Clayton and Becky tried to have a relationship, but once Clayton left the company in May of 2018, after just six months the two of them split with the distance and conflicting schedules not allowing them to spend any time together. For the next two years, Clayton had been doing his best to try to find a way back to a top spot in wrestling. And now he finally had the chance as Impact! Wrestling wanted to bring him in as a tag partner of the Impact Heavyweight Champion, Tessa Blanchard, who had been a good friend of Clayton since he was a teenager, much like his and Charlotte's relationship, minus the dating. She stood up from her chair and walked up to him before she slapped him. "That's for Charlotte." she said as she sat back down and laced her other boot. "Yeah, I guess I had that coming. But listen, I'd appreciate it if we could not talk about her, and focus on our angle and how we can help each other achieve better success." Clayton said as he edged closer to Tessa. "We're fine, I just wish you wouldn't have done that to Charlotte. So what are you feeling for tonight?" Tessa finished up as Clayton smiled, and they began to talk spending the next two hours discussing plans. As the show began to go live for the first time in nearly a decade, it drew closer to the main event. Tessa was going to do battle against longtime rival Sami Callihan. The match went on for about twenty minutes as the conclusion came in with Ethan Page running interference and assaulting Tessa Blanchard costing Sami the match but the two of them began a brutal beatdown of the champ. When all of a sudden the lights dimmed and on the titantron appeared a graphic of a heart on fire, that slowly turned to a diamond as Clayton Hart made his way to the ring for a huge save. He started clearing house with an attack made up of punches. First he went after Callihan as he lit him up with a wide array of rights and lefts, knocking him out of the ring. Next he focused on Mr. Ego and started to show him he meant business. After getting the upper hand he hit Page with a devastating piledriver, and then kicked him out of the ring. He then checked on Tessa, he helped her up. And the crowd was going crazy, Hart was pretty popular and so was Blanchard and the two of them together were a definite dream team. Clayton grabbed a mic and began to speak. "Hey, i'm not sure how it works around here, but if i just got my ass kicked by one man, i'd want a little revenge. So next week, we're gonna have a lil tag team match." Clayton finished as the crowd exploded with excitement. As the show came to a close./span/span/p

"I think you did good out there, how many shows has Scott got you here for?" Tessa asked as she placed her bag in the trunk. "I'm only working next week's show to bring in a little bit of a ratings increase, after that I'll be back working on the indies, trying to prove myself." Hart grinned as he placed his bag in the trunk and closed it. "Well, my contract is up in several weeks, and I'm thinking about not resigning if you wanted to take this tag team to the next level. But that's only if we are a hit next week." Tessa responded as she punched Clayton in the shoulder playfully. "I'd absolutely love that. And maybe we can show the world why we are two of the best in the business today." Hart finished as Tessa's eyes grew big. "Yeah, that sounds great, listen I forgot to mention that I invited someone to ride with us." Tessa finished as Hart turned around to see Jordynne Grace approach the car. "Hey Tessa. How are you?" Jordynne asked as she hugged Tessa. "I'm good, and I would like you to meet and old friend of mine, Mr. Clayton Hart." Tessa introduced the two as they shook hands and smiled at each other. "It's a pleasure to meet you and I'm sure we will be able to get to know each other when we get going because I have a show in Cleveland in two days and we're currently in Vegas." Clayton said as he held the door open for both ladies. "Well, I like the way you think, a long car ride, and two strangers with one person as the middleman, what could go wrong." Jordynne said as she got into the car followed by Tessa.
