Saku: Long time no see, here's a story that me and Haru came up a long time ago with but with different characters. I'm writing it in SasuSaku version. Hope you enjoy.
(As for my other fics, I'm stuck on them but I have all of this one written and I'm determined not to leave you guys hanging. Hopefully I'll post another update within a day or two.)

…..
It had been over a year since that fateful day, the leaf village lost its orange hokage. Since that dreadful event that came out of nowhere and shocked everyone to their very core. It wasn't even that complicated of a mission, but it severely concerned the village's safety, so Naruto went with Sasuke despite the raven haired nin's disagreement. He was right, had the blonde not gone with him, he wouldn't have gotten poisoned along with Sasuke whose years spent with Orochimaru had made him immune to poisons. Sasuke wouldn't have had to protect the blonde as well as fight the reinforcements therefore not reaching help in time.
Naruto had died that day.
With Naruto's death there came a need for a new hokage and the previous two hokages' student and apprentice, Haruno Sakura was chosen as the next hokage, filling the seat of her very best friend. She had been doing a fine job, the people already loved her due to her reputation as a medic. She was beauty with brains. Many wanted her but they all knew who her heart belonged to, who it always belonged to, the Hokage's shadow otherwise known as Uchiha Sasuke.
Sasuke had continued to work as hokage's shadow now working for his former teammate. Him and Sakura had gotten close ever since his return. They had always met up whenever he came back form his missions. Everyone knew they were in love with each other, but they refused to make it official. When Naruto died, they had comforted each other and secretly cried in each other's arms. They got lost in time with responsibilities after Sakura became the hokage. Even though Sakura was still the person he saw the most, Sasuke barely spent any time in the village anymore going on one dangerous mission after the other.
Then one fateful night three months ago, after a mission having very similar conditions to the one which he lost his best friend in, Sasuke had found himself drunk in the arms of the pinkette. The two had shared a heated passionate night but when Sakura woke up the next morning, he was gone along with the mission scroll he had originally planned to see her for. They never talked about that night and only continued with their routine of strictly business.
Just as usual, Sasuke made his way to the hokage's office. He had been on a two weeklong S-rank mission. He was heavily exhausted and wounded, he had a gash on his stomach that refused to stop bleeding even though he had wrapped it in bandages. He was wearing a cloak so he knew Sakura couldn't see it. No matter how straight faced of a hokage she had become, she could not hide her worry whenever she saw him injured. He knew he should go to the hospital, but he never liked those places and it was also near 1am at night. He just wanted to hand in his report and go to bed and not think about anything. Of course, the handing in the report part was the most difficult of all as he would be coming face to face with the very person he does not want to think about.
Slowly knocking twice on the door, the sound of 'come in' is heard. It was late but he knew she would be working till this hour; she had a habit of doing that. He enters the room and is faced by a desk that has so many papers, he can barely make out the top of her head from behind it. Little did he know, he was not the only one trying to avoid thinking about a specific someone.
"Mission successful." He says.
"You smell like blood." She replied to which he resisted the urge to groan. He had forgotten how good of a nose she has.
"It's not mine." He half lied as he does have other rogue blood on him as well.
She sighs and stands up. "Show me." She referred to the wound she knew he had.
"I can go to the hospital for that."
"Fine then I guess I'll go with you then. I seem to be out of asprin and would like to pick some on my way back." She said and he watched her take off her hokage cloak and set it on the chair before she walked toward him. "Let's go?"
"….. I'm not going to the hospital." He looked to the side like a stubborn child.
"Why so?" She tilts her head slightly to the side making her mid back length hair sway a bit.
"I don't like the smell…" He murmurs.
"Then how about my place?" His head snaps to her face which is expressionless.
"Don't worry, I have my medic supplies at home that I can take care of that with." Her emphasis on the 'that' made him look towards where she was pointing. It seems the blood had seeped through his cloak.
"Tch, whatever." She walked past him towards the door with a triumphant smile.
"wait." He stopped her and when she turned, he wordlessly stepped close to her and put his arms around her making her heart skip a beat. She felt a strange kind of pull that made her close her eyes and when she opened them back, they were in front of the gate to her apartment. Sasuke stepped back immediately and Sakura let out a breath she did not realize she was holding. She noticed him take an extra step back probably due to his exhaustion. She sighed.
"Your body is already low on chakra-…. you know what, let's just get inside and deal with this." She gave up knowing her lecturing him is only a waste of time.
Sakura unlocked the door and they went inside after taking off their shoes to her small yet spacious one-bedroom apartment. She had this apartment since before she became hokage and hadn't wanted to move even though she was offered a bigger place to live in. 'Why give yourself more room to wander in alone.' she had said.
She told him to wait while she grabs her medic kit from her bedroom. He took a seat at the three-person couch, something she had bought for their movie nights they sometimes used to do when Naruto was alive. Sasuke hadn't been on this seat in a long time and he couldn't help but run his hand over the surface where his best friend used to sit, his mind recalling memories of the past that should be happy but are painful for him to even think about. The laughter of his knucklehead friend resonated in his mind and how he will never hear it again and made him stand up just as Sakura had returned.
"I need a shower first." He said abruptly.
"You need to get that wound stitched up first."
"I can deal with it later." She had huffed and stomped to stand infront of him opening her mouth to say something but decided to sigh instead.
"Bathroom's that way…" She pointed and he followed the direction.
She had followed him into the bathroom and was watching him as he took his cloak off. She held back the gasp at wound as he took off his shirt and unwrapped his bandages.
She moved her eyes to the floor as he took off his pants not bothering to care that she was standing there. He needed to clear his head and showers usually did that for him. He turned on the shower and stood under it not even waiting for the water to get hot.
Sakura watched as blood kept gathering at his feet. It seemed his wound was being just as stubborn as him and not closing.
"A-At least, let me close it up for a bit with chakra!" She stuttered and raised her eyes straight up from his feet to his face avoiding anything in between. He had a drunken expression on his face and didn't respond which she took as a 'do whatever you want' and walked towards him seeming as he didn't want to get out from under the water or at least cover his 'parts'.
She stood at the edge of the shower stall glad that she wore a sleeveless long red shirt with white shorts. The design was very similar to what she used to wear in her genin days but this one highlighted her curves more. She reached her bare arms forward and pressed her hands to his chest. She couldn't directly place them on the wound as looking down there would expose her eyes to other things as well. Sure, she had seen him naked before, but it was only once, and it was three months ago. Aside from that, she was too shy. She had a habit of becoming like that when it came to him. Although she had managed to control it somewhat, he could still easily make her heart race with one single glance.
Suddenly her heart decided to run for a marathon as he placed his hands on her and slid them across his skin to where the wound was. Sakura quickly regained her senses and brought chakra to them. A sigh reaching her ears from him as she used what was left of her chakra to heal his wound.
Her hands lingered for just a bit longer than needed before she fully pulled away. Only she now had severely low chakra and, in her effort to quickly step back from him, she got dizzy and fell backwards.
The last thing she felt was his hands on her forearms pulling her towards him under the shower so that she doesn't fall back and crack her head open, before she lost consciousness.
