The rain poured down from the grey sky, and Bella watched the small water droplets fall; it was almost like the sky was crying for her, mocking her in a way that only their kind could understand. She could sense eyes watching her, the formidable feeling of being watched; yes Bella knew that feeling well. Carlisle, knowing he had been noticed stepped out from the shadows; Bella knew he wasn't alone but the others only just came into view, making their presence known. Carlisle kept a reasonable distance from Bella, knowing what the following conversation would entail.
They shared a look, though many emotions played across both of their eyes; they were both too caught up in recent events to notice. Carlisle's shoulders visible dropped, he knew there was no point in trying to change Bella's mind, a look of complete and utter determination had settled on her face. With one final look back, Bella turned and ran off into the storm. Little did she know that the Cullens had changed her life irrevocably in ways that neither Bella or the Cullens knew, not yet at least. Yet the knowing grin plastered on a certain pixie vampire remained, the future was looking good; just as long as everything stayed according to plan.
What the little pixie seemed to forget, is that the future can always change.
