Number Eight never sought use into her power for it drained too much energy. Surprisingly, stopping time doesn't come in handy as you'd think. Sure, she could save an extra thirty minutes for herself each morning before it feels like she's only slept for two hours. It could be very helpful if she could actually use it for a decent about of time. On her first mission, she realized catching bullets were really hot, like really hot. So, now every time, no matter what, she carried a black cloth with her.

She called herself 'Elizabeth', but sometimes went by 'Eight'. Her nickname 'E' given to her by Ben and then soon carried around throughout the house, except for her mother who thought Elizabeth was way "lovelier" and her "dad", who always called her by her label. Elizabeth was used to being called Eight when she was out on missions with her siblings, and during training.

Eight pick up the pace

Eight you're doing it wrong

Eight I'm in charge

Eight stop doing that

After a while, she got used to it. They all did. Elizabeth decided she needed to fill the holes her father created. She became the new caretaker. Her mother was still there but she was always happy to help, almost to the point of replacing her own mother. She was always there to take care of them when they got injured of when a fight between then got out of hand; she was always there to stop it. After years of making herself have an 'older sister' completion, her siblings always obeyed when she gave a certain look a mother would give. Elizabeth lost her youth, growing away from her bond that was once there with her siblings.

Vanya and Elizabeth were unsepretable. While Vanya practiced her violin, Elizabeth would always be in the same room doing some mindless task while enjoying her music. Vanya loved the company.

Allison and Elizabeth always had dress up parties growing up. Doing each other makeup and running around the house showing the boys. They did this until Allison discovered her love for Luther. It was this moment Elizabeth realized she wasn't permanent.

Diego and Elizabeth played video games together. They had an ongoing competition with each other for years with all of the wins and losses written down: Diego 54 Elizabeth 49

Luther and Elizabeth weren't the closest but sometimes you could catch then making stupid dares with each other which may or may not have led Elizabeth to get a broken finger. She'd never admit to it, cast or not.

Klaus and Elizabeth were best friends. Nothing more to say. He was one of the only people in this house that she could trust, not with her life but with any secret. He knew everything about her.

Five and Elizabeth were barely even siblings. Always a competition on who could be better. Their powers very similar made them think it was always who was better. They despised each other.

Elizabeth was very close to Ben. Ben liked Elizabeth and Elizabeth liked Ben. El (Ben's nickname for Elizabeth) always loved to do her homework with Ben and Ben loved to do it with her too because he loved the fact that he was with her. They were destined to have a future...as so they thought.

It was Elizabeth's duty to keep her siblings safe, so when Five left the dinner table that day, she did too.

Elizabeth wasn't listening to the conversation Five was having with their father but she knew Five shouldn't have left. 'I want to time travel' was the last thing she could make out.

"Five!" Elizabeth called out. She stood up from the table, her chair flying out behind her.

"Eight!" Mr. Reginald roared. Elizabeth glared her piercing blue eyes and ran. As she basically flew outside the door, she stopped the chaos surrounding her with only a simple snap. This wasn't the first time that's he had to find and locate her siblings. Usually, it was easy, but with Five it was more of a challenge. She saw him just a block away with blue radiating him. She knew she needed to get to him and hold on. Running while using her power was not recommended but she had no choice. Once she wrapped her arms around his neck she felt like collapsing. Time began and Five yelled.

"Elizabeth, go away!" He complained.

"No Five, you need to come home now." She huffed while brushing her blonde hair from her now sweaty forehead.

"Give it a break Eight!" He growled. "Stop trying to be the hero. You're weak and you know it."

"Maybe you should stop acting like you're better than me!" She retorted as Five struggled to get the girl off of his back. Elizabeth began to stop time as a self-defense mechanism while Five tried to teleport. That was the moment everything changed. Five went to the future while Eight went to the past.

Salem Massachusetts 1699

All eyes focused on the curly-headed girl who just magically appeared out of thin air.

"That girl is possessed by Lucifer himself," a man shouted. "Come with me to be reborn Christian again and remove your sins. Admit you are a witch to be saved!"

"I- what are you talking about?" Elizabeth asked.

"Confess your sins or be hanged!" A woman yelped.

What sins? Elizabeth thought.

Elizabeth couldn't comprehend what was happening. Honestly, if you were there, you too would think it was a convention or a staged play. Salem, Massachusetts in 1699 was not the best place to be when you were accused of being a witch. Elizabeth Hargreeves was being accused and almost executed if it wasn't for a young man starting to catch the eye of the town's people.

"Aye, she does not carry the sins of the devil himself for she is an angel sent from above," the brown-headed boy said. "Come with me to find your way back to the heavens!" He then winked. Elizabeth threw away all instincts and followed him to the back of a merchant store.

"I am not an angel nor am I a bloody witch!" Elizabeth snapped.

"I'm not an idiot," the boy said. "You're the idiot who time-traveled to the Salem Witch Trials. Do you have a death wish?"

Elizabeth was thrown back.

"Time travel? Why am I in 1699?"

The boy gave a confused look "You never done this before?"

"If I've done this before wouldn't you think I'd choose a different time!" Elizabeth yelled.

"I'm Alexander by the way." The tan boy said.

"I never asked."

"Look," Alexander pouted. "Just tell me the year you're from and I'll take you back."

Elizabeth squinted her eyes, observing the modern boy from head to toe. "Where are you from first?" She asked, "I need to know before I can trust you."

"How do I know I can't trust you?" He retorted.

Elizabeth pushed the dirt-covered boy into the back of the buildings. "Because you could be insane and get me hanged." She hissed.

Alexander's heart was beating fast. "Fine," he said as he slowly removed Elizabeth's elbow away from his chest. "I'm from 2034, and it's shit because you know, the apocalypse."

Elizabeth almost dropped to her knees. Apocalypse? There can't be- no...

"W- what do you mean 'apocalypse'?" She stuttered. Elizabeth began to feel light-headed.

"I thought you were from the future like me!"

"Do you think I'd be having a fucking panic attack if I already knew of the damn apocalypse!" Elizabeth cried out "I'm from 2002, you- you." Elizabeth choked on her sobs, unable to finish her sentence.

"Wait," Alexander said. "You're Elizabeth Hargreeves, the daughter of Reginald Hargreeves. You were apart of the Umbrella Academy?"

"Yeah," Elizabeth sighed. "That's me."

"Elizabeth, come stay with me until I can send you back and I'll tell you more about how to stop the apocalypse," Alexander offered. "Okay?"

Elizabeth nodded her head, too broken to even speak. She couldn't tell if she was more upset or furious. Sad that the apocalypse was happening soon and she can't be there for her siblings or furious at herself for trying to save Five. If it wasn't for him she'd still be there. Now she's 300 years away from her family and can't even trust the only chance of hope left. Broken and lost wasn't even close to describing it, but it was close and close is close enough.
