Hey everyone! So, I wrote this thing during the quarantine, because I'm bored, and I kind of ran into writer's block with my on-going stories, but! Do not fret, they will return…once I have ideas for them. This was just to keep the writer juices flowing during these trying times, and also, give you all some entertainment!
Don't read into this one-shot too much, I like both series, but I am not fully aware of every nook (I worked an Animal Crossing reference into this) and cranny of these franchises. This was just written to have a bit of fun while I'm trapped inside from Work and that stinkin' virus. Now, turn your brain off for a few minutes, and read! Hope you enjoy!

Charlie paced back and forth in silence in the silent steel briefing room, her arms folded tightly behind her back, until she unclasped them to wipe a few drops of sweat from her brow. Her mind ran a thousand miles a minute. Did she pick the right suit? Did she write her letter formal enough? Was this legend even real to begin with? She stopped in place, and looked up at one of the large concrete walls with the UAC logo strewn across it. Her father told her about these Humans…in a less than favorable light, but, with him and her mother gone, there was no one else to turn to to help her clean up her mistake.
This time, she messed up, and she messed up bad.
Vaggie gritted her teeth, wearing her usual casual white dress, and stomped a foot into the concrete floor in annoyance. They had been here for hours, with no answers whatsoever. With a mutter of angry Spanish, she turned to the female UAC Spokesperson and barked "Is this thing even coming? We've been here for what feels like forever. If you can't help us, just say so, because we can't afford to waste any more time."
"W-well," The woman's voice cracked from the demon's anger, "We haven't seen him in years, to be frank, since the last invasion attempt…" She clutched a notebook and her keycard tightly in her right hand, staring at the mechanized double doors in front of the three of them. "He has a habit of just…showing up and disappearing…A-a few more minutes, is all I ask of your time. This is a very important occurrence…"
"I-it's okay, Vaggie," Charlie softly said, turning to the other Demon with a soft smile. "I'm sure it's just busy doing whatever…it's kind does…"
The Hispanic demon groaned, leaning against the wall in annoyance. She loved her, but damn, if her optimism didn't get on her nerves sometimes. She didn't even know if this thing was real in the first place or not. What did she even have to go by? Old folk stories to make the kiddie demons go back to their caves at night? That wasn't viable proof! However, she stuck out the time, only sighing her frustration off and smiling softly. "…Okay. I trust you."
The Spokesperson sighed in relief at the sight of the demon calming herself down, letting her eyes fluttered back closed. The Mortally-Challenged were always a tough bunch to deal with, but the longer she could keep them distracted the better. "He's coming. I hope, at least…"
He angrily stepped onto the UAC Elevator and flipped the switch with a gloved hand. As the door shut slowly with a mechanical hum, he cracked his knuckles against the palms of his hands, and stretched his neck to both sides.
"Something doesn't feel right about all this." Dr. Hayden spoke into his ear. "We stopped the invasion numerous times, and not to mention, you've trespassed, and shattered hundreds of millions of dollars worth of UAC technology and materials. Why on Earth would they issue a distress signal to your ship, of all places?"
He had a point, as he silently agreed with the doctor. Something about this was fishy. He grit his teeth, clenching his fists tightly in a thought of rage…if they were using Argent energy to harness another portal to the depths of Hell, he swore on Daisy's name that he would burn this whole facility to the ground, and smash all of their technology with his bare hands.
Hayden noticed his rage. "Before you make any rash decisions, calm down. We have no idea what they could want. Although the…probability of it being negative news is very high, that wouldn't excuse going on a rage-filled rampage."
Like hell it doesn't.
The elevator started upward with a hard ca-chunk. Against his judgement, he attempted to calm himself, closing his eyes with his fists tightly balled. He still didn't like this all, something about this made his blood boil, but, if it was to help humans, he had to, at the very least, hear what they had to say. But if given half the chance? He would send these worshipers to a shallow grave. There was no place on Earth for Hell worshipers.
"Elevator approaching, briefing room. One passenger on board."
Charlie's eyes perked at the sound of the AI over the room's speakers, looking up at the double doors with a bright smile. "Is that it? Is it coming?"
The Spokesperson could only swallow a large wad down her throat in slight worry. "I-its possible. But, be warned, he's…a different breed. No sudden moves, no quick lunges…you do not want him to see you as a threat right out of the gate."
Charlie excitedly clutched Vaggie in both arms, hugging her tightly. "Do you know what this means, Vaggie? It means we might have a chance to undo this! All of it!"
She was caught off guard by the sudden hug,a blush crawling across her grey cheeks, but she smiled, slowly rubbing the Princess's back. "Yeah…I guess…that is if it agrees in the first place."
"It will." She uncurled her hands, with a wide happy-go-lucky smile. "All I have to do is win It over with a happy spirit and charm that only the Princess of Hell can offer!" With a happy yelp, she quickly pressed out her suit with her hands, and giddily ran in front of the doors with a cutesy grin. "I hope I look okay!~"
Vaggie's demeanor changed as she watched Charlie run excitedly to the doors, and before she could even try to stop her with an extended hand, she was already out of her reach. "C-Charlie, I think you should-"
The elevator door made a hard noise from behind the steel, and the AI spoke again through the speakers. "Elevator has arrived. Welcome to the UAC Tactical Briefing room."
And slowly the doors roared open. Charlie kept her hands clasped together politely, eager to meet the supposed savior of both of their worlds, but, her demeanor changed once she met face to face with the legend itself. It was tall, almost towering over her, and extremely burly, covered from head to toe in a dim green and brown armor, complete with a helmet lined with a deep blue visor with no eyes shown underneath. With hard stomps, it slowly stepped off of the elevator, staring down at the small demon through its helmet. If she had a soul, she could swear it were being cut in half by its eyes.
They were in the face of a Legend. They were in the face of the Doom Slayer.
"U-uhm…" Charlie stuttered, "H-hello, u-uhm…Mister…Doom Slayer...?" She struggled to find the words, sweat dripping down her brow profusely, "M-my name is C-Charlotte Magne, a-and I am the Princess of H-"
Before she could finish, the Slayer tightly wrapped a hand around her throat, squeezing tightly. The Princess struggled to get the breath, trying frantically to pull herself away from the Soldier's grip with her hands. With a loud gasp, The Spokesperson and Vaggie quickly ran to Charlie's aid, slamming their fists against the Soldier's gauntlet in desperation.
"Mister Slayer, w-wait a second!" The woman tried to get the man to listen to reason, "She's the one that summoned you here! She was the one who requested your services…!"
Vaggie, in a fit of rage, tried her best to use her fighting skills on the Slayer, but her feeble punches and kicks didn't even make the man flinch. Even a prompted crotch shot made her fist hurt more than the armored man. He never wavered, only increasing his grip around Charlie's throat. The light was quickly fading from the Princess's eyes the tighter he choked, and Vaggie tried everything in her power to get him to set her free.
The sight of not one, but two Demons on Earth had driven him mad. Not only that, but one was the Princess of their filthy breeding ground. He could end this right here and right now. He could only hear the words repeated over and over in his memory…
Rip…and…tear…rip…and…tear…RIP…and…TEAR. UNTIL IT IS DONE.
"Hold it, Slayer." Hayden spoke in his ear, "We've both been to Hell. I think we can both see that this one is new. Something about this one is…different. Let her speak. We could use her."
Come to think of it, she did have a rather cutesy demeanor compared to the millions he's slaughtered. She also didn't have any weapons, no mini guns, no lost souls to throw, no claws, no horns, barely any fangs. He could feel her losing life in his grip, if he wanted to, he could rip her small head off and smash it into his boot, but…something compelled him not to. It was a weird feeling for him.
She almost reminded him of Daisy…in a hellish way. Fuck. With an angry eye roll, he threw the vermin to the ground, clenching his fist tightly. He never had to resist the urge to kill a Demon before. Whatever this filth wanted, it had better be good.
Charlie gasped for air once she hit the concrete, coughing as she attempted to gather her composure. Vaggie rushed to her aid, quickly crouching beside her and taking her by her hand. She then gritted her teeth at the sign of her love in pain, her eyes lighting up fire red in anger as she roared up at the Slayer. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!"
The human Spokesperson quickly intervened, getting in between the pair of Demons and the Slayer. "I-I apologize for her bluntness, Slayer. W-where are my m-manners?" She cleared her throat, "Slayer, Vagatha and Charlotte. Charlotte and Vagatha, Slayer. It would be in our best interest to g-get down to b-business, I'm afraid Earth doesn't have much time to-"
The Slayer, of course, didn't care, silently shrugging past the woman slowly and going to one of the many seats in the room. He sat slowly, keeping a close eye on the two Demons who clutched each other on the floor. He cracked his knuckles, the joints of his fingers making a loud crunch that echoed through the entire room.
As the Princess caught her breath, she slowly rose to her feet, dusting herself off. "C-charmed...! Ow…"
"Charlie, what the hell?" Vaggie whispered into her ear, "You could have totally went full Demon and wiped the floor with that asshole. Why didn't you?"
"B-because, you heard the stories..." She softly retorted, "It…he…only hunts demons with black hearts. Being nice is the only way we'll hopefully stay on his good side. Please, Vaggie, this is so important to me. We have to fix this mess…just, please try to be nice…"
"…Fine," She reluctantly agreed. "But, next time he tries some edgy shit like that again, I'm gonna kill him."
"Our Mortally Challenged friends here have informed us of a coming threat, Slayer." The woman spoke, pacing in front of a hologram with her hands together. "An uprising. The coming of biblical proportions that make our previous encounters with the forces from Hell seem like child's play. I'll let the Princess explain."
She cleared her throat, softly rubbing the bruises around her neck, before speaking to directly to the Slayer in a frantic manner. "L-let me begin by saying those previous invasions were not triggered by my family…my parents tried strenuously to stop the uprise-"
The Slayer slammed his fist hard into a steel table, creating a deep crevasse into the palate.
"O-okay, get to the point, a-alright…uhm…" Charlie cleared her throat, before gaining her composure back. "Unlike most Demons, I was actually born in Hell…and as I grew, I-I attempted to see the good in all of Hell's citizens. I'm…sure you're aware of the purge that happens every year down there…considering…you were probably the cause of a few of them…b-but that's okay! N-not really…" She laughed nervously, trying to crack a joke to make the Slayer at least chuckle.
He wasn't amused, boredly leaning against his fist.
"O-okay…uhm, So…I tried to open a hotel to try rehabilitate the Demons and make them better citizens! However,I ran into a bit of a snag when I got this guy involved…" The princess then pointed to a hologram of a slender Demon using a microphone as a cane. "This is Alastor. He's one of the most cruel Demons in Hell, and he gets enjoyment out of inflicting pain on others. He's got crazy powers. Once he got into my hotel, he quickly took over, i-inviting some of the worst criminals and Demonic Overlords in the Underworld to visit right underneath my nose. They overthrew my parents, a-and…"
"They're gonna try to resurrect the Icon of Sin." Vaggie continued, her arms folded tightly. "They've already got a pathway to Earth, and they're on their way as we speak. Which is why we came to you, oh great, masked jacka-" She was promptly met with a hand over her mouth by Charlie, interrupting her sentence with loud nervous cackles.
"What she MEANT to say was, we need your help to close the gateway and stop them…preferably…peacefully…? Pretty please…?"
"This is serious business, Slayer. We could be looking at an apocalyptic event. I know it's usually against your code to help the Mortally Challenged, but these two are striving for the benefit of both worlds." The Spokesperson added. "Alastor is a completely different monster, one that we cannot allow to breach. We need your help."
The Slayer silently pushed away from the table, and stretched, and like a Titan, slowly turned with heavy steps and began to walk for the exit.
"…Soooooo…was that a yes…?" The Princess confusedly gawked. "You'll stop them without hurting them…?"
The Doom Slayer paused in his stride, and slowly reached for the Shotgun holstered on his back. For the first time in their meeting, Charlie could see the slight glisten of the Slayer's eye as he turned to face them, filled with rage and the information he had just heard. With a hard flick of his wrist, he loudly racked the gun, sending a shivering chill down both Demon's spines, but neither contested him. Just as he entered, he left like a specter, silently stepping back onto the elevator and flipping the switch to exit. As the steel doors slowly shut, Charlie swallowed a wad of saliva loudly.
"…I think I just messed up again…"
