Chapter 1: The One Key To Rule Them All
The City of Townsville...an almost perfect world to begin our story. An almost perfect world to describe how things come to be and how things can easily come to pass. May all find happiness in this almost perfect world.
Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup continued their screaming as they gaped at the City of Townsville newspaper. The Professor, now quite panicked as well, watched his little super-powered children fly rings around him in panic.
"Ohmygosh, ohmygosh, ohmygosh!" Bubbles screeched as the Professor interjected. "Girls, girls, girls! What is it? Too much salsa or ketchup for your scrambled eggs?! Gah! I'm such a terrible father!" He wailed. Blossom quickly stripped the paper from the Professor and shook her head. "No Professor! It's this!" She exclaimed as she held before her the paper which read, "Key to the world arrives in Townsville today."
The Professor calmed himself down and peered at the girls. "Oh girls, this is nothing to worry about. The key to control the world goes from city to city each year. This year it's Townsville's turn, and I think the key will be just fine with the Mayor in charge."
The girls quickly quieted and turned to each other to nod in agreement. "Of course you're right Professor, the key will be safe, Townsville will be safe, and everything will be just fine." The girls smiled.
If only within a perfect world.
Mojo Jojo stared out. His perfect world created. No hunger, no destruction, and free puppies for everyone. He tugged haughtily at his white coat covering his suit. A golden key dangling precariously from a chain around his neck.
"Such a perfect world. Everything calm. Peaceful. Perfect." He smiled as the world around him burst with such life and happiness. "It is almost...too perfect..." Mojo Jojo concluded, continuing to look at the expanse of Townsville before him. A few passing buzzards whizzed by and greeted him with a happy cheerful song. The people in Townsville milled about, eager to start their new day.
"This is...boring" Mojo Jojo muttered quietly, and grasping the key in his right hand, he dangled it in front of his face. "Boring...boring...boring! Everything is just so peaceful and too quiet...when I dreamed of such a perfect world...I would never have dreamed it to be so boring." He quietly looked at the golden key, it's promise and power glinting in the morning light. "Yes...yeessss...something can be done about this."
Mojo Jojo, his fanged teeth baring from his curled lips. Gripping the key tightly, he formulated an ingenious world for himself.
And if in only a perfect world could I tell you with certainty, that everything would be just fine.
The thunder rolled and rippled across the blackened sky. The people of Townsville shuddered from the rain, hunkering down in their tenements, waiting for it to pass. The bleak and broken city, shrouded and battered by the storm, seemed to slump under the weight and oppression of its constant and present ruler.
"Incoming announcement from President Mojo Jojo" blared a loudspeaker as people shuffled out from their hiding holes in the deep recesses in the city. "Greeting citizens of Townsville. This is your president, President Mojo Jojo. I am making a short, concise, and complete announcement that taxes will be increased again! That is all" Mojo Jojo laughed as the loudspeaker crackled to a halt and the people shuffled again back into their hiding spots.
A large citadel loomed over what was once Mojo Jojo's evil lair. It was a bright silvery metallic color, with tubes and pipes coming up from the earth to support the groaning weight of the large structure. Spires towering up towards the sky, hoping to catch the passing clouds. A cold chill ran through the air as a deep fog settled itself around the once bright city of Townsville. The enormous kingdom stood, striking itself above all the rest of the areas and declaring itself proudly as the home of Mojo Jojo.
Many of the people of Townsville take care to stay away from the place as it has become a symbol of terror and wickedness. Mojo Jojo, the crafty and brilliant monkey who is now single-handedly the only ruler of the entire world and will be forevermore. . .
Unless . . .
There is a small chance . . .
That within this imperfect world. . .
Everything can be made. . .
Back to the perfect way it once was.
