The Jinchuriki Hero-1

It was a rainy early evening for the R-Rated Heroine Midnight. She had just gotten done with writing up her report of the day with how many crimes she stopped, as well as handed in a new design for her new hero costume.

'Stupid new laws about hero costumes. It's not my fault my Quirk requires my skin to be visible and unrestrained.' She thought holding her umbrella over her head as she was making her way down the street. She stopped walking when she heard the sound of a baby crying coming down the alleyway she was passing. 'A baby?' She thought, carefully looking into the alley, before walking slowly into it, the sound of the infant crying growing ever louder. "Hold on, little one. I'm on my way." Midnight said picking up the pace, only to slow down when she came across a box sitting beside a dumpster. It was the source of the noise. 'Could it be a trap?' She questioned before noticing the lid of the box slightly twitching, as if something inside was hitting it every so often.

Midnight quickly removed the lid of the box, keeping her umbrella over her and the cardboard, gasping when she saw it was indeed an infant swaddled in a cloth tufts of crimson red hair on its head and three whisker markings on each of its cheeks.

"Oh, shush now come here." Midnight said, in a calming tone, but was failing to hide her concern. "It's all right now little one, you're safe now. I'm here, I am here." She said, rocking him in her arms calming his down as she examined him. 'It looks like the umbilical cord had just been cut, but as far as I can tell, I don't see any visible injuries on the child. Still I should get it to a hospital just in case.' She thought to herself, while unknowingly, leaving the eyes that had witnessed her rescue the infant.

'An' so it begins.' The strange villain thought with a smile, the eyes disappearing into the shadows.

~Sometime Later at the Nearest Hospital~

Midnight sighed as she sat in the waiting room of the hospital, it had been nearly three hours since she brought the infant in to be checked out. She had requested a DNA test be done to see who the infant's parents were, with today's technology she was told it would take a few hours.

"Nemuri Kayama?" A doctor asked walking up to her.

"Yes that's me. How is the child?" She asked standing up.

"He's fine. He's got no injuries or illnesses, he was fed twice now. You were right to bring him here though, as he's barely seven hours old." The doctor said.

"Oh thank goodness." Midnight sighed.

"Though it's a bit strange." The doctor said.

"What is?" Midnight asked, her heart leaping into her throat.

"He's already developed a Quirk, it's a mutation type, but it's helped us identify who his parents were." The doctor said.

"Were?" Midnight questioned.

"His father was Boruto Uzumaki, hero name: Shining Knight. An' his mother was Sumire Kakei Uzumaki." The doctor explained looking over the papers in his file. "The medical reports say that Sumire passed on in childbirth, and that someone had kidnapped the child. As for his father, it's unclear as to where he is."

"He's not around." Midnight said, bowing her head. "He died on a job he and I did together about three months ago when I was still his sidekick."

"I'm sorry to hear that." The doctor said. "It seems as though, the child inherited his Grandfather's Quirk, known as Nine-Tailed Fox. Do you know if the child has any other family?"

"Boruto has a sister, Himawari, but she moved to the US after Naruto, the hero known as Kurama passed away." Midnight said.

"I see. His grandmother I doubt is in any condition to take care of him, so that doesn't really leave us with much choice but to send him off to an orphanage." The doctor sighed.

"Can… can I go and see him?" Midnight asked.

"Of course." The doctor said.

Midnight followed the doctor to the nursery, and spotted the child right away since he was the only one in there with crimson red hair. Now that she knew who the child's father was, she could see the resemblance the child shared with his father. The reason he had died was because she failed to do her part in the mission in properly subduing the villains, and that memory has haunted her since that day. Now knowing that she had a chance to make it up to him, she wasn't about to let it pass through her fingers.

"Doctor." Midnight said, as he began to walk away.

"Yes?"

Midnight turned to him, a determined gaze in her eyes as she looked into his.

"Where do I sign for the adoption papers?" Midnight questioned.
