When Butters graduated from college, he proposed to Nelly, his former rival and current girlfriend that he had been dating for seven seven years. Butters proposed while they were at Stark's Pond.
Both Butters and Nelly were just staring at the beautiful sunset that was a lovely shade of pink, light purple and orange. They just stared at it in silence until Butters broke the silence with something unexpected.
"Nelly?" Butters nervously asked.
"Yes?" Nelly replied.
"We've been together for seven years... and I was thinking about something that might make you antsy... but will you marry me?" Butters proposed as he got onto his knees and pulled out a box and opened it, revealing a sparkling diamond ring.
"..." Nelly paused.
She wasn't sure what to say at first but she eventually calmed down and responded.
"Yes, I gladly accepted your proposal." she accepted.
Several months later, the two got married and five months after their wedding, Nelly had some unexpected news to tell her newly wedded husband. When Butters returned home from work, he was greeted at the door by Nelly. She had a nervous expression on her face, as if she wanted to confess something.
"Hello darling." Butters greeted, oblivious to his wife's nervousness.
"Honey, I have to tell you something..." Nelly trembled.
"What is it?" Butters cheerfully asked.
"Please don't overreact but what I'm about to tell you is kind of serious."
"Tell me."
"I'm pregnant." Nelly confessed.
Butters' eyes suddenly lit up when he heard his wife's confession.
"We're going to have a baby!" Butters exclaimed.
He gave Nelly a big hug and promised her that he'll always be there by her side after they have the baby.
Nine months later:
Nelly went into labor. She was currently lying in the hospital bed, giving birth.
"Come on Mrs. Stotch, just one more push and it'll be out." the doctor informed.
"Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!" Nelly screamed.
Then, the loud sound of a crying baby filled the delivery room.
"Congratulations, it's a boy." the doctor congratulated.
He left the room to dry off and examine the baby before returning him to his parents.
"Aww... he's so cute!" Butters beamed.
Their son had inherited his mother's brown hair and her father's blue eyes, and was absolutely adorable.
"What should we name him?" Butters asked.
"What about Theo? Not Theodore, just Theo." Nelly suggested.
"Aw, that's a cute name. Sure." Butters agreed. "Also, I promise that we'll be a happy family forever."
"You're so sweet." Nelly blushed.
While Butters promised to be a family forever, he eventually (and unknowingly) broke his promise.
One day (after four years had passed), Nelly was just minding her own business until she entered her husband's room. In there, she found Butters on the phone and having a flirty conversation with somebody.
"Butters, how could you cheat on me?" Nelly cried.
"Ahhh! I'll call you back!" Butters screamed.
He hung up and turned to face his wife, who was now furious at him.
"What do you mean I was cheating on you? I was just chatting with my girlfriend, Charlotte." Butters innocently replied.
"How long were you chatting with this so called Charlotte? Answer me now." Nelly demanded.
"Uh... about two years." Butters honestly confessed.
"So I knew it, you were cheating on me when I saw you having that conversation with Charlotte." Nelly said.
"Uh honey, I can explain. I-"
"No need to explain, we're having a divorce so you can be with Charlotte and that's final!" Nelly yelled.
She left Butters and went to file in a divorce.
"Oh well, I love Charlotte more than Nelly. Our marriage seems not so right over the years." Butters realized.
Theo could hear the argument. He just hid under the bed, crying.
Shortly afterwards, Butters moved out of the house and never came back.
"Mom?" Theo asked.
"Yes sweetie?" Nelly replied.
"When will daddy come home?"
"Never."
Tears started dripping out of Theo's eyes.
"I want daddy!" he wept.
"I'm sorry but your father doesn't love me." Nelly sarcastically apologized.
The day after his father left, Theo just showed up to school all cynical and cranky. While upset, he didn't want open up his feelings with anyone At recess, he just sat in the corner. Micah and Marc approached him to check up on him.
"Theo, what's wrong?" Marc asked.
"Just fuck off and leave me alone!" Theo snapped.
"Okay..." Micah replied before backing off, the same.
When his friends were gone, Theo just continued sulking about his parents' divorce.
While Theo was at school, Nelly was at home, doing the housework. It wouldn't be a matter of time before she needed to apply for a full time job so she could support herself and her son. As she dusted the furniture, the doorbell rang.
"Who could that be?" she thought as she walked towards the door.
When she opened the door, the person standing there was none other than her ex-boyfriend, Francis. The two had dated each other until Nelly broke up with him for Butters and what was he doing here?
"Francis, what are you doing here?" Nelly asked.
"So, I heard you and Butters had a divorce." Francis replied.
"Can we not talk about that?" Nelly said.
"Oh, sorry. Anyways, I'm here because since you and Butters had a divorce, I was wondering if we could get back together. If not, that's fine, I'll just continue being single." Francis explained.
"... Now that I'm single again and I have a son. I have to find a full time job to support my son and I fear that he might get lonely..." Nelly thought out loud.
"Is that a yes or no?"
"I'll think about it."
Nelly was about to close the door but Francis stopped her.
"Wait, before you go. Here's my number, call me when you've made up your mind." Francis said.
"Thanks... I guess." Nelly reluctantly thanked.
Later that night when Theo was asleep. Nelly woke up at midnight, unable to sleep. She pulled out her cell phone to give Francis a call, despite it being midnight.
"Hello?" Francis groggily answered.
"Sorry Francis, it's me, Nelly. I just wanted to tell you that maybe we should get back together." Nelly apologized.
"Okay. Now can I go back to sleep?" Francis moaned.
"Yeah, sorry for bothering you."
While their relationship was unstable for the first six months, Francis and Nelly eventually warmed up to each other and their relationship became more and more stable overtime. After four years of dating, Francis and Nelly were in the middle of a street, staring at the full moon. Aside from the background noise, it was absolute silence but Francis eventually broke the silence with some unexpected. Nelly noticed that her boyfriend was sweating and tapping his feet.
"Francis, are you alright? You seem a little... nervous." Nelly asked.
"I'm fine, I just want to ask you something." Francis reassured.
He got down onto his knees and pulled out a box with a diamond ring inside it.
"Will you marry me?" he proposed.
"Gosh, yes!" Nelly exclaimed.
She was surprised that she screamed in excitement, when Butters proposed to her, she just calmly accepted it. Perhaps her excitement meant that they'd be together forever, unlike what happened with Butters.
A year later, Francis and Nelly got married and several months, Francis moved in with Nelly. When he moved in, Theo was a little puzzled with what was going on at first. He didn't know that Francis was now his stepfather, all he knew was that his mother had dated him for several years.
"Mom, why is your boyfriend here?" Theo asked.
"Well, he's your new father." Nelly explained.
"For real? I have a dad again?"
"Well, sort of. He's your step father."
"Dad, stepdad. Whatever. Now I have a dad again." Theo babbled.
Things were finally starting to turn around for Theo, he was happy that he now had a father again, well, Francis was his stepfather. He became less cynical and he started becoming more positive even though he was still a little cranky at times.
A/N: I'm sorry if this story is messed up, that's because I have writer's block (in addition to that, I mostly spent time writing this with my left hand due to my aching right hand). I wanted to do more digital art but my right fingers (yes, I'm right handed) were aching from drawing on my iPad (my iPad isn't compatible with stylus pens and I don't want to give up my iPad just yet because it still works) for the majority day, so I decided to write something to ease my boredom.
Also, I'm sorry for not writing a lot about Butters, I originally intended on him being an antagonist of a scrapped story. Don't worry, because the story got scraped, Butters won't be a villain, however, I doubt that he'll be as prominent as his friends in future stories to due him moving out of South Park (don't get me wrong, I like Butters because he's so stinking adorable).
