Hey guys, this is Stormknight089 here, and this is a new story me and my friend Nightfly are working on, i promised i would make another story with another author, well here it is.
so this chapter is written by Nightfly123, with some of my editing at the end, i hope y'all like it and enjoy it.
Prologue:
It is a sunny day in the kingdom of King Eduardo, where everyone is living in peaceful times. It is a beautiful time of great prosperity, the lives of the ordinary people are going well as they begin to do their usual daily activities of things like attending market day. The families are happy together, both spending time as their children played.
While the peasants were having a joyful time, a male Spix Macaw is currently wing-wrestling. He is doing it with a fellow male Spix Macaw, both men are trying their best to win against the other with both of their respective sons cheering them as they fought hard. The struggle kept ongoing, where the wing-wresting contest got more competitive.
One of the participates is known as Sir Arnulf, who is a well-beloved Knight in the kingdom. He has fought in many battles for his King, winning many of those battles through sheer determination as well as strategy that often resulted in many victories for his men. He also has a son called Gabriel, who has wanted to be just as strong as his father.
His opponent in the contest is called Sir David, who is also a well-beloved Knight in the land. He has fought side-by-side with Sir Arnulf, the two often worked together in order to bring victory to their King as well as to try to protect their respective wonderful families. He has a son called Blu, who has come with his mother to watch the contest itself.
The struggle still continued for the two Knights, who eventually managed to end the contest. It resulted in Sir Arnulf taking the victory, where he jumped for joy with Sir David left rubbing the back of his own neck in disbelief of how he possibly could of lost that contest. The nearby crowds cheered, along with Gabriel as he hugged his loving father.
"You did it dad!, you won!, you won!" cheered Gabriel as he shared a hug with Sir Arnulf. "I knew that you could do it, all you needed to do was just have some practice".
"Yes you did son, thanks for training me" said Sir Arnulf as he looked at his son with a smile. "Besides, I never could have done it without you my son, I definitely owe you".
While they were busy enjoying the victory, Sir David was still in a state of absolute shock. He couldn't believe what had happened, he had been training himself for this moment only to find out that he has been bested by one of his own best friends in the competition. He was comforted by his own son, who is so proud of his own father.
After celebrating his win with his own son, Sir Arnulf saw that Sir David is feeling down. He walked over to his former opponent, where he held out a wing for a wing-shake to show that they had a good, fair, wing-wrestle match together as he smiled at his friend. The latter managed to smile back, before slowly shaking his wing out of appreciation.
"You did well, David, you should be proud" said Sir Arnulf as he shook wings with David. "You have put up a good struggle, who knows, we might just have a rematch".
"I am definitely looking forward to that" said Sir David as he let go of his friend's wing. "Besides, how are you and your wife?, I heard that she is busy treating the Queen".
"Yep, it appears that Queen had fell ill" said Sir Arnulf as he sighed out of deep worry. "I'm worried though, even if she does recover, it could be a bad sign of future events".
"Don't worry, she is really good at it" said Sir David as he comforted his worried friend. "I am familiar with it, heck, even my father had to receive the treatment to cure him".
That 'treatment' is known as blood-letting, where blood is removed to heal the patient. It is a well-known medical practice, although there are a number of people who are very wary of the dangers of that the practice could hold for both themselves and their families. Despite the dangers however, they allow their relatives to have this treatment.
Unfortunely most people see it as a bad thing, mostly because it had led to many deaths. They all remembered Queen Lucy, the mother of King Eduardo, who was murdered by the prioress after the latter had deliberately bled her to death in revenge against her son. She had been in ailing health, though she was helped by her ladies-in-waiting.
The murder shook the whole kingdom to it's core, especially when the peasants were scared. The murder angered Eduardo, who sent soldiers to capture the Prioress who was sentenced to death by being trapped in an Oubliette, a prison in the shape of a wine bottle. She was lowered in by rope, before the hatch was firmly shut above her own head.
The hatch was the only way out of this terrifying prison, which seemed to affect the Prioress. She was suffering from Starvation, while also going mad from being in such a quite small space as she tried to climb her way out of the oubliette many times before she eventually died. Her body was removed, before being cremated out in the clearing.
The death of the treacherous Prioress sent shockwaves, throughout the entire kingdom itself. Nobody thought he was going do it, not a single person thought that Eduardo is going to both capture and sentence the murderess except it has actually happened for real. It had sent a clear message, that death is what awaits all cold-blooded criminals.
It worked as criminals became deeply scared of Eduardo, who gained a fearsome reputation. It became clear to all of his enemies, that this is a King who will show no mercy to criminals that dare attack his people and his family as he began to capture some criminals. Despite his reputation, he had managed to create a few dangerous enemies.
One of those enemies is the Dragon Clan, a tribe of warriors that uses dark powers from an unknown source of origin, their leader is a ferocious and ruthless leader who is part dragon, part bird.
The two powers clash in a never ending bloodshed for the past 12 years, many lives were lost during the war, some of them disappeared without a single trace to been, King Eduardo was one of the few that had gone missing.
With the Kingdom hanging in by a thread, the Queen had no choice but to take charge of her homeland, the people panicked, some of them rebelled, however though, there is still hope, Worlds of both light and dark will unite to defeat the evil.
Not a bad way to start off a story, that's all for now, have a good day and Godbless you all
