Little project I'm working on...
"What the actual heck?"
Here I sat, looking at my comrades that is Team RWBY. Currently they were arguing about how to kill a squad of Footmen, which is basically zombieified soldiers.
"It's very easy! You simply pick them off one by one!" Said Ruby Rose, the team leader of RWBY. She was the youngest of the group, surprisingly, at 15 years old. Her weapon Crescent Rose, a mechanized scythe-turn-sniper rifle, sat on a box next to her. "Obviously you take out the leader first, then the squad will scatter."
"But they're a hive mind!" Yang Xiao Long responded, the brawler of RWBY and older sister of Ruby. She's the hotheaded one, which fits her brawler role and makes her a force to be reckoned with (but a pain in the neck afterwards, not gonna lie). Her weapon Ember Celica, shotgun gauntlets, rests on her wrists in their bracelet form. "It's better if you take 'em all at once. Preferably with a big BOOM!" She mimed an explosion with her arms.
"Why are we talking about this again?" Asked a confused Blake Belladonna, the ninja cat girl of RWBY. Blake is the stealthy one, thanks to being in the White Fang (oop, was I supposed to say that?). She was sitting on a crate, watching how things are going down while also fiddling with her weapon Gambol Shroud, a katana-turn-pistol. "Both of you are technically right, since they aren't that powerful."
The arguing sisters turned to the only member of the group that wasn't talking. Namely, Weiss Schnee. The rich girl and the graceful fencer of RWBY. Fun fact, she's the heiress of a very rich mining company on Remnant called the Schnee Dust Company. She put her hands on her hips, where her rapier Myrtenaster is holstered. "Why are looking at me? Clearly the best way to take the Footmen out is by surprise."
Ruby and Yang deflated, while Blake did a quiet "Yes!" in the background. I sighed. Well, time to break up the conversation before it escalates. "You know, all of you are right as Blake says." I said, cutting the conversation. "No matter what method you guys use, you get the job done." Thankfully, all girls nodded.
"But it doesn't answer the question!" Ruby whines. "Which is better? Mine or Yang's?"
"Yeah, which is better?" Yang, and subconsciously Weiss and Blake asked.
Well I didn't expect this. "I-I..uh..." I stuttered, not knowing what to say. "Perhaps a simulation would work?" The girls blinked for a moment, before Ruby shrugged.
"Okay, I guess we can try it out. Last one there gets me cookies!" And in a flash she sped off to the simulation room, leaving rose petals in her wake.
"Hey no fair! You had a head start!" Yang called out as she ran after her sister, leaving me, Blake and Weiss. There was some silence before Weiss spoke.
"Do they know it's really taking them by surprise?" Blake and I shook our heads. Knowing the two, they won't stop until it is settled. And besides, the best way to do it is you take them out by surprise. Since it's a whole squad, all forms of direct attacks are out the window. The sudden attack will throw them off guard and that's when you can charge in.
A soft shake of the ground and an explosion interrupted our little talk. I paled. "AH CRAP, THEY'RE DESTROYING THE SIMULATION ROOM AGAIN!" Quickly the three of us ran towards the direction of the room where hopefully no fires have started this time.
So this is just a taste of what I plan to do for the summer, hope you guys like it!
