Lois Lane is in New York covering the John Calvet rape investigation, she was happy that Perry had recommended this story to her. Frankly, Lois had been getting bored with the Superman/Lex Luthor stuff and was in need of a change. Truthfully, that wasn't Lois' only motivation to get out of Metropolis for a while.
Batman had been killed by Livewire and Killer Croc and Wonder Woman got pregnant by Superman before marrying him.
They had both invited Lois to the wedding, but the reporter turned their invite down, which no doubt hurt their feelings.
Now, here she was in the City That Never Sleeps about to do the biggest story of her career.
"Excuse me, but can I help you?" a tall brunette woman asks Lois in a soft voice, Lois nearly jumped out of her skin. Lois turns around and faces the woman that had spoken.
"Uh yes, my name is Lois Lane and I am looking for Detective Olivia Benson."
"At your service Miss Lane, what can I-?" Olivia said, but her words died in her throat as Calvet was brought out by Elliot and Fin. Calvet locked eyes with Olivia, sending a chill down her spine.
"Are you all right, Detective?" Lois asked, gently touching Olivia's right shoulder.
Olivia says nothing, she just nods.
"Detective Benson, would you mind sitting down to do an interview with me?"
Lois asked somewhat nervously.
"For the case, Miss Lane?" Liv asked.
"N-not exactly, it's just...I'm admittedly a fangirl of yours Detective." Lois said blushing faintly before continuing.
"I've followed your entire career from Metropolis and though I'm surrounded by the likes of Superman and Lex Luthor on a daily basis, I've always dreamed of writing about you." Lois says.
This time it was Olivia's turn to blush.
"You make me sound like a celebrity or something, Miss Lane." Olivia says, smiling for the first time since meeting Lois.
Lois took a step into Olivia's personal space, purposely pressing her body against Olivia's.
"Everyone deserves to be appreciated, Olivia." Lois whispers into Liv's right ear, causing Olivia to close her eyes.
Lois slips a card into Olivia's left hand.
"This is the address and room number of the hotel I'll be staying at, you know... if you happen to change your mind." Lois says suggestively.
Olivia couldn't take much more of Lois whispering in her ear like this, but she wasn't going to dare tell Lois to stop.
"Ahem, uh Liv, Cragen wants us back at the house." Elliot says suddenly, bringing Olivia out of her daydream.
"Huh? O-OK, l-let's get going." she stammers quickly before shooting Lois an apologetic look and a blush, Lois returns Olivia's smile and gives her an understanding nod.
The feelings of joy and happiness that had surfaced in the short time Olivia had been in Lois Lane's presence soon gave way to feelings of anger and resentment towards Elliot Stabler and Liv showed her disdain for her partner by keeping silent the whole ride back to the one six.
