes, we just did." Said Power Man.
hellacarrer
Spider-Man put his hand on Fury's desk. "Where is she!"
"She's in a safe location," Fury answered. "And don't you raise your voice at me."
"Fury, with all due respect, I think we are all entitled to a full story," said Iron Fist.
"Yeah. She saved everyone from that Venom thing," said White Tiger.
"And what's with that mom of hers?" Nova asked. "What is her problem?"
"She's a supernatural expert that used to work with S.H.I.E.L.D. until her daughter was turned. When we found out we were worried about her daughter as an active threat or someone using her as a weapon. Of course, she was angry when she heard us locking her up and thought we were just looking to experiment on her but in actuality, we're looking for a cure….now her mother hates us and so she's willing to do anything to keep S.H.I.E.L.D away from her."
"Even destroy anyone connected to them, I'm guessing," said Peter.
"I can understand her anger with it and maybe our method is harsh. But right now she could be a threat. And we're not willing to risk the world's safety." Fury explained in a calm tone.
"But she's not dangerous," said Spider-Man. "She only needs to feed once a week. And even then, the one she's feeding on isn't in danger."
"And her abilities they're not dangerous. She has a huge amount of energy, she could easily kill someone or turn someone." Fury looked at Spider-Man with a serious look. But sighed. "You can see her if you want."
"Thanks, Fury," said Spider-Man.
-Holding area-
Marissa was sitting in a bed quietly as if deciding rather to escape. That was when the door opened and Spider-Man entered.
"Marissa! You're okay!" he said, rushing to her.
"Yes, I'm fine." Marissa smiled sweetly.
"Fury says he's looking for a way to make you human again," said Spider-Man.
"Now that's not possible no offense to him but my heart is an orb. He's insane if he thinks he can make me human." Marissa placed her hand on her cheek. "Besides I won't be here long enough for him to try."
"Because of your mom?" Spider-Man asked.
"Huh? Mom no I can get out of here myself." Marissa shrugged.
"Really?" Spider-Man asked. "Why?"
"Why? I wake up in a cell and you think I wanna stay here?" Marissa gave him a sad look.
"Well, it's not like Fury's hurting you," said Spider-Man.
"Are you actually suggesting I should stay cooped up in a cell?" Marissa glared. She looked pissed off.
Spider-Man held up his hands in defense and said, "No! That's not what I meant! It's just-he wants to help you. I don't want him assuming you're a threat."
"I have done nothing but help and I won't be imprisoned because he's afraid of me for no reason." She made a circle in the air creating a portal. "And you can tell him that." She walked through before disappearing.
"Wait! Marissa!" Spider-Man shouted, but it was too late. He let out a sad sigh and left the room.
