Disclaimer: I don;t own Milo Murphy's Law, I'm just waiting for season 3 to happen.

Amanda quickly made her way to the art room after school. It was almost time for the Spring Festival, and to the surprise of absolutely no one she had volenteered to head up the Art Committee to make the banner and decorations. She was never late and had no intention of starting now. She only stopped near the entrance to check the sign-up sheet posted and to her secret delight found that Milo had signed up. She found herself blushing at that and quickly looked around, thankful no one was there to see it.

Ever since they had been on Cake 'Splosion she felt herself thinking more and more about Milo. Sure he was always a nice guy and she had never hated talking to him, but she had always been rather nervous around him due to his Murphy's Law. He always meant well, but her love of order and her OCD caused her to be wary around him whenever the chaos that came with his condition acted up. But when he had saved the School Dance she was in charge of she started to realise there was a lot more to him than she had thought. True, Murphy's Law did tend to act up in unpredictable ways, and the chaos was bound to come either way. But Milo not only was able to predict it, he was super prepared for it. He managed to fix any chaos that came his way, and he could make it better than ever! And after they were paired up on Cake 'Splosion and she worked closely with him, she truly saw that not only was he super prepared and almost as organized as she was, he was genuinely nice, sweet, thoughtful, and funny! She openly enjoyed the time she spent with him, and didn;t even care if they lost because he made the event so much fun! Of course winning anyway was the icing on the cake, and now she found herself thinking of more and more excuses to spend more time with him...and thinking of him in other ways when she was alone! She had made herself their Band Manager, she found herself walking home with him and his friends, she even waited for him after class to walk with him. The more she did, the more she liked him. Now to her joy he was on the Committee and they could spend even more time together.

Of course it's not like they would be alone together, a number of people would be there too. People she knew sometimes stared at her and Milo when they walked together. She could almost hear them thinking, 'Amanda Lopez with Milo MURPHY?! Huh?' But they didn't know what she knew! True, she was a perfectionist to the extreme while he was a carrier of Murphy's Law, but that's not ALL they were. She knew Milo saw more to her...and now she could see more to him.

As soon as she reached the door she peeked in through the window...and to her surprise and secret joy she saw Milo in there by himself, sitting at a table obviously working hard on something. She felt her heart flip-flop in her chest! It actually felt like it was turning cartwheels inside and she had to take deep breaths to control it. To think, it was Milo sitting there- just Milo Murphy- that was causing her heart to act like this! But she was also glad Milo was alone. She wanted to talk to him about a few things and would have rather said what she had to say when they were alone.

Smiling, she opened the door quietly and walked over to him. "Hi, Milo!"

Milo looked up and smiled. "Hi, Amanda!" He pulled the chair out for her. She slid into it.

"You're here early for the meeting."

"Yeah, I wanted to get here ahead of time so I could make this get-well card for Melissa."

'Oh, how is she?"

"I just talked to her Dad on the phone a few minutes ago to tell him I was gonna drop off her homework. She's feeling better, her fever's gone down. But she still has to stay in bed. Hopefully this card will cheer her up." Amanda had to smile. That was Milo all over, kind, sweet and always thinking of others. "Ya wanna sign the card?" Milo asked, holding out a pen.

"Sure," Amanda took it, their fingers briefly touching as she took it from him. She felt warm all over and she looked at Milo and smiled. Milo smiled back and Amanda felt herself looking into his light brown eyes. 'He's so handsome!' she thought, surprised that she had never fully appreciated him before. She looked down and signed 'Get well soon! We miss you!- Amanda' She gave the pen back to Milo. "It's a beautiful card, Milo. Melissa's really going to like it." She smiled at him and he smiled back. She felt her heart beat even louder in her body. It was happening, she was alone with Milo, she couldn't blow this. Usually Milo was surrounded by Zack and Melissa, and while she liked them both very much she had a lot to say to Milo, and she would have preferred to say them in private. "Milo?" she asked. "May I talk to you for a moment?"

"Sure, Amanda," he put the card to the side and looked at her. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong," she assured him. "But, I just want to...talk."

"Sure. About what?"

"Well, there's some things I wanted to tell you."

"OK.

"Before anything..." she stood up and began to pace around nervously before turning around. "I need to ask for your forgiveness."

"Forgiveness? For what?"

"For the way I used to act," Amanda began. "All these years when I purposefully stayed away from you, due to Murphy's Law. I know I wasn't the nicest person in the whole world to you," she looked down. "I know I wouldn't partner up with you in projects, and I told you to stay away from everything during the school dance when you were only trying to help me," she looked at him. "I'm ashamed of that now. I never meant to exclude you, Milo. And I never meant to sound mean or hurtful. It was my OCD and my perfectionism. I never noticed until recently how much you always try to help me, and how nice you always are to me. I am truly sorry for everything I've done before. You're not dangerous, you're so nice and kind and thoughtful. I know that now."

"Amanda, you don;t have to apologise to me for anything," Milo said, getting up and coming over to her, putting his hand on her shoulder. "I understand why you felt like you did, I wasn't offended at all."

Amanda turned toward him. "I still should never have said the things that I said. You had every right to be at the dance, and you helped me out more times than I could count. It was just my Cuban Stubbonness and my perfectionism that got in my way. I'm sorry that I told you to stay away from everything during the School Dance. I realize now how prepared you are, and how much I do like having you around. I hope you can forgive me."

"Amanda, there's nothing to forgive!" Milo pulled her into a hug. "I understand why you felt that way, believe me I never blamed you, and you never hurt me. I just tried to help as much as I could."

"I know, and I see that now," she hugged him back and pulled gentily away, looking into his light brown eyes. "I don't know if I really said this...but thank you, Milo. Thank you for saving the opera, and thank you for saving the school dance. I meant what I said to Lydia. You were my hero that night," she looked down. "Milo...I have another confession to make."

"What is it, Amanda?"

"Well, when I made myself your Band Manger, I did it because...well...I wanted to spend more time with you," she looked up. "But I didn't know how you would react."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that...I've avoided you for so long, due to Murphy's Law. I ducked under the desk so I wouldn't be chosen as your partner...I'm so sorry I did that...I told that substitute teacher to take three steps back when she called you up..."

"Well, you were right about that."

"And I went out of my way to avoid you for so long. I didn't know how to just suddenly tell you...I just wanted to hang out with you. I...I want to spend more time with you. And I didn't know how to say that around Melissa and Zack either...so that's why I made myself your Manager."

Milo had to laugh at that and hugged Amanda again. "Aw, Amanda...all you had to do was ask!"

"Would it be OK with Melissa and Zack if I were to join you?"

"Of course it would be! They like you, Amanda. You're always welcome."

Amanda hugged him gentily, "Thank you, Milo."

"Don't feel bad about anything. Amanda. I understand, I really do. And anytime you wanna hang out with us...well...just hang out! Melissa and Zack like you, just come!"

Amanda smiled and hugged Milo even tighter, "Thank you, Milo." She pulled away and gazed at him.

Now their faces were so close that Amanda felt herself drowning in Milo's eyes. Her heartbeat was by now going so fast she felt he must be able to hear it! Milo tenderly brushed Amanda's hair off of her shoulder and left his hand there. She felt her arms circle around his neck and almost without warning her face drew closer to his, and his also came closer.

Ay Dios Mio! This was it! At last! Her deep fantasies were coming true! Oh her heart, was she actually going to experience her first kiss? Here? Now? She raised her face to his and closed her eyes ...and were interrupted by the door opening and the rest of the volenteers streaming inside. Quickly they broke apart and came over to the table.

"Hey, guys!" Zack said. "Is that card for Melissa?"

"Yep," Milo said.

"How's she feeling?"

"The fever's gone down, but she still has to stay in bed. Wanna sign the card?"

"Sure," Zack took the pen and signed.

Bradley then entered, and his face twisted into his all-too-familiar grimice. "Oh, Milo's here, for joy for joy." Amanda had to resist the urge to bat him away.

She gazed at Milo, who was taking the card and folding it neatly. He turned and smiled at Amanda, who smiled back, while trying to control her heartbeat. "We were going to kiss!" she thought to herself. "I know he was going to kiss me!" But she quickly put that thought out of her head. After all, now was not the time! They had a project to plan. She and everyone else put on their aprons and she quickly cleared her throat.
