Love Nest

Endeavor emerged from his shower in just a clean set of boxer briefs. The mammoth of a man didn't fit into the average hotel bathrobe, not unless he wanted to barely tie the arms around his waist and give his company a show. It wasn't that the sandy blonde wouldn't clap his hands at the sight and demand an encore, Endeavor just didn't want to accidentally singe or tear said robe, let alone request one for a man of his stature and another with slits for wings.

There could be no trace of their presence if they intended to keep up this exhausting routine. Hawks and he would rent rooms from various hotels in Shizuoka each time the redhead texted to request a hookup. The pair had to check for singes in the headboard, on the sheets, stray feathers. Every. Damn. Time. And, in all honesty. "I'm getting tired of all this." He mused at the younger hero, who was still patting his wings dry.

A fluffy, blonde eyebrow quirked up. "You and me?" A cocky smile spread across kiss-bruised lips. "All that cuddling certainly had me fooled."

"That was not 'cuddling'." Red eyebrows threatened to flare. "You collapsed on top of me and I didn't want to push you off and risk spilling evidence on the sheets."

"Mn, is that your reasoning?" Hawks smirked, easily able to recall how the muscular arms felt around his lower back, keeping him in place as he regained his breath. The hold was overall awkward, but entirely endearing. Looking back on the recent memory caused his feathers to ruffle a little.

"Regardless, I don't 'cuddle'. And no, I'm talking about accommodations. We've had a few close calls with hotel staff and the prices of these rooms are high." He grumbled. "Especially with the room service you demand."

"So what now, big guy? Love hotel? My place?" Hawks knew the answer to his next quandary, but said it anyway. "Yours?"

"No." The older man barked, approaching the smug brat where he sat atop the crumpled sheets. "I was looking into expanding the agency to include an outpost in Osaka"

"That's right between Fukuoka and Shizuoka." The blonde mused. "Well, close enough to the midpoint," he shrugged.

"Yes, it is." Endeavor left that hanging in the air.

Both fluffy brows rose this time. "You would have to meet me halfway, at that 'outpost'. No more 'me taking a five hour train ride for a booty call'." Hawks reminded his temperamental lover, flying up to drape his arms around the strong shoulders and press their chests together. His wings were wet and weird to fly with, but he couldn't resist the warm, muscular perch.

"It takes too long for you to get here and detracts from your work. Doing this will divide the time between us, eliminate last minute calls to hotels, and cut down on food spending. Overall, it seems a wise investment."

"An outpost, huh? Are we gonna 'operate' out of a run down old building?" Hawks asked coyly, licking his lips. Not like they hadn't before, when Endeavor didn't feel he was worth the hot shower afterward. Things had certainly changed over the past few months. He was worthy of room service, pay per view, and top floor suites. The winged hero had even gotten accustomed to spending the nights with his lover, provided neither had early patrols the next day.

"People could see us come and go too easily if the outpost's entrance was on a street. I was thinking of a condo. Still a lot of foot traffic, but much lower odds of pesky reporters. Instead, we just need to concern ourselves with the neighbors on our floor. Their habits will likely be easy to memorize and work around. You could use the roof access or a balcony and I can take the stairs to avoid elevator confrontations."

"You're serious?" Hawks sounded bewildered, he was bewildered. He'd never had this kind of effort put into what they still dared to call 'casual sex'. Either his romantic interest was getting more attached or... what else was there? This wasn't a small purchase, it was a long term investment on their continued relationship. Then again, the man had bought a second house for his remaining family, maybe this was a hobby for him? Or perhaps it would be an actual outpost they'd use after hours.

"I've already found a few listings, would you like to look at them as well? I won't base the decision solely off of its proximity to a good yakitori restaurant though." The bird was too food driven, Osaka would suit him.

"Whaaaaat? That's the only reason to buy a joint." Hawks faked whining against the bare chest, smiling as he was walked to the bed while dangling from the sturdy neck. Then a set of large, hot hands grabbed his waist and guided him to sit down. "I'll take a look once I dry these off, mnkay?" He stroked a section of his wings with the fluffy towel until.

"I'll take care of that. Just look at the places." Offering a phone pre-loaded with tabs of condos, the redhead took the towel from Hawks and started patting the wings dry for him, warming them in his hands as he worked.

The ash blonde nearly melted under the unusually tender touch. "You've never-"

"Don't start expecting this. I just want to decide on a place before you get yourself worked up again." He replied bluntly, large fingers slipping between the feathers to aid the drying process. The touch was a stark contrast to those from earlier. Warm, gentle, and comforting as opposed to hot, harsh, and intense. He'd take the latter anyday, of course, but this resonated differently. A 'good' differently.

"Mmm, how can I not though. You look so tasty after a shower. Plus, I get this special treatment?" The bird cooed.

"I don't look any different after a shower, I use my quirk to dry off immediately." Endeavor remarked, finding the statement ridiculous.

"You look different." Hawks murmured, ruffling his feathers a little more as he savored the after-care.

Endeavor didn't ask for him to expand.

"Like hell this was an 'outpost'," Hawks thought to himself while wandering around the place Endeavor had bought. The younger had snuck through a window using his feather as a lock pick, curious what the other pro hero had left to do. His lover said that he was making slight adjustments, but these were renovations. A new countertop, ceiling mounted speakers and television, remote controlled blinds, and there, by the large floor to ceiling window in the bedroom, was proof that this would never be meant for anybody but them.

His one, snarky request that the brick of a man didn't recognize as sarcasm.

A giant bird's nest bed, complete with large, egg shaped pillows.

He almost didn't want to lay down in it without his... boyfriend? They certainly weren't just fuck buddies now, this was a love nest if he'd ever seen one. Complete with a nest!

Hawks almost wanted to call the man, send a pic of the place and offer they break some stuff in. But he couldn't. Now that he knew the place was like this, a personal getaway for 'them', whatever 'them' was now, he kinda wanted to leave. Being here was like sneaking a peak at a birthday gift weeks before the party.

It's easy for him to act surprised when he sees the place weeks later. There's a lot to be surprised by. A red, feather chandelier hanging over a dark, wooden dining table. The large, comfy looking sectional that would be perfect for napping, cuddling, and lazing around. A basket full of blankets to use during said couch related activities. He did always ask for extra blankets at hotels, mainly to bug the older man. And then the bathroom.

Not only was there an enormous rain shower head, like the one he raved about at one of the hotels, but Endeavor got him a body dryer! The same brand and model he had at his own place! Hawks did despise wet wings, they both did.

And in the bedroom, the nest was still there, now with a deep blue, heated blanket resting in a basket beside it. Pulling his lover over, Hawks plopped down amongst the soft eggs before requesting the man follow suit.

"This... I feel ridiculous." Endeavor murmured once he'd found a somewhat comfortable position atop the eggs

"I love it, Enji." He said the redhead's first name, aloud and directed at him, for the first time ever. He expected bristling, annoyance, a pointed glare. But nothing aside from a barely visible twitch in his furrowed brow.

"Good, this thing was difficult to track down." Enji huffed.

"Hey, thanks for the love nest." Keigo murmured.

"This isn't-" he doesn't have a chance to finish the half-assed rebuttal, the bird pressing their lips together before shifting to straddle his waist. The blonde still expects to be pushed away, to be set straight, but then those warm hands hold the small of his back just right, hot lips returning the kiss with a matching, if not surpassing, amount of vigor, and those little worries melt away for good.
