Prologue
´It's too hot!´
´No it´s not,´ Neito Monoma insisted, turning the stove back to full heat.
Superhero studies included chemistry. Few students liked the subject because they had to solve difficult formulas and were not allowed to use their quirks.
Neito Monoma was currently working with Yosetsu Awase. They had to separate two ingredients. Monoma and Awase tried to separate the blood that Monoma had dropped from his hand into a few drops of water. Nobody else would surely come up with blood, was Monoman's brilliant idea.
´Look now, nothing stands out,´ Awase remarked, ´Shit. I don´t wanna get a fail again. Wait, let's add some more blood.´
He took a clean syringe, put it in his hand, sucked the blood into the syringe, and then dropped it into the beaker. Its contents immediately turned red.
´Hah, my blood is stronger than yours!´ Awase laughed. ´Maybe it's because of my attachment quirk.´
´Damn, that doesn't matter one bit,´ Monoma said.
´Bring the separated liquid here in a closed cabinet when you are ready,´ chemistry teacher, Ectoplasm, recalled, ´they will be destroyed safely, as long as I have completed the evaluation.´
Class 3B began finishing their tests and cleaning up their desks. Many were in a hurry for lunch. Monoma left the bottle onto the shelf and left.
After lunch, class 3A started their chemistry lesson. They were steaming various liquids. Everyone had to wear goggles.
´Do we have to use this?´ Kaminari wondered and pointed at the red liquid on the supply shelf. It had the letters MA on it.
´Didn't Ektoplasm say that the red liquid is tomato juice?´ his partner Deku remembered. ´Let's take it.´
They started steaming "tomato juice".
´A terrible stench,´ Kaminari remarked. For some reason, the smell spread all over the class. Everyone started coughing.
´Shut it down!´ Ectoplasm yelled.
Deku and Kaminari took the liquid they used to the waste shelf and started over.
´I'll definitely get a bad grade on chemistry,´ Kaminari complained. ´Fortunately, chemistry is not terribly needed for field work.´
´Well, it might be important´, Deku pointed out.
´Our abilities are decisive, not grades,´ Kaminari declared.
´Personality matters even more,´ Jiro said behind them, ´if you ever want a girlfriend.´
´Phah,´ Kaminari snarled, ´you can't catch up villains with a pretty smile. I will be the best user of electrical quirk in the world!´
